It was weird going into the off-season in October. But, celebrating being a World Series champion is something Christian thought he would never be doing. Especially with his family. He was blessed with an amazing career, three beautiful kids, and a beautiful wife. He wasn't sure how long he wanted to keep playing though, he wanted to be with his family, and watch the kids grow up.
Christian didn't want to miss anything from the kids and with Eiley and Sawyer growing up so fast, it felt like he was missing everything and he didn't want that to happen with Adelaide as well. He couldn't believe how fast they were all growing up, they were growing older and older before his eyes.
He sat outside with his kids as they swam in the pool and Viviana was in there with Adelaide as she couldn't swim on her own yet. Sawyer had his cute floatees on and was slowly learning how to swim above water on his own.
"Daddy, look!" Eiley exclaimed before she jumped off the deck into the pool doing a cannonball.
"Holy cow, Eils! That's awesome!" He said before taking his sandals off and got in the pool going over by Vivi and Adelaide. "Hi, my pretty girls." Christian kissed Viviana's cheek.
Viviana smiled at him, "Hi, babe. Addy loves the water. She's having a blast." She giggled and splashed a little water, watching as Addy did the same thing. "You having fun, princess?"
Christian kissed Adelaide's cheek, "You're a natural already, baby girl!" He looked over, seeing Eiley and Sawyer splashing each other, "Hey, be careful with each other."
Eiley smiled at Christian, "Daddy, we just playing! I not hurt him." She replied, swimming away from Sawyer. "Addy swim herself?"
Vivi shook her head, "Not yet, baby! She's gotta take lessons just like you did! Then she'll be swimming right next to her big sister!"
"She get floatees like Sawyer?" Eiley looked confused, seeing as though Viviana was just holding Adelaide and she didn't have floaters on her arms like Sawyer did.
"No, not yet. They don't make them small enough for her! So she either goes in her little sitting floaty or I carry her, or daddy carries her! I think she likes that better." Viviana told her daughter, "Babe, can you grab Adelaide's raft?"
Christian nodded, going to get her raft and came back by them, helping Vivi get Adelaide into her raft. "Look at you, Ads! You're swimming all on your own! And you have your ducky!" He smiled, hearing Adelaide giggle and continue to splash the water. She was starting to say a couple of little babbling words, but nothing in full yet.

Viviana held the raft, moving it around a little so Adelaide could feel like she was swimming on her own, "I love being able to put cute little swimsuits on her and these cute little hats." She smiled at Christian, "I remember being able to do that with Eiley, now she likes picking her own things."
"They're all growing up way too fast, they need to stop." He chuckled, "Want another one?"
Viviana widened her eyes, "I think three is enough, baby. As much as I love the kids, I think three is a perfect number for us."
Christian laughed, "I was joking, baby. I don't think we could handle another kid. Plus, I got eight more years of playing baseball, I can't have you going through that again and me missing more. I want to be able to be with the kids whenever I want." He turned, looking at Sawyer who splashed him and Christian splashed him back.
"I mean, we're in the offseason now, which I'm glad about. We can spend a lot of time with the kids and maybe take them on trips. Maybe go to Miami and visit my family then go out to Cali?" Viviana suggested, "I think the kids would really like that. Plus, I think our parents would enjoy being able to see the kids."
He nodded, "I agree. I think the kids would love to see their grandparents and aunt and uncles." He replied to her, splashing Sawyer back again, "You're a little punk!" Christian laughed.
Sawyer just laughed like crazy, splashing Christian again. He knew how to get Christian all fired up, so he continued to splash him.
"C'mere, Sawyer!" Christian said, picking Sawyer up and tossed him into the water, smiling as Sawyer just giggled and swam back over by him again, "You want to do that again?"
He nodded, "Yes, daddy! That was so fun!" He giggled and Christian tossed him again. He loved seeing his kids smile and laugh, made him feel much better about himself and parenting in general. Christian always had a feeling deep down that he was going to let the kids down, and he never wanted to do that. He wanted to make sure that the kids were loved and wanted to show them all the love he could.
Viviana smiled, "You're such a good dad, C."
"You think?" Christian asked.
"I know you are. I can see how happy those kids are and how much they love you." She told him, "They're so lucky to have you as their daddy."

"I really appreciate that, babe." Christian told his wife, "Truly. I like the reassurance, I think it helps me become a better person and a better dad."
Vivi kissed his cheek, "Baby, you're the best dad that I know. You are so amazing with the kids and this thing is just so natural for you, I don't know how you do it. Juggling sports, a family, marriage, other life things, it makes me jealous."
Christian leaned against the pool, "I do get stressed, trust me. I just am really good at hiding it. But, I've learned how to balance certain things and prioritize. I always make sure you guys come before sports and before myself. You guys come before anything else."
"I love you so much, Christian." She kissed him.
"I love you, Viv." He said, kissing her back and then pulled away, splashing her. "Ooops."

The team was celebrating their World Series win at a country club and all the families were invited. Christian was going to be recognized formally as the World Series MVP and they were getting their rings fairly early, which was surprising, seeing as though they had just won. He was excited to see his teammates again and their families.
He walked into the bedroom wearing a light blue button up shirt and a pair of black jeans, smiling over at Viviana who was curling the ends of her hair. "Hi, beautiful."
Vivi turned and looked at him, "Hi, handsome. I love that color on you.." She puckered her lips, receiving a kiss from her husband, "I am not really sure on what I want to wear. Do I go more casual like leggings and a nice top? A maxi dress? I have no idea."
"I can help you out.." Christian said, "Do you have options in the closet picked out?"
She nodded, "Yeah, I have a couple if you want to pick one out for me. Surprise me." She said, smiling at him before going back to her hair.
Christian walked in the closet, looking at the options she had laid out. He grabbed the white maxi dress and walked back out, "I think you'll look amazing in this.." He said, laying it on the bed.
She turned and looked at the outfit he chose, "I had a feeling you would pick that one," Viviana laughed, "You love seeing me in maxi dresses."
"Sorry that your body literally looks amazing in them. Shows off all your curves, like, damn." Christian said, sitting down on the bed as Viviana finished getting ready.
When they got to the party, Christian started mingling with everyone on the team that was there. It hadn't been long since they saw each other but Christian was so used to seeing everyone everyday, it was strange to go a couple of days without seeing them.
The kids of course got a lot of attention as they usually did. Everyone always wanted to know how Adelaide was doing and Sawyer loved getting attention from the guest, especially talking about baseball. He wanted to be just like his dad when he grew up, that's for sure.
It was always something that Christian took pride in as a father; Watching his son grow to basically become a mini version of himself. He saw so much of Viviana in Eiley and couldn't wait to see who Adelaide would emulate most when she started growing up. Life definitely threw some curveballs at the family, but they always knew how to overcome them in the end. It was something they were good at conquering together. After all, getting through things as a family was better than getting through things as individuals.
Both Christian and Viviana are unsure of what the future will hold for them and their children. They don't know if they'll welcome more into their life, they just have no idea. They're riding the wave just like everyone else. Christian signed a huge contract extension to stay in Milwaukee for the rest of his professional career, meaning he was staying put and wasn't planning on going anywhere else. He wanted his kids to be able to grow up in places they were familiar with. The adjustments were always tough on them, and if Christian could make it any easier for them, he would do it. Although they thought they were losing control of one another, love always finds a way to make it back into people's lives and change it for the better.
