Three years. Three years since Christian lost one of his closest friends and teammate, Jose Fernandez. Today was going to be a rough day for him as he took it hard every year since the incident happened.
Viviana wanted to keep his mind off of it; Anything to make sure he was happy and preoccupied.
She packed up Eileys diaper bag and packed some snacks, walking into the bedroom where Christian laid, scrolling through his phone. "Hey you.." She said softly.
He looked up from his phone at her, "Hi. What are you doing?" He locked his phone, sitting up.
"We're going to the zoo today. I want Eiley to get a little fresh air and see the animals. Plus, you need a distraction today.." Viviana said, rubbing Christians arm. "I understand today is going to be tough, so I want to have a family day and have some fun." She kissed his cheek, standing up. "That okay?"
Christian sighed and nodded, "Yeah, babe. Want me to get anything ready?"
Vivi shook her head, grabbing her hands and pulled him up. "Nope, I got everything and Eiley's sitting in her playpen." She pulled him close to her so she could wrap her arms around his waist, "I love you."
He kissed her forehead then her lips, "I love you too. Thank you for coming up with this idea...I needed to get my mind off of it."
"Well, I know how hard you take this day and I don't like seeing you upset at all. It makes me upset."
Christian looked at her, then kissed her again. "I appreciate it." He said as he pulled away. "Let me get dressed and ready and then we can go."
Vivi nodded, smiling small at him, "Twenty minutes sound good?" Christian nodded before Vivi pecked his lips and walked out into the living room where Eiley was laying on her tummy playing with toys in her playpen. "Eiley Rose!!" She exclaimed and picked her up, "Look at cute you are!" Vivi giggled and kissed her forehead. "Ready to see all the monkeys and elephants and tigers?" She walked to the couch and sat down, sitting Eiley on her lap, "You got curly hair just like your daddy, I love it." Eiley just babbled, giggling and smiling at Vivi.
She couldn't believe how big Eiley was getting; Seemed like yesterday she was finding out she was pregnant with Eiley and nervous about how she was going to tell Christian. But now, she's happily engaged and living with the love of her life, who is having one of the best stretches of his career. She was beyond proud of Christian, and Viviana was starting to work on herself so she could get back into modeling. The agency wouldn't stand for the post baby body, Vivi needed her old form back.

"Ma ma ma." Eiley babbled out and Vivi smiles big.
"You saying momma, baby?" She kissed her cheek and Eiley repeated what she was babbling. "Oh my goodness! I am momma," She said, holding Eileys hands. "Baby!" Vivi called out to Christian.
Christian pokes his head from around the bathroom with his toothbrush in mouth, "Hm?"
"Baby, she's saying momma!!" Vivi kept the big smile on her face. Christian hurried and finished brushing his teeth, walking out there.
"She said what now?" He asked, sitting next to them.
"She keeps babbling momma and she'll like reach for me when she says it. She's so young! I didn't expect her to start knowing who was what for a couple more months." Christian took Eiley, sitting her on his lap. "She's just getting too big too fast!"
Christian smiles, kissing Eileys head, "You talking to momma? Is that an MVP shirt?" He laughed, "Love it. You're gonna be the next MVP in this family, Eiley girl!" Eiley leaned forward, grabbing Christian's shirt and giggled as she did so. "I'm not momma, you gotta go to momma for that!"
Vivi smiles and laughed, getting up and walked to the fridge and got a bottle out of the fridge. She walked back and smiled at Eiley, "You hungry already? You only ate a couple hours ago, buggy!" She helped Eiley hold the bottle and Eiley drank from it. "I'm so proud that she's starting to learn how to hold the bottle. Makes our job easier." She giggled and smiled at Christian.
"It's crazy. Let's get her strapped up and let's go to the Zoo. I'm ready for a day with my girls." Christian said, picking up Eiley as he stood up and put Eiley in her car seat. "Just for a little bit, Eils. Gotta be in your seat for the car ride! Then we'll be at the zoo!" He picked up the seat and held the door open for Vivi as she walked out and he followed shortly after.

