Sweet and Salty
Salty and sweet
Y/n and Kei
L/n and Tsukishima
Not many agree
But together they are free
She loves him
With all her whim
And he loves her
More than anyone could concur.
——————
I leaned across the table to get a better view of my precious y/n. Her skin glew underneath the shitty cafe light. It was golden, just like her...
I mean her personality.
Her hair was tied up into two Afro puffs at the side of her head. I loved it when she wore her hair natural, her tight h/c curls enhanced her already beautiful features. Her enchanting e/c eyes stared at me with hopeful eyes. Desperate to know what was on my mind.
I placed my hand gently on top of hers, guiding them to the middle of the table. I traced circles on her delicate hands, before saying...
"Shortcake...."
"Hmm." She hummed at me , her voice sounding like sweet honey.
"Can I be your boyfriend...." My voice trailed away at the end of the sentence, my cheeks flushing a Scarlett red as I quickly looked away.
A small chuckle escaped her lips. She leaned over the table and put my heated face in her hands, turning it to face her. She placed a small kiss on my forehead. Causing me to turn an even deeper shade of ruby.
"Of course Kei!" A large smile formed on her face. Showing off her pearly whites and smile lines. A slight smirk appeared on my lips, guess you could say I was kind of smug that I scored a queen.
"Mmm , you're stuck with me now shortcake you know?" I smirked at her deviously. "And your stuck with me Kei, and I know you won't be able to handle all this." She showed off herself to me. Slight laughs escaping as her hands trailed down her body.
"You're so weird shortcake." I laughed. She winked at me, signifying she already knew. Then took another large bite of cake.
She practically inhaled her cake , eating was like an extreme sport to her. She then eyed up my own plate.
"Babe , you gonna eat that." She said to me.
I internally panicked at the fact she called me babe. But decided to not show it. I shrugged it off and said no, I wasn't really hungry anyways.
She smiled before happily eating some of my cake. She then turned away from the cake and looked at me.
Damn I wish she'd look at me the way she looked at cake.
"Say aaaaahhh Kei." She joked. Doing what I was told I opened my mouth and she placed some cake into my mouth.

"God damn," she moaned , "I wasn't expecting you to actually open your mouth. I kinda wanted that cake."
I chuckled at her little mannerisms. She was sweet , extremely fucking sweet.
"I'm glad I'm your girlfriend Kei." She said to me before sliding into seat next to me. She kissed me on the cheek, before dragging me off somewhere.
I groaned playfully, before asking...
"Where ya taking me shortcake?"
She giggled a bit, not actually answering my question. I rolled my eyes in annoyance , but still followed her like a puppy with his owner.
——
We arrived at the place and wow was I shocked.
"The library shortcake?"
"I want to pick a book...
For you to read to me...
Preferably at night, when I'm staying at yours..."
I chuckled at her little confession. She was too cute for her own good, I held her hand in mine and walked into the library.
We browsed through the selection of books , but ultimately decided on a romance. I let her believe it was her decision but ultimately it was mine.
I'm a big romantic at heart.
I bought the book, instead of borrowing it like y/n suggested, we immersed in a meaningless conversation as we walked home. Her eyes gleaming every time I mentioned something she slightly liked , or I remembered something ever so small about her.
This made me wonder....
Who hurt her?
Why does she get excited over the little things ? Why is she happy when someone does the bare necessities?
It isn't just me. This happens whenever Yachi does something for her or when Yamaguchi does something for her, it makes no sense...
———
Laid in bed, her sweet voice said to me.
"Read to me babe..."
"Okay baby," I softly sighed getting up to grab the book we bought together.
I pursed my lips and stroked the hard back cover, before getting back into bed and placing her head on my lap.
I opened up the book and began to read to my girlfriend. She closed her eyes and smiled listening to my voice. Little giggles or soft sighs escaping her mouth every time something interesting happened.
Music to my ears.
A small smile formed on my mouth as I continued to read. So small , that she probably never even noticed it.
I read the first few chapters and noticed her breathing slow down slightly.
I stroked her hair before closing the book quietly.
"Why'd you stop Kei?" She asked me tiredly with half lidded eyes.
"You're tired baby go to sleep." I said to her calmly , placing the book on my bed side desk. I continued stroking her hair trying not to mess it up. I loved her kinks and curls.

