Sweet and salty.
Polar opposites.
They aren't meant to work.
They aren't mean to be good together.
But they are.
Just like you and him.
Kei and y/n
He's salty.
She's sweet.
A match made in heaven.
They were meant to be.
Y/n L/n , first year Tokyo university.
The new girl in town, she wanted a fresh start. Her online friend Hitoka Yachi joked about her coming to Japan for university. She never expected her to take it so seriously. But it payed off , because they were roommates and living the broke university life .
"Y/n?" Yachi called from across the room. "Hey y/n, I have night class, you good for food?"
"I'm good Yachi, I was thinking of going to the little cafe down the road. I'll see you later okay?" You called back. A couple of seconds later you heard the door click open.
"Bye, I'll see you later." Yachi sang before walking out of your apartment.
You decided to do some cleaning before leaving. Just picking up the bits and bobs lying around so that you could head straight to bed after the cafe. Once you were done, you slipped into some grey joggers and an oversized hoodie. You then put your braids into a high pony-tail and then set off.
——
Being black in Japan wasn't easy. Many of the boys you met during the first half of your first year had a fetish for black women. Due to the western stereotypes of them having ridiculous curves.
A minority were racist and called you names like monkey and nigger. You learnt not to get angry and fight back because that enforced into the angry black girl stereotype. Instead you sat there and told them off politely.
Again this was a minority of people in Japan so it didn't happen often, but it was scary when it did. Still, you loved Japan with your whole heart and never wanted to change your experiences now and yet to come for the world.

Yachi was a very good friend, always defended you when something bad happened and even introduced you to her friends so that you'd have someone to hang out with when she wasn't available. You loved and appreciated Yachi with your whole heart and probably wouldn't have lasted half as long as you did without her.
———
Sooner or later , you arrived to the cafe. A taller , blonde man was in the queue beside you. For some strange reason, he felt familiar. Even though you had never seen the man in your life. He was most definitely not in any of your university classes, since you would have remembered someone that tall...
"Next."
"Next"
"Hi could I order the..."
"Strawberry shortcake "
"Strawberry shortcake"
You turned to look at each other.
"Well well well, I must say you have immaculate taste." The blonde boy said to you with a smirk.
"So do you." You chuckled handing the cashier your money.
"No drink?" The tall boy asked, you shook your head. "Crap I forgot to order one-"
"Hey, why don't I order you one. But in return you have to sit with me, deal?" He negotiated.
"Deal." You exclaimed.
"Can I add two strawberry milkshakes onto that." He asked the cashier , she nodded her head before tapping away at the till.
"So when am I paying you back?" You asked him, "You don't have too. I'm just being a nice person." He answered whilst walking to an empty table. "Come sit," he motioned at you.
Not long after you seated, your food arrived. "Thank you." You said to the waitress , who smiled and bowed before attending to her next customers.
You took your fork and dug straight into the cake. A slight moan escaping your mouth as your eyes lit up in delight.
"This shit is so good!" You exclaimed taking another mouthful.
The other boy chuckled at you, before taking a small bite out of his own shortcake. "I must agree with you there. Can't beat the cake from here."
"So, I must assume that you like shortcake too?"
"Yes I do. It's sweet but salty. I like it..."
"Y/n L/n."
"Kei. Kei Tsukishima."

Tanka and Haiku
Overview TankaThe tanka poem is very similar to haiku but tanka poems have more syllables and it uses simile, metaphor and personifacation. There are five lines in a Tanka poem. Tanka poems are written about nature, seasons, love, sadness and other strong emotions. This form of poetry dates back almost 1200 years ago.HaikuHaiku poetry hails from Japan and uses strict syllable guidelines rather than focusing on meter or rhyme. Because the poem is short only three lines with 17 total syllables writers must choose words carefully to create meaning. Haiku poetry is typically simplistic, but its meaning can have great depth. Source : Wikipedia You can share my poem but dont copy, Piglarism is a crime. Enjoy reading po. 💕😊💕Ms. Eryl
