Christian had to be at the stadium early for the first round of playoffs. Nerves rushing through his veins as he was determined to perform his best and make sure that he didn't let himself or his team down. Or especially let Viviana down. Which was hard to do; She was always proud of him no matter what, it was hard for Vivi to find something to get ashamed of with Christian, she didn't really understand everything about baseball, but she did as much as she could.
Viviana got dressed in a pair of ripped high waisted jeans, a white camisole, and grabbed one of Christian's tattered and beaten up jerseys, putting that on over the cami. She walked into Eiley's room and smiled at her as she picked her up, "Hi, sweet girl! Are you ready to go see daddy play baseball?" She kissed Eiley's cheek and sat her on the floor. "Don't go anywhere, I'm gonna get your outfit then we're going to get dressed!" She looked in Eiley's drawers, "Hmmm...What should we wear, Lee? How about..." Viviana tapped her chin, grabbing a shirt that read, 'My dad's the MVP' and had his number on the back and a little pair of polka dotted leggings. "I think you will look so cute in this, huh?" Vivi picked her back up and got her all changed, walking with her out into the living room. She got some last minute things before strapping Eiley into her seat and slung the diaper bag over her shoulder and carried Eiley down to the car.
When they got to Miller Park, it was still an hour until the game started. Viviana pushed Eiley in her stroller towards the clubhouse and some of the teammates waved, stopping to say hello to Eiley and making her giggle.
"Christian's in the lounge..." Orlando said, Vivi nodded and walked in there.
Christian heard a noise and turned his head towards the door, smiling when he saw Viviana and Eiley walk in. "There you guys are! Thought you got lost." He laughed, giving Viviana a kiss and unstrapped Eiley from her seat and held her, kissing all over her face. Eiley giggled all high pitched and cute like she usually did when Christian kissed all over her face.
"She's been babbling all morning, whenever I mention you, she starts babbling and trying to say dada, but can't quite get it out. She just is with mama and baba right now.." Vivi laughed, "But gets super excited when I say we're going to watch daddy play baseball."
"You excited to see me play baseball, Eiles? Maybe I'll get a homerun for you." Christian said as he held Eiley on his hip. "My practice went surprisingly well this morning, despite how nervous I've been.."

Vivi looked at him, "Why are you nervous, babe? You're already killing the game, you're going to do great."
"Because, you know how I get. I don't like letting people down and if I do that, then I just feel like a failure." Christian shrugged. "I'm hoping for the best."
Viviana rolled her eyes, "You're not going to be a failure. All the adrenaline is going to rush through your body and you're gonna do absolutely amazing, okay?"
Christian nodded, "Glad I have you here with me."

During the game, Vivi and Eiley were in the club suite with the wives and girlfriends who were at the game as well. The team was doing great, only the bottom of the fourth when Christian made his second appearance at the plate; He had hit a double his first time around and helped score in some runs. This time, he was ready to hit a home run.
The pitch came, Christian swung the bat, hitting the ball and the ball fouled off his knee, causing him to go down immediately.
"Oh, that looked like it hurt..." Larisa said, looking down.
Vivi looked around, trying to see, "Wait, what did he do?"
"Looks like when he hit the ball, it went off his knee, or he hit his knee and he just went down..." She sighed, "Doesn't look good..."
"What do you mean it went off his knee, what?" Vivi was starting to panic; Her fiance was down on the ground, in devastating pain, and she had no idea on what happened. "Is he okay?"
Meg shook her head, "I think he's in a lot of pain, he hasn't even tried to get up yet. He sat up and then just laid his head back down, and looked like he was hurting.."
Larisa went up to Vivi, "You go see what's going on, I'll watch Eiley. Seriously, go see what's going on."
Vivi nodded, taking a deep breath, "Okay.. Thank you.." She said before making her way to the trainers.
Christian sat down, taking deep breaths as he tried to get the stinging sensation away. The medical trainer walked out, checking how he was doing. It was hard for Christian to even speak; The pain from his knee was shocking his whole body, practically making him feel like the rest of his body just went numb. The trainer straightened out his leg and he winced in pain, drawing his leg right back up since the upright didn't seem to hurt as bad.
"Yelich, are you able to get up and try and walk it out to the medical trainer?" Counsell asked him and Christian just took a deep breath, before forcing himself off the ground, getting to his feet and just hunched over, feeling the burning pain all over again in his knee.

