《Harry Potter One Shots》James Sirius Potter x Katerina

Katerina's P.O.V

You know that feeling when you really just want to hit someone with a chair? Or even better yet, a light saber? That's the feeling that creeps over me when I am within a 10 foot radius of the infamous James Potter. When I say infamous, I mean the one known for destroying teachers class rooms by exploding random objects or with his recent preference - bubbles.

You may ask, why do I hate him so much? Well, mainly because of all the crap he pulled on me in 4th year. We were a year apart and it took him a while to find someone who he could prank constantly. So all throughout our years at Hogwarts, I was his prime subject. Of course I tried to defend myself from his incoming attacks, but none of which succeeded. So fine, he was pretty clever. We also happened to be on opposing Quidditch house teams. Now, it was our last year at the magic school and therefore, the last school Quidditch game was to be played. We had to win. I'll be damned if I let him have the last laugh.

Of course, today was that day; Slytherin, my house, would compete for the Cup against Gryffindor. Being Harry Potter's son, James was obligated to play Quidditch and he was good at it. Lucky me, I get to score on him, though.

Walking down the halls towards the changing rooms, I lifted my thick hair into a messy bun to get it out of my face for the moment. Soon enough, familiar footsteps could be heard behind me.

"Hey, Kitty, you ready to lose tonight?" James came up behind me and spoke, poking the back of my neck. Like any normal human being, I scrunched up like a turtle and turned around, shoving him away.

"Ha, as if." I spat curtly, ripping away from him and turning away, walking faster towards the changing rooms, wanting the nice peace and quiet that came with having no boys in a room with you.

"Well, see you on the field, where you will be creamed." He said finally and shoved past me. I shrug and open the door to find the girl teammates getting dressed and ready for tonights match. I walk over to an empty bench and shrug my school robes off, replacing them with my green Slytherin Quidditch robes. After pulling my hair into two french braids and doing it for some other players who asked, we all grab our brooms and head out to the pitch, meeting up with the boys on our team.

Being the team captain, it was my responsibility to get our team hyped up and ready to play. After some teasing of the Gryffindor house and a pep talk of our strategies and positions, we were ready to fight to the death. You are going down, Potter.

(Start of co-write)

We made our way onto the field, the crowds cheering. As we walked out onto the pitch in a movie like fashion, I happened notice our section of fans was larger than his. Grinning, we met in the middle of field.

With a whistle, the game started. Kicking my feet into the ground, I shot up into the air and the balls were released. I saw the snitch briefly before it disappeared and the two Seekers took off across the fields.

Madam Hooch threw the Quaffle in the air and I saw my other teammates take after it. The Bludgers shot up and I got ready to swing. I was totally aiming for Potter.

I swung with my bat (I had to Google the stick name -_-) and the Bludger went flying. It missed Potter and he didn't seem to notice that I was trying to hit him. I growled in frustration.

I saw the second Bludger go after one of my teammates with the Quaffle. I charged forward with my semi-new Nimbus 2001 and deflected it, letting her attempt to score. She missed, but I applauded her effort.

Potter caught the ball and threw it with a carefree grin, winking at me. I faked a smile back and flew towards the Gryffindor goals, hitting another Bludger as I flew. Our second beater got the other one and it sailed at one of the Gryffindor teammates.

Suddenly, Potter came out of his goal as I was sailing towards it to hit the Bludger. He turned to stop and I swung. Potter ducked at the last second, but I couldn't stop in time, even if I wanted to. I tried to change direction but instead, I hit Potter in the head with my bat. That probably hurt.

I saw his green eyes roll back into his head as he fell into the sand below. His broom fell next to him and the crowd gasped. I grinned before I realized he wasn't moving. When I saw the lifeless body laying on the ground below me, the smile dropped from my face. I soared down and jumped off the broom gracefully. The medic had gotten to the field and had picked him up.

"Is he okay?" I asked, actually concerned. I was annoyed that I cared.

"Yeah, he'll be fine. He's just knocked out. He might have a concussion though. I'm not sure how bad yet. I won't know until he wakes up," Madam Hooch, the instructor of Quiddich said.

"Oh, then I'll wait. I wanna know how badly I hurt him," I said, trying to sound like I didn't enjoy the fact that I knocked him out.

"Okay, then follow me." She mistook my statement as a statement of me caring about his well being.

For about an hour I pretty much sat there and tried to remember why I cared. It took a little time staring at his unmoving body for me to realize the pristine look he had on his face. It wasn't like the usual smirk or grin he gave me all the time. Now, it was just peaceful and almost kind. I decided that this look suited him better than his usual one.

He woke up after five hours. The nurse there gave him something for the pain in his head and said he had a mild concussion.

"Hey Kitty, I won," he said, grinning at me after his eyes cracked open and he realized I was there beside him. I punched his arm preparing to retaliate.

"No you didn't. We got the snitch and won, sucker," I said, grinning back at him. "Nice game though. My favorite part was you falling in the sand, presumed dead."

"How cruel of you, taking such enjoyment in my pain," he said over dramatically, wincing as he stretched his arms and brought his hands to his head, combing through his thick hair.

"Shut up," I snapped. He smiled at me genuinely.

"But thanks for waiting for me," he said, suffling awkwardly.

"Hey, don't think I actually care whether or not you got a major concussion or broke any bones or had any brain damage or anything, got that?" I snapped, scooting my chair a little closer to his bedside.

He looked at me and smiled. "Yeah, no, of course not. So what have you been doing while you waited?"

"Nothing. I skipped Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts though," I answered, pleased that I got to skip out on the boring class. I heard it was pretty interesting once. The professor's name was something along the lines of Snark or Snape.

Potter stared at me. I looked at him back, staring him down. He laughed.

"Come here; I wanna tell you something," he whispered. I leaned in. "No, closer," He pushed, slightly aggravating me. I leaned in a bit more to the point where I was almost touching his face.

He grabbed the back on my head and kissed me slowly, running his hand through my hair. I widened my eyes in shock before closing them and kissing him back. I could feel him grinning and I pulled away suddenly, glaring at him.

"What was that for?" I demanded.

"For winning," his eyes widening as the grin on his face grew even wider.

"Is this some joke to you? I can't believe you!" I exclaimed, about to get up from my chair and leave. At the last moment he grabbed the end of my robe and tugged me back towards the white bed.

"Of course not! I've had my eye on you ever since the first prank," he said. I raised my eyebrow but slowly grinned back at him.

"So have I."
