It had been a couple of weeks since Sawyer was born and Viviana was still recovering from the pregnancy. She tried her best to be a great mom and help out Christian, but he either insisted that she rested, or she got tired really easily.
Viviana walked into the bedroom, where Sawyer laid in the bassinet sleeping sound. Christian looked over at her, "Hey you, Eiley napping?" Christian asked as he sat up, making room for Viviana to crawl in bed next to him.
"Yeah, you just gotta put Nemo on and she falls asleep before they even get to where he touches the butt." Viviana giggled, laying her head on Christian's shoulder, "Has he woke up at all?"
Christian shook his head, "Nope, he's been sleeping soundly. No problems. You doing okay?" He asked his wife, wrapping an arm around her. "I don't want you overworking yourself."
"I'm fine, baby. I'm not overworking myself. I wish I could get back in the gym so I can get into modeling..." Viviana sighed, closing her eyes, "But it's going to take weeks before I'm cleared to do any physical activity." She opened her eyes again, looking at him. "I don't know why, but I just feel miserable."

"Baby, why?" Christian frowned, rubbing her side. "It's gonna take a little bit, it was the same with Eiley."
Viviana shrugged, "I just want to be able to feel happy in my body. This happened after I had Eiley too, I guess it's just the fact that I want my stomach to be flat again, and just have a healthy looking body...I can't get work if I have stretch marks and a deflating bump.." She looked down at her hands.
Christian lifted Viviana's chin up and kissed her, moving his hand to her cheek. Once he pulled away, he looked in her eyes. "I tell you this all the time, but you are beautiful." He wiped under her eyes as tears started to fall, "I know you feel cruddy, and I know you want to be able to model again, but look at you! Gave birth to two beautiful kids and you're an amazing mother, Vi."
Viviana nodded, looking at him, unable to really think of things to say.
"Trust me, you are beautiful no matter what your body looks like. Even if you think it looks shitty, or you hate your stretch marks, hate the post baby stomach, I think it really signifies big accomplishments! You are so so beautiful. You may not see it, but I do, and a lot of others see it." Christian went on to tell her, wrapping his arms around her as he kissed the top of her head, "I love you so damn much, Viviana. I'm proud of everything you've accomplished, and I'm very lucky to call you my wife. I wouldn't want anyone else to be."
She put her hand on his cheek as she leaned in and kissed him, lovingly. She was beyond blessed to have such an amazing man in her life that loved her despite all her flaws, all her insecurities, Christian loved every aspect of her. Giving birth to Sawyer was another amazing moment in her life, truly a blessing.

After the birth of Sawyer, Christian's anxiety was definitely at an all time high when he was at work and away from Viviana and his kids. He didn't want her to watch them alone, he wanted to be at home. He felt horrible. He's the father of those kids, he should be home taking care of them too, right? But, his career was important too. Christian had an image to live up to as he was coming off an amazing back-to-back MVP season.