"C'mon, we'll walk you there...Can you put any weight on your leg?"
Christian nodded slowly as he put the slightest pressure on it and instantly it felt like he knew he had done something wrong to his knee. He walked a couple steps, having to stop and just hunch over, hands on his legs as the pain was starting to shoot up his leg. The crowd clapped and cheered for him as he limped his way to the medical trainer, putting as much weight as he could onto the other leg. He tossed down his helmet in the dugout, pissed as all hell when he got down the stairs. This was something he never thought would happen.
"I know it's fucking broken.." Christian said, sitting down on the table, wincing as they helped get his legs up as well. "I've sprained things, but this is definitely a break." He could feel the pain throbbing throughout his knee, and he just put his hands over his face, taking a deep breath to help subside the pain.
Viviana walked in the trainers' room and went over by Christian. "Baby..?" Christian looked over, taking a sigh of relief, some anxiety lifted when he saw his fiance.
"Where's Eiley?" He asked, looking up at her.
"Larisa has her. I had to come and make sure you were fine. I didn't even see what happened, I just saw you go down..." Vivi said, running her fingers through his hair. "Did you hit your ankle? Your knee?"
"I fouled a ball off of my fucking knee, which is something I've never done before and of course it happens here.." Christian shook his head, propping himself on his elbows, "It instantly swelled up and started throbbing like crazy.."
Vivi frowned, kissing the side of his head. "I'm sorry, baby..Larisa just said you went down quick and I didn't even see it happen, I was really nervous. I got here as soon as I could," She signed, "I wish I could do something to help.."
Christian sighed, "You just being here is enough. I just know my season's done." He shook his head again, "Fucking idiot move on me.."
"Hey, you didn't know it was going to happen. Slip ups happen, baby. Don't go blaming yourself. It was just a weird move that happened..." She pulled the chair over and sat next to him. "This does give me an excuse to baby you and be nurse Vivi, though." She giggled.
He smiled slightly, leaning over and kissed her, softly. "Eiley's going to be confused as to why I'm on crutches.." Vivi laughed, and shrugged. Christian laid back down, putting his arms over his eyes, "I just wish they would fucking hurry up with the pain reliever, it's throbbing so bad.."
Viviana reached and grabbed one of his hands, kissing it gently. "Just deep breaths, babe. Try not to think about it.." She grazed her thumb over his hand. The trainers walked back in, wheeling in a wheelchair.
"We're gonna take you back and do some x-rays so we can get an official diagnosis of what's going on.." One of them said. Christian nodded and Vivi helped him sit up then the trainers proceeded to help Christian get into the wheelchair, taking him down to get x-rays on his knee.
Vivi waited out in the clubhouse, anxious to find out what was wrong with Christian's knee. She had a good feeling his season was over and she wasn't ready to have him beat himself up, because she knew that would happen. She felt useless, honestly. Vivi couldn't do anything to magically heal his knee, she couldn't just snap her fingers and he would be fine to go back on the field and be the amazing athlete that he is.
Christian came back on crutches, knee in a brace, immobilizing it. "I knew it.." He said, Vivi walked up to him and just gave him a hug.
"I'm so sorry, baby..." She said, looking up at him. "Fractured? Did they say how long?"
"Uh they said anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks of me being out. Probably going to be on crutches for four of those weeks, or until I feel I can add more weight onto my leg...My kneecap is fractured, which is why it hurt the most when my knee bends. The first time they straightened my knee, I wanted to scream so loud.." Christian told her, "I'm just ready to go home.." He said, she could sense the sadness and disappointment in his tone of voice.
Vivi nodded, "I can carry your stuff. You worry about getting to the car.." She said, going into the locker room, grabbing his keys and his bag. "Larisa is going to meet us by the car with Eiley. We'll take your car back home, we can leave mine here."
Christian nodded, walking his way to the car on his crutches. Vivi walked behind him, making sure he was fine walking on them. She was going to be concerned and anxious for the next couple of weeks as Christian would heal.
