《Hidden Riches》Chapter 37

I woke up the next morning with Logan laying on top of me. He was so heavy. His arms were wrapped tightly around my body and his head lay on my chest

He was still fast asleep.

"Logan," I grunted. "Logan, get off of me."

He let out a grumble, then released me. I sat up from the bed and stretched. My back loudly cracked.

The sun was shining brightly into the room, almost blinding me. I realized I was naked, then wrapped the blanket around my body quickly. As I did that, I saw the ring on my finger. The beautiful diamond ring. I smiled at it. Finally, we were engaged.

Logan had surprised me. I hadn't expected this at all. Our meetings have been sparse these days. I was unable to catch any hints of him planning this. Whether I was surprised or not, I couldn't be happier to be wearing this ring on my finger.

Wait...

What do I tell my parents?! Will they be okay with it?! Will they be mad?! Do they still like Logan?! Do they trust him enough to marry their daughter?!

I turned to my fiancé in the bed. He had quickly gone back to sleep. He was in nothing with sweatpants. His hair was messy, his lips swollen. I smiled at his face and ran my fingers through his dirty blonde hair. "I love you, Logan," I whispered. "Thank you for wanting to marry me."

"I love you too, Bunny." A deep voice said.

I jumped up from the bed and almost yelped. I held the covers over my body and looked down at Logan. His eyes were still closed. He hadn't moved an inch yet.

Was he joking? Is he really asleep?

I climbed back onto the bed and looked down at his face. It was completely the same: gorgeous.

"Logan?" I said.

His eyes quickly opened, startling me. "Goodmorning, my love. How are you this fine day?"

"Logan! Don't pretend you're asleep!" I yelled at him.

"You always wake up before me, Bunny. I wanted to try waking up before you today."

"Then set an alarm!"

I turned to the alarm clock in the corner. It was ten a.m. Time to get the day started. I need a shower. I stood from the bed and grabbed a few clothes from the drawer in the corner.

"Are you going to take a shower?" Logan asked in a deep, sexy voice, making me turn his way.

"Yes,"

"Let's take one together," he said, sitting up.

"No thanks, Logan. I'd rather take one alone."

"Why not? I saw all of you last night. I might as well see it again." He said, still smiling.

"THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS, LOGAN!"

"Then let's make it work."

Arguing with him was like trying to push an elephant with its feet glued to the ground. It was impossible, I mean.

"When we're married, we can shower together all the time," I said, throwing my clothes onto the bed.

"Let's get married today then."

"No way. Are you insane?"

"Insane for your body." He wiggled his eyebrows and licked his bottom lip.

"Shut up, Logan." I giggled.

"You shut up."

"Logan!"

"Bunny!"

I glared at him. He smiled back. I tried my best to be professional, but I couldn't help but laugh at his goofy smile. He laughed with me too.

"Who was at the door last night?" I asked him, remembering the dreaded interruption.

"Bethany."

"Bethany? Tim's personal assistant?"

"Yes."

"What did she want?"

"She just told me a few things I needed to know for work tomorrow." He yawned.

"Why? She's not your PA. Besides, how does she know where you live?"

"Tim probably told her."

I began to have a strange feeling in my chest. I knew this feeling. It was the same feeling I had when I met Heather.

I took a shower (alone) then dressed in one of Logan's black shirts and my purple leggings.

I went down the stairs and into the kitchen as Logan went into the bathroom to take a shower.

I wanted to cook breakfast for him. I swung open the fridge and stared at the delicious food inside. I pulled out eggs, bacon, and toast.

I turned on the stove and placed the skillet onto the flame. I began to cook the food.

I loved to cook, but today I tried extra hard for Logan. I wanted to make it even better since I hadn't cooked for him in a long time.

I cracked a few more eggs into the skillet. They loudly sizzled. Hopefully, we have enough.

I yelped as Logan's big strong arms circled around my waist. "Hello again, Bunny." He whispered into my ear. "What's for breakfast?" He warm scent enveloped me. His cologne smelled so good.

"Eggs, bacon, and toast. The usual." I shrugged. "Are you okay with that?"

"We should have pancakes, sometime."

"Can you make pancakes?"

"I've made them for you before, haven't I? Let me make you pancakes."

"How about tomorrow?"

"Why not today?"

"I already have breakfast made, Logan."

"We could still have pancakes."

He was so stubborn. A lot like me in a way. But he was being more stubborn than average today.

"Why do you have to argue with me about everything?"

He chuckled. "Because you're just so cute when you're irritated."

"Umm, Thanks." I gave him a lopsided smile.

"You're welcome, Bunny. Or should I say, Mrs.P-"

I quickly spun around in his arms and placed a finger on his lips, silencing him. "Not yet."

"Why not?" He said against my finger.

"Because I want it to be official the first time you call me that."

"You wearing that ring is already official for me." He took my hand from his mouth and kissed it.

I smiled at his kiss, then turned back to the stove before the food could burn.

We waited at the table for me, watching me closely.

I dropped bread onto the toaster and stood there, waiting for them to finish.

I looked back Logan, wondering if he was being as impatient as I was. He hadn't moved at all, still staring at me with a smile.

Why does he have to watch me like that? It's making me nervous.

I finished cooking the food, then scooped the meal onto two plates. I slid the plate across the table to him. I pulled my chair out to sit down across from him. Before my butt could touch my seat, Logan wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me to his side.

"Logan, what are you doing?"

"Sit on my lap and eat your breakfast there."

I quickly gave in this time. I didn't feel like arguing with this elephant. Besides, he did have a fine lap.

I sat my plate down next to his. He slid his chair back a little, then tapped his hands on his lap seductively.

He pulled me down and sat me onto his lap. He dug his face into my hair. "You've been using my shampoo, haven't you?"

"I ran out of mine."

"Want me to buy you more?" He took a strand of my hair into his hand and twirled it around his fingers.

"No, I like yours better," I said, scooping a spoonful of eggs into my mouth. "Don't get food in my hair."

We ate in silence, enjoying our meal. At one point, he placed his hand over my hand with the diamond ring. It made my heart flutter.

Thank God for this man. He's the world to me. Even if he was an annoying elephant.