Once he got to the stadium, he went into the clubhouse, calling his wife as soon as he was there.
"Christian, what's up?" Viviana asked on the other line.
"Just making sure you're okay...I just got to the stadium. I shouldn't be gone long...How are the kids?" Christian asked, taking a seat to relieve some of his anxiety.
"They're fine, babe. Eiley is watching Snow White and Sawyer's down for his nap right now. Trust me, I got this all taken care of. You go work, and I will see you when you get home. What were you thinking for dinner?"
Christian sighed, leaning back in the chair, "Something simple. I can go pick something up too if you want. Just so you don't have to cook."
Viviana giggled, "Babe, I can cook. Just because I had Sawyer a month ago doesn't mean I forgot how to cook." She laughed again, "I appreciate the concern, baby. But, we are good at home."
"Okay, babe. I love you. Let me know if you need anything." Christian told her, glancing over as he saw some of his teammates walk in.
"I will, baby boy. I love you too, go work and kick some ass." Viviana said before hanging up.
Christian took a deep breath, exhaling through his nose as he just put his hands over his face. He was beyond stressed. The littlest things stressed him out about being away from his family.
"What's up, Yeli? You look upset." Yaz commented as he looked over at his teammate.
"Just tired, that's all. Nothing big to worry about." Christian replied, lying. He didn't want to throw his problems on others, they didn't deserve that.
"Well, let us know if you need anything man, okay?" He asked Christian as he just nodded in response. Christian changed his shoes before going out on the field for BP.
Batting practice was rough to say the least for Christian. Only hitting 4 out of the ten pitches he was thrown. He just shook his head, sighing as he took his bat with him off the field. Not even caring about how poor his performance was. He just wanted his wife and his kids.
Baseball was the last thing he wanted to focus on.
"Yelich, you're off your game today." Ryan told Christian as he approached him after BP. "What's going on with you?"
Christian just sighed, shaking his head, "I just feel horrible. I should be at home with Viviana and Eiley and Sawyer. Sawyer's just a little baby and his dad isn't even home to be there with him." He told him, taking a seat on the bench, "I don't even want to focus on baseball right now, and that's so unlike me. But, Viviana's at home with two babies and I'm not there helping her.."
Ryan patted his shoulder, "You need to just take a deep breath and allow yourself to breathe. You're stressing yourself out." He knew how stressed out his friend was, how overwhelmed he was feeling, and he couldn't do anything really to change it but talk to him.
"I just want to be able to make them happy.." Christian whispered.
"And you do! Those kids adore you, C. Viviana's a strong woman, she's got it. She knows to call you if she needs anything, and so far? She's doing pretty good!"
Christian nodded, listening to what his good friend had to say. Maybe he was right. Maybe Christian needed to allow himself to breathe and allow things to be processed. His mind always went to the worst; Assuming bad things were going to happen if he wasn't home. That wasn't the case at all, but, with a newborn baby in the home, Christian couldn't help but feel miserable.
He just wanted to make Viviana happy.

Mother of Learning
Zorian is a teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy. He is a driven and irritable young man, consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, whom he resents for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, he has no time for pointless distractions or paying attention to other people's problems. As it happens, time is something he is about to get plenty of. On the eve of the Cyoria's annual summer festival, he is killed and brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take a train to Cyoria. Suddenly trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, Zorian will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery before him. And he does have to unravel it, for the time loop hadn't been made for his sake and dangers lurk everywhere... Repetition is the mother of learning, but Zorian will have to first make sure he survives to try again - in a world of magic, even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill. ********************************** If anyone is interested, I have a story-related worldbuilding site that can be found here. I don't update it as often as I should, but there is a fair amount of content there already. It also contains a page with all the fanart, fan translations, audio books and the like - you can reach it directly by clicking this link. I have a patreon account for those kind people that want to give me money. It also contains info for those who want to donate via paypal. The story was originally posted on fictionpress, back in 2011. When I reached chapter 91, I started uploading the story to RoyalRoad, one chapter per day. The story will continue to be updated on fictionpress as well as here, and can be reached by clicking on this link if somebody is interested, though at this point there is nothing there that isn't also on RoyalRoad. ********************************** The cover you see on the side has been made by a fellow RoyalRoad user Sydorow. A Soul's Wish
Hey everyone! Just a heads up. I am adding the Traumatising content tag because some parts might be considered as, well, traumatising. I want to point out though, it is not my aim to make a story that focuses on this aspect. Yuki is a college freshman that has been pulled into a fantasy world full of magic and monsters. Without any special talents, at level one, and with only a mere wisp as a companion he will need to figure out how to survive in the hostile environment. As he grows stronger and travels across this new world, he will find friends, make enemies, learn betrayal, overcome obstacles and grow into a hero. Hopefully. His goal? To save a princess, of course. A classic adventure fantasy story set in another world. Cover by the lovely Sara Lucasi Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saralucasi/
