《Grace》Chapter 24

"I'm glad you talked to me about it rather than just continue to ignore me," Dro smiled at me and I shyly smiled back. Telling him about the nightmare I had was hard because only my mother knows about it and even she forced it out of me.
When we went to Jamaica, I've talked to him about the house I couldn't stop staring at but I just hate thinking about it. That was a rough time in my life and whenever I think about it, it's like I can't function right.
"How's Rico dealing with the transition?" Dro asked as he lit his blunt.
"Proper English is the hardest part for him but other than that, he's good," I took a few hits before passing it back to him.
He didn't say anything except stare at me. His eyes started to get lower with each hit he took. His index finger played with my curls but his eyes never left my face. "You're honestly so beautiful," He told me.
No matter how many times he tells me I'm beautiful, I still react the same way. Blushing. I smiled at him but didn't say anything. He chuckled at my sudden shyness. As he passed me back the blunt, he picked me up to sit on his lap. While I took hits, he kissed all over my neck and pulled my shirt off.
I laughed. "Dro,".
"Hmm?" He looked up at me from my breasts. "Please?" He gave me puppy eyes with his big brown eyes.
I nodded and within a few seconds, my bra was thrown across the room. I helped him get me out of my shorts and from there, he took control.

"You're not tired?!" I asked him.
"Babe, it hasn't been that long," He whined. I could care less, continue to whine if you want to.
"It's been two hours!! I'd like to keep my walls!" I pushed him away from me. I know that I'm going to be limping for a while because he put it down. The first time we had sex was amazing and almost passionate but today? He pounded my damn brain cells out.
"What're you doing?" Dro laughed as I looked around the living room for my bra.
"Looking for my bra," I told him with a mean mug. "Since you wanted to be fucking Tom Brady and throw my shit,"
He laughed then came up behind me and rubbed my ass. "Another round?"

"You're going to ruin my Fallopian tubes," I laughed. "Fuck it! I'll just not wear a bra,"
"Where are you going dressed like that?" Dro asked with his arms crossed.
"Getting Rico," I looked at him with a stale face.
"I'm coming with you, you're not about to have fathers getting their kids looking at your ass," Dro threw on clothes then grabbed his keys. "And we're taking my car,"
"You always want to be this macho man," I rolled my eyes at him, next thing I know I feel a sting on my ass. "Ow! What the f-"
"I told you about rolling your eyes," He smirked and I stuck my middle finger out at him. "I just fucked you,"
"I hate you," I turned away from him while he laughed like a hyena. His right hand found its way in between my thigh and it stayed like that the whole ride.
Music played as we drove to the preschool, sun shining, and I'm happy. It's been years since I've been happy. Life has a funny way of playing out, maybe I should've left Andre the minute he started beating me but I stayed and found way better.
"What's on your mind?" Dro asked and gripped my thigh.
"You," I smiled. "What's on your mind?"
"Our future," He said.
"What about it?" I asked him and he remained silent. "Dro?"
"I'm scared for you and especially for Rico," He said. "People genuinely hate me. I haven't been the nicest person on this planet and they'd do anything to hurt me, even if that means hurting you guys,"
"I-" I have no idea what to say. I've thought about it before but thinking about it hurts. I'd choose my son over everything and a possible chance that he'd be harmed because of a man I love, scares me.
"I'm sorry," He softly said and before he could say anything else, he parked at the school and I got out.
My hands shook as I walked into the front office. I can hear him walking behind me but I paid him no mind. His arm snaked around my waist as we waited in line. Some of the moms stared at him and some stared at the both of us.
"She really came to pick up her kid dressed like that?" I heard one mom whisper to another. I looked down at the shorts and top I have on without a bra.

"Don't listen to them, they're mad because they're shaped like recycling bins," Dro muttered in my ear and I bursted out laughing. He chuckled along with me while they stared.
"I can see her ass cheek," Another mom said after we stopped laughing.
"No you can't," Dro answered her. "Because her ass is all up on me. Stop talking shit, the fact that she can afford this place should mean something. Forget how she's dressed,"
After he said that no one else even said anything. Another mom walked in with shorts and a hoodie on, an entire Fashion Nova outfit. She turned to me and smiled. "You got those from Fashion Nova?"
"Yeah," I nodded. She smiled at me and her aura is just so pure and positive. Before I could add anything onto my simple answer, the bell rang and kids poured out of the double doors.
Rico came out as one of the last kids. He came out with a pretty little girl with big curly hair. They held hands until the little girl saw her mommy who just so happened to be the girl I was just talking to. The girl ran into her mothers arms, gushing about my son.
"Mommy, that's my girlfriend," Rico said to me as Dro picked him up.
"What's her name?" Dro asked him and he smiled.
"Princess," He looked over at the little girl whose mother is now listening to our conversation.
"Her name is Taylor," She laughed.
"He calls me princess because he says I'm a princess," Taylor answered. I bursted out laughing, these toddlers have a better love life than I do and they can barely talk.
"Well shit," The lady laughed along with me. "I'm Rebecca,"
"Grace," I smiled at her. "Maybe we can all hang out so Princess and Prince Charming can hang out more,"
"I'd like that," She smiled then pulled out her phone. We exchanged numbers then went our separate ways.
"That girl looked like you," Dro said on the way back to my house.
"No she doesn't," I rolled my eyes. "It's okay to look at her," I teased.
He gave me a look then kissed his teeth. "I wasn't looking at her like that, but I did notice similarities,"
"Like what?" That girl looked nothing like me, we're complete opposites.
"Chin, lips, cheekbones," Dro laughed. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell is so funny.
"What's funny?" I stale faced him.
"I'm kidding, you guys look nothing alike," He chuckled while I rolled my eyes. He's so annoying, it's not even funny.
"You aggravate me," I told him and he kept laughing. Thankfully he pulled into myth driveway before I could threaten him. I just need him to try me one last time before I hurt his feelings.
"Can I go play?" Rico asked when we got inside and I nodded. As soon as he was out of sight, Dro pulled me into him.
"I love you," He mumbled against my ear.
"I love you too, baby," I smiled. He's expressing himself more to me and the same with me. We're growing together and I'm loving it.
His phone started ringing and he excused himself. I waited for a while as he talked on the phone but it got tiring so I started cooking dinner. He stayed on the phone for over 30 minutes and by the time he hung up my curry chicken was almost done.
"Are you okay?" He walked in with a stale face. I tried to touch his arm and he shrugged me off. "Babe,"
"Leave me the fuck alone!" He calmly said. He's pissed. Whenever Dro says anything that calm but in that tone, he's pissed.
"Dro," I softly said. "You don't have to be rude,"
"Grace, I-" He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm leaving,"
"Dro!" Rico called out. He stood in front of him with two toys. "Wanna play?"
For the first time in a very long time, Alessandro's eyes watered. "Not now,"
"Okay," Rico sounded hurt but went back to his room. Now I'm pissed.
"Are you fucking kidding me?! What could've made you so damn mad that you had to do my son like that?!" I yelled and he shook his head then walked out of the front door.
After this all happened, I sat with Rico eating dinner with a heavy heart. Did he really just leave like that? Whenever we argue, he'd at least give me a kiss goodbye until we both miss each other and make up. This time it feels different.
What the hell was that phone call about?
