Friends were supposed to have each other's best interests at heart. And Ron was being a good friend for you, how? By looking out for you and protecting you from danger. He didn't have any ulterior motives behind looking out for you or wanting to see you happy all the time, it's what good friends do don't they?

Ron prides himself over the fact that he's a good friend to people and you are no exception to that case. From offering you some food when you go without eating because you have an essay to complete to protecting you from Malfoy and his cronies, he's just trying to be your good friend

However the feelings he has for you are far from friendly at all. His feelings took him by surprise, one day as he saw you talking to that git Cormac, he didn't know why he suddenly lost his temper and he managed to squish his pastry in his hand so hard that there was frosting and it's contents were dribbling down his hand. Harry and Hermione had to get his attention and tell him about it as Ron stared jealously at you and Cormac talking about something. Oh, and a word of caution, Harry and Hermione know about their friend's yandere and dark tendencies towards you and guess what? They're platonic yanderes for you too, claiming that they have your best interests in their hearts as well

You're so innocent and naive in Ron's eyes, he has to protect you, he doesn't know why but he just has to. And you constantly occupy his mind, day and night as he's always wondering what you're doing and if you're doing all right or not. Based on some of the crazy adventures he's had with Harry and Hermione, he'll be doing whatever he can to make sure you don't fall down the same rabbit hole as he and his friends did, he wants to keep you safe and at times he keeps thinking that life would be so much more easier for you and him if he could just find a way to wrap you up in silk and stuff you in some room so you could be protected by him always and be safe

That's when he starts to get the idea to try taking you for himself. And also, he's getting even more jealous by the day as he sees you talking to other people. Harry and Hermione are an exception to this, but Ron goes wild with jealousy as he sees you and some other random prick or git talking with each other. And if you're talking with Malfoy of all people he will literally lose his cool and he doesn't even mind or care that he might get into detention or something, he WILL throw hands at Malfoy and no doubt hex him, but this time his hex will work

The last straw was when you'd wandered off into the Forbidden forest on your own, like what in the name of Merlin's pants were you thinking? Do you know how many dangerous creatures are there that want to devour you and have you as a snack? Ron, not being able to see you hurt and even if he has to save you from yourself, he will. So, he decided to kidnap you along with Harry and Hermione and they hid you in the Room of Requirement. You were surprised to find yourself in the Room of Requirement and you saw Ron and you immediately put two and two together as you figured out what happened

"Ron please, let me go! This isn't right, why did you kidnap me?" you looked at him with fear and desperation in your voice. Ron on the other hand looked at him like you'd said something completely crazy as he looked astonished and spoke ''Kidnap? I'm simply protecting you from this cruel world'' and now it was your turn to look surprised. Did he get hit with some sort of spell, why was he acting like this? He held you as he kept telling you how much he loved you and he was going to protect you from the world and keep you safe. Looks like friends aren't always what they claim to be
