《Grace》Chapter 31

After all that happened, Dro thought it'd be a great idea for us to leave the states for a while. Rico is on a break from school so we all can relax for a week. I debated on bringing my sister with me but she'd much rather go to England to meet Tarzan's parents.

"Mommy, how do you say the place again?" Rico asked as we sat in the private plane.

"Italy," I broke it down for him. Yes, Dro is taking me to his home country and I'm very excited.

"Dro! Look!" He picked up the paper to show his drawing of the Eiffel Tower. Alessandro showed Rico a bunch of pictures to help him understand where he's from and the countries close by, apparently the Eiffel Tower stuck.

"That's actually not bad kid," Dro smiled at my sons drawing. He looked at me. "He's really good, Grace,"

"Coming from you that means a lot," I smiled at them interacting. Dro is an amazing artist, so I trust his judgement.

As they conversed with each other, I spent my time rubbing my belly. I've never gotten the chance to really bond with my baby girl. It's actually really exciting that I'm having a baby. Especially a girl! I get to do more with her than I am with Rico. Put her hair in little bows, pinks everything. Dro better be prepared.

"You okay, Bella?" Alessandro broke me out of my trance. The Italian rolled off of his tongue like water. This man is truly beautiful.

"Yeah I'm fine," I smiled at him. A real one this time and he nodded.

"It doesn't seem like it was so long ago that I saw you," Dro's mother pulled me into a huge hug. "Now I finally have a granddaughter on the way,".

"Mommy who's that?" Rico tugged on my top but hid out of her view.

"That's my mommy," Dro picked Rico up, which made him laugh. "Say hi," Rico looked at Dro's mother then smiled.

"You're pretty," Rico blushed after waving at her. She reached for him and took him from Dro. She walked away with him while talking about cookies.

"Your home is beautiful," I told Dro as I rubbed my belly.

"This is my mothers home, not mine. You'll see mine later," He walked away from me and headed into some room.

"Alessandro!" A girl squealed which made my eyebrows raise. I walked over to where he went to see two young girls squeezing the life out of him.

"Is that Grace?" The one with blue eyes asked. She let go of Alessandro and walked over to me.

"Hi, I'm Ashley," she waved at me. "His sister and that's Aria," She pointed to the smaller girl. Sister? I've heard nothing about sisters from his mothers side. But then again I thought his mother was dead. So secrets are starting to not phase me.

They're both so beautiful, it made me overlook myself. "So nice to finally meet you," Aria smiled but didn't let go of her brother. Out of habit, I began rubbing my stomach.

"Are you pregnant?" Ashley asked and Dro laughed.

"Yes, she is," He let his sister go and wrapped his arms around me.

They both started jumping around. "Please say it's a girl!"

"It is," I laughed. "My feet are starting to hurt," I mumbled to Dro.

"I'll be back," He told them. "I'll bring you to my old room so you can rest," We walked down the hallway and I took the opportunity to look at the pictures hung up on the wall.

"Who's that?" I asked about a girl that was in almost all the pictures but I've never met her. He looked at the picture I pointed at but ignored me. So I just left it alone. "This is your old room?"

"Don't judge me," He laughed at my facial expression. Spider-Man is literally everywhere. Even on the ceiling fan. "I haven't lived here since I was ten,"

"I see that," I laughed. "But it's cute, shows you had a childhood," I plopped down on the bed and sighed. It feels so good to be resting. My arm still hurts from that day but standing hurts even more, especially with my feet swelling.

"Rest yourself," He kissed my forehead then left the room. I'm not going to "rest myself". My son is no where in my sight and it's not like I don't trust his family, I just don't know them. My eyes began to flutter as I heard them laughing. Half of me wants to fight this sleep but the other half is throwing his blanket over me and closing my eyes.

"She's beautiful," Aria whispered to me. My mother started baking cookies with Rico while I caught up with my sisters. No, I don't speak of them often nor does anyone know about them. Not even Reno and Tarzan.

"How old is she?" Ashley asked.

"23," I simply said. "Enough about Grace, how have you guys been?"

"I'm trying to move to California," Ashley told me but I made a face. She's been saying this since she was 12, she's 19 now. Every few years it's fir a different reason. One year it was to be a dancer, the next few years it was to play volleyball, now what?

"Why all the way over there?" I asked.

"I want to be a model," She rolled her big eyes.

"Then New York is the place to be," my mother said out of no where.

"No it's not. Go to California, if you want," I told her. She's basically a secret, unless she opens her mouth then no one knows that she's family.

"Mom won't let me go alone which means I have to wait until this one turns 18," She pointed to Aria. Aria shrugged her shoulders.

"Not my fault. I didn't tell you that, mom did," Aria laughed then left the room.

"She's about to go play," My mom said to me. Soon I heard the sound of a piano. In our own way, all of my mothers kids are artists. I draw and paint, Ashley can dance and she likes to consider herself art because of how pretty she is. But Aria, she has it all. She's pretty, she can sing, play instruments and she can paint.

"Dro! I'm baking cookies!" Rico's eyes lit up like New York at night. Seeing him so happy and comfortable with my family made me happy. He's not my kid but I plan on being there for the rest of his life.

"What kind of cookies?" I asked with wide eyes. He gestured for me to come closer.

"Sugar cookies," He whispered. "And here's the cool part," He giggled and I smiled at his excitement. "Nana is making it from scratch,"

My eyes widened. "Whaaaaat? No way?! Are you helping her?" Nana? Really?

"Mhm. Getting my-" He paused. "Nana what'd you say?"

"Mettendo le mani sporche" She slowly said to him. He repeated it and I laughed.

"Getting your hands dirty huh?" I ruffled his curls and he ran back to the kitchen with my mom.

Everyone seemed occupied with something so I took this opportunity to sneak away to an all pink bedroom. This room belonged to my sister. Not Sarah, my mother had four kids. A lot went on in my late sisters life and she took it upon herself to end it.

That's why when Grace first held the gun she used to kill Andre, up to her head I freaked out. I witnessed Alessia take her own life. I didn't want to deal with that again. I haven't told Grace about her yet because I hate reliving that day.

I'll eventually tell her, just not now.
