《Sticky Love - OsaYama (Osamu x Yamaguchi) -Haikyu!!-》Chapter 13: Onigiri

Osamu stretches his hand to the other side of the bedroom. His eyes opening a little the moment he felt nothing on the bedsheet. It's been 5 years since they started dating, and 3 years since they moved in together in their humble-sized apartment. The gray-haired boy crackled his knuckles, creating a satisfying sound as he lets out a big yawn. He drags himself out of bed, following the smell of breakfast in the kitchen.
"Hello there sleepy head." Yamaguchi greeted him, wearing nothing but his boxers and apron. The freckled boy was preparing to break for them as he prepares for his class.
"Good morning," Osamu wrapped his arms around Yamaguchi's waist from behind. His weight leaning against the freckled boy, as he smothers his face on his skin. He noticed the marks he left on his body last night, some of them were a little purple. "I'm sorry, I think I might have gotten a little carried away with the biting."
Yamaguchi just smirked before setting the food on the table. "It's alright, I'll just get my revenge later." He cracked his knuckles before sitting down in his seat.
"Please be gentle." Osamu stuttered as he took out a chair to sit beside him.
"No." Yamaguchi simply uttered. #YamaguchiSwitchSupremacy
Since they've begun dating, Kita gifted them some of his, equipment of pleasure. Osamu refused to use them because it just feels, weird. Yamaguchi on the other hand wasn't afraid of exploring, new ways to, make his boyfriend scream in pain and pleasure. Kinky.
"There's a festival happening at the university next week, want to come?" Yamaguchi smiled. "It's on a Friday though so you'll have to close the shop."
Osamu thought for a second, before replying. "I'll just close a little early, besides I kinda miss going to school."
Unlike Yamaguchi who chose to continue studying, Osamu on the other hand focused on setting up his business. Onigiri Miya, an Onigir shop run by him and his twin brother. Well, mostly Osamu and Yamaguchi since Atsumu is usually busy honing his volleyball skills. It's either that or busy getting some from his boyfriend. Or both.
Their life together is pretty normal as couples go. They would go on vacation somewhere during Yamaguchi's school breaks to unwind. Yamaguchi finally learned how to cook thanks to his boyfriend's efforts and patience, mostly patience.
Osamu decided to close shop early that day too, to pick up his boyfriend from the university later this afternoon. It's been a while since he last walked him home plus he was planning something special for tonight's dinner anyway. He made a reservation for them to a restaurant and got a private table near the balcony too where they can have a picture-perfect view of the city.
Upon his arrival at the University's gates, he saw Yamaguchi together a tall man with naturally messy hair, a part of his hair covering his right eye. The man had his arms wrapped around Yamaguchi's shoulder, leaning close as he pokes his stomach a little to tickle the freckled boy.

"Oh, hey Samu!" Yamaguchi waved at him the moment he saw him. The other man just turned away, scratching the back of his head. "What are you doing here? Did something happened?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing." Osamu walked towards them. His eyes fixed on the other guy.
"Well, I'll be going now Yamaguchi-Kun!" The black-haired man smiled. "I'll be at my house early so just text me if you're in front of my house. I'll come running down!" Yamaguchi just nodded and waved goodbye as the man walks away.
"Who was that?" Osamu squinted his eyes at the individual.
"Oh? Kuroo-san?" Yamaguchi said. "He's my thesis partner and pretty smart too. I thought he was all talk but I'm glad he can back it up."
"I see." Osamu glared at the back of Kuroo, making the rooster head feel a sudden chill in the air.
Yamaguchi turned to his boyfriend and grinned at him, almost teasing him. "Samu! Don't tell me your jealous!?"
"I am not." Osamu crossed his arms, pouting a little as he looked away. Way to prove he's not jelly. Yamaguchi can't help but laugh a little at how cute his boyfriend's reaction was.
"He has a boyfriend you know and he's just really touchy." Yamaguchi giggled a little, stepping a little closer. "I do punch him in the face or his pancreas when he gets a little too far though."
Yamaguchi intertwined his hands with his boyfriend's and squeeze them tight. He made sure to used his puppy dog eyes to calm him down a little, before a quick peck in his lips. The gray-haired boy just clicked his tongue before leading the way to his car.
"Where are we going tonight?" Yamaguchi tilted his head a little.
"How did you know that we are going somewhere and not just home?"
"You only close the shop abruptly if you prepare some sort of surprise or reserved a place for us to eat."
"Am I that predictable?" Samu looked down a little. Yamaguchi can sense the mood shifts of his boyfriend and just assured him that he is kinda predictable but it's not a bad thing. "How is that not bad or boring?"
The freckled boy explains that when we're young we always strive or look for something exciting, thrilling, new but as we grow up, we prefer something predictable, something we can always rely on. Something sustainable and always there for us. Something meaningful.
"It basically means that as we grow older we stop looking for a place to our out pants and ook for a place to hang out hats." Yamaguchi scratched the back of his head, hoping he made some sense. "It's something I got from Philosophy class the other day."
But they wouldn't want it any other way.