Viviana and Christian walked around the zoo, taking turns pushing the stroller as they let Eiley take everything in, wanting her to experience as much as possible. They tried to avoid getting noticed as much as possible, but a couple fans did stop and want to take pictures with Christian and even Viviana, but for the most part, it was a family day, and that's all Viviana wanted for Christian.
"You doing okay?" Vivi asked, looking over at Christian who was pushing the stroller.

He nodded, glancing at her, "Yeah, babe. I'm having a great day.." Christian replied, looking down at Eiley who was starting to fall asleep, "Think we should get going soon? Looks like she's ready for a nap.."
Vivi looked at Eiley and nodded, "Yeah, that would probably be a good idea. Were you thinking on doing anything else? Maybe grab some dinner to take home?" She suggested.
"That sounds fine.." He said as they walked to the entrance, "Maybe just some Chinese? Quick to pick up and take home, plus, one of us can run in and get it while the other sits in the car with Eiley, because I'm sure she'll be cranky if we wake her up."
Vivi nodded, "Oh, yeah, definitely. Plus she didn't really sleep well last night. She woke up at like one in the morning just wanting to be held. So I rocked her back to sleep, but she was up an hour later, so I just stayed up in case that would happen..." She lifted the carrier into the car and strapped Eiley in then got in the passenger seat.
Once Christian got in the car, Viviana leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I had fun today.." He said, looking at her, "Definitely some needed family time. Especially with me being so busy." He told her, and she nodded, grabbing his hand.
"Anytime, baby. I'm always wanting to have family time when you have an off day. Allows us to be together and help Eiley together, y'know?" She squeezed his hand.
Christian nodded, kissing her hand. "Babe, any time I get to spend with you and Eiley is time I don't take for granted. I know I'm busy a lot with my schedule, but, I promise to make as much time as I can. Even if it's just sitting on the couch, watching some TV for a little while? I cherish it." He smiled at her, "I got my girls and that's all I need."
Vivi smiled, looking at their hands. "I know, and especially on days like today, anything to keep you occupied and keep your mind off of things, I want to make sure I can provide a least something for you." She said, looking at him again.
"I appreciate it more than you know, babygirl. Seriously. Today's always a tough day every year that it passes, but, just knowing that I have an amazing support system helps me get through it." Christian shook his head, "Man, he would've love to meet Eiley, he would be her best friend." He laughed.
"I bet, he was always so outgoing and Eiley would've adored him from the second she met him." Viviana commented, noticing how Christian's mood changed. "And I'm sure he's looking down and just saying how proud he is of his best friend."
"I hope he is, too." Christian commented, "He was one of my best friends. Made me feel welcome and comfortable in Miami starting out in the big leagues, I definitely never took him for granted. He was a well loved guy." He told her, looking over at her before paying attention to the road.
Viviana nodded, giving his hand another squeeze for reassurance. "Baby, you got so many people that are proud of you and what you've accomplished in such a short amount of time. You are always exceeding expectations and going above and beyond to make sure people are happy and loved. That's one thing I truly love about you." She kissed his hand, softly. "Definitely means a lot to me, and I'm sure it means a lot to others as well.."
Christian glanced over at her, "I appreciate that, Viv, thank you." He looked at Eiley through the rear view mirror, "I can't get over how I'm a dad.." He said, shaking his head in disbelief. "I'm 27, going on 28, it's something I never thought would happen this early."
Viviana smiled small at him, "I know, it's crazy. But, I think having Eiley really made us cherish time together more and really start to learn new life lessons not only for ourselves but for us as a couple." She told him, "I have definitely learned to prioritize things and have learned to love what I have and slowly starting to love myself again.."
"You're beautiful, Vi. I always tell you that, and I'm glad that you are working on you." He brought her hand to his lips, kissing it softly, "I agree with you on the learning life lessons. Having a kid has definitely opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on life. But, I wouldn't want it any other way."