Slowly but surely , she fell asleep. I then moved her off me and placed her on her side. Once I got comfortable and put the duvet ontop of us ; I wrapped my arm around her and as if it was instinct she snuggled into me.
I sighed.
This mother fucker is going to be the death of me.
I think I love her.
I mean we may not have been in a relationship for a long time, but it's been several months since we first met...
Why did it take me so long to ask her out?
I love her...
But I can't tell her.
Not yet anyways.
"We haven't even been in a relationship for a day Tsukishima , don't scare her off." I muttered to myself slapping my cheeks.
"Kei?"
"Shortcake go back to sleep."
She smiled at me before nodding back off to sleep.
She was cute when she smiled.
After a while, I ended up falling asleep too. Her frame in my long arms. I knew I'd probably wake up with a dead arm the next morning, but it was worth it. She's worth it.
——————
I woke up early in the morning and went on a jog. I needed to clear my head, nothing bad happened. In fact I needed to clear my head for that very reason, it was in the clouds. I was high on serotonin, and only God knows why.
After the jog I picked up some breakfast for y/n, bearing in mind her sweet tooth I bought her some hot chocolate and a pain au chocolat.
I ended up buying myself one of those green smoothie things because I wasn't really hungry. In fact I didn't even drink much of it.
The little weirdo was still asleep when I got back. I took a quick shower and changed into some joggers. And surprise surprise , she was STILL asleep.
I crawled into bed with her, placing a light kiss on her cheek and scrolled through social media on my phone. (Headphones in so I didn't wake her up.)
Not long later she woke up, she groaned a bit and cheerfully said morning to me with half lidded eyes.
"Morning shortcake, I brought you breakfast." I nodded towards my desk and her eyes shone.
"Kei , babe... You didn't have to thankyou."
I shook it off as if it was nothing. "No big deal." I said with a straight face, as if all I did was get her some water from the kitchen.
She ate her breakfast in bed, offering me some every couple of minutes.
"I've already eaten." I lied , I didn't want to take her food. Plus I had my smoothie from earlier in the fridge.
"You have to go back to Miyagi tomorrow right?" She asked me, y/n looked a bit upset at the thought. I nodded, even though I genuinely didn't want to go.
"Mmm for about 3 days. We have a match. If it was just training I probably would've drove there and back. Like I normally do." I told my girlfriend. It was clear she had something to say but she held it in.
"Do you wanna come with me y/n?" I asked her, a slight smile crept on her face. "You can do online classes while you're in Miyagi."
She slowly nodded agreeing to my idea. "I'd love too Kei, but I need to double check with Hitoka. I also need to tell her that we're officially together because she's been on my back for the longest time."
I chuckled, "that's Yachi for you. Also don't worry about it , it's just a suggestion.
Hey , why don't we meet up with Yachi and Yams later on today and tell them about us.
And the trip to Miyagi. They'll be coming to my game anyways, along with two other boys. You haven't met these two yet but they are good people.
In fact one of them was the one who got you in touch with that chef guy, what's his name? Atsumu..."
"Osamu-" y/n corrected me. "Atsumu is his twin."
"Oh yeah that." I smirked, I snaked my arms against her body and pulled her closer to me , placing another kiss on her head.
"You stink." I laughed, Y/n sighed softly before getting up off of the bed.
"Oh lord we're not doing this again." She mocked before walking over to my bathroom and taking a shower.
———
Y/n finally came out of the shower and looked through my wardrobe.
"Your clothes are shit." She exclaimed before grabbing a hoodie and basketball shorts.
I looked at her funnily before rolling my eyes.
"What?" She mocked.
"Why you wearing my shit clothes hmm?" I asked her, she chuckled.
"Piss off." She stated.
————————-
I walked over to Y/n's apartment. We had a plan to surprise Yachi and then call Yamaguchi to come over . Once we did that, we would tell them about our plans.
Hopefully it would work.
"Hey Hitoka." Y/n sang as she opened the door to her home.
"Oh and TADASHI-
man what the fuck are you doing here?" Y/n enquired.
Yamaguchi didn't tell me he was going to Yachi's place and he normally tells me everything.
Something is going on between the two of them...

But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves.