Lucio's wasn't that big but its location was on the top of a 24th story building that overlooks the city. It's also known for its delicious dishes, and Fukunuga is one of their chef's too. Osamu can't help but glanced at his boyfriend as they drive to the restaurant, who was happily humming to himself as he browses the menu online. That way, they can order faster when they arrived, which they did.
They can't help but be in awe of the beautiful view of the city. When the rays hit their faces, and their gaze turned to each other, a smile simply formed on their faces as they thought of how lucky they were to be together.
"I got a wedding invite from TsukkI!" Yamaguchi grinned holding up a pink envelope in front of him. "Yachi and him are gonna get married! Can you believe it!?"
Osamu took a bite of his food first before replying. "I mean, Yachi was the one who proposed right?" He said. "I saw the video, it was cheesy but your best friend's reaction was pretty adorable, to be honest."
"Right!" The freckled boy can't help but grin like the proud best friend that he is. "We still have 6 months to prepare for the clothes. We're coming okay!"
"It's on a Wednesday right?" Osamu calmly said. "We just have to close the shop for the day."
A smile formed on the freckled boy's face. He knows his boyfriend isn't a fan of weddings or marriage because of his experience with his family so seeing him be serious about attending his best friend's wedding just makes him happy.
Speaking of weddings, Osamu has something very special for his boyfriend. Buried under the soggiest fries known to mankind, lies a surprise for Yamaguchi to uncover. A ring, not just any ring, a wedding ring. He thought about it for a while and even though they aren't married, they already feel like they are. So why not make it official.
Plus, who doesn't like a wedding? Osamu doesn't, to be honest. But Yamaguchi does and that's enough for the gray-haired boy. Making him happy, makes him happy.
Osamu's eyes widened when he saw the plate of fries vanished in just a snap. And there was no sign of the ring anywhere, except when Yamaguchi started to cough, then choked violently. The freckled boy hit his chest, trying to squeeze whatever was blocking his throat. Osamu panicked and immediately went to his boyfriend's aid, doing a Heimlich maneuver.
"Since when did soggy fries wanted to kill me!?" Yamaguchi cried out, before wiping a bit of saliva that was dripping from his mouth.
Then again, he shouldn't be surprised by this. Think of this as revenge for the countless fries he ate. How many potato families lost their potato children or potato parents each day. But this isn't that kind of story. Yamaguchi looked down on the floor and picked up the ring that was stuck in his throat a few moments ago.
Fukunaga-san was trying to kill me with a ring! Yamaguchi thought, he did tell him that he wasn't a fan of his paella the other day.
His worries vanished when Osamu took the ring away from him and cleaned it with a cloth and water. A confused expression form on Yamaguchi's face when the gray-haired boy just kneeled in front of him on his one knee, smiling at him. Yamaguchi blinked fast before he realized what was happening.
"Tadashi, I know I said marriage sucks before but...." He paused as his cheeks turned red, making it a little hard to speak. "Will you marry me?"
Yamaguchi suddenly started to giggle, then began to laugh uncontrollably until his stomach hurt from it. Osamu clearly didn't expect his reaction and just waited for the freckled boy to calm down and when he did, Yamaguchi fixed himself quickly, and then kneeled on one knee too, and took out something familiar in his pocket, a ring that was properly in its case.
Osamu's jaw dropped when he realized what was happening. "Wait, is that!?-"
"I was planning to confess next week after my finals but you beat me to it." A huge grin formed on his face as he happily shows him the ring he chose for him. Something he was saving from working at the Onigir shop.
Blood went straight up to Osamu's face, his face looked weird. Combination of joy, love, embarrassment, and arousal all in one. Pretty neat. They help the other put the ring on their fingers, which was very which until they realized something. Neither of them isn't sure how this works. Usually, only one gets to proposed, not both parties. If both parties proposed does that make the proposal null and invalid? Probably not.
So the two of them decided to shout their answers at the time, and they shouted, "I do." Would be awkward if one of them said no at that point.
Osamu and Yamaguchi lunged at one another for a hug, that it was almost like they tackled each other, making the two fell to their side still holding each other. Both of them started to laugh at what just happened until their eyes saw the ring on their fingers. A ring that reminds them of the future.
"I found the place where I can hang my hat!" Yamaguchi happily smiled as the two hold each other, with the sun setting in the background.
"I'm glad it's with me," Osamu replied.
I hope you guys like the ending! Sorry for the long wait. Work is just horrible and life draining. Going to focus on working on my other series soon! :D

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
