"This my shit," He laughed as the song came on. He started rapping like Ja Rule while I cooked us breakfast.

"Oh hell nah," I laughed at him dancing. "I'm real," I sang along with him. He pulled me into him and we sang around the kitchen as if it were our song.

"You're burning the bacon!" He laughed.

I rushed over to the stove to turn it off. "It's your fault!" I laughed as he tried to hold his in.

"You're my JLo baby," He kissed my neck and I stared into his mesmerizing blue eyes. They slowly got darker and I felt a sharp sting. "You can never do anything right!" He yelled.

"Andre please!" The scenery changed and it's the day he came back from prison. I'm so happy that he's home and he's yelling at me. "It's just a scratch!" I tried to give him a paper towel for the scratch he got on his face from me trying to shave his beard. I insisted on going to a barber but he refused and told me to do it.

"Just a scratch?!" His large hands connected with my face. I gasped as I hit the floor with a thud. "Bitch!" He began kicking me over and over until I coughed up blood. "Oh baby,"

"Leave me the fuck alone! Get out!" I hit him back. "Get out!" I reached for the wet frying pan that I had just washed.

"You're gonna hit me?! I love you!" He yelled and I swung on him. "I love you!" He screamed as the pan connected with his back.

"Grace!" My body was shook. I gasped for air as my body jumped. My curly hair stuck to my neck like glue from my sweating. "Grace," A small light allowed me to see Dro hovering over me.

"That was a dream?" I asked and he nodded.

"More like a nightmare," He sighed then plopped down next to me. "You were crying and pleading for him to stop,"

"I'm sorry," I didn't mean to interrupt his sleep.

"Why're you apologizing? It's not your fault," Dro pulled my body into his and rocked us.

"I woke you up," I softly said. He checked his phone and the time read 4:32 AM.

"It's fine, I was almost awake anyways," He looked down at me and played with my curls. He kept tugging on them to see them recoil.

"I've always wanted to see your curls go boing," He laughed which made me laugh. Morning breath isn't going to stop me from being under him but we do need to brush our teeth.

"Dro, we have to brush our teeth," I laughed as he made a face halfway through me saying that.

"Okay! Okay! Okay!" He held up his hands like a little kid. Rico is a quiet kid so he doesn't do those things but sometimes I wish he did, because he'd look so adorable doing it.

"I've been thinking," I said before I got up. "I have to get my own place. My sister wants to come up here and my son definitely has to come up with her,"

"Okay," He looked sad. "I'll get you a place,"

"No," I shook my head. "I've been saving up and I can put down a payment for a house,"

"A house where?" He asked me.

I shrugged my shoulders and looked at his abs. "Maybe Brooklyn or something. I don't know! I just don't want you buying it because I want to be independent and it's uncalled for," I looked him in his eyes and he twisted his lips.

"Well can I at least get you a good realtor?" He questioned and I nodded.

Getting up out of the bed, I answered him, "Sure, why not?"

"Don't forget about me!" He yelled as I went back to the room where I'm supposed to be sleeping in. I brushed my teeth and took a shower then threw on my scrubs.

"I'm back," I teased as he watched tv without interest.

"Finally," He smirked and I don't think anyone can resist this smirk. He looks so sexy and it makes me want to kiss him.

I helped Alessandro stand up and walk to the bathroom. I helped him brush his teeth and shower, thankfully he feels a lot better than yesterday and I don't have to get in with him.

"Grace," Dro called my name as he turned off the shower.

"Yeah?" I helped him dry off his back then took off the bandages. I have to wrap new ones around him. My eyes went to the ceiling as he dried his lucky area because I don't think I want to see what he looks like just yet.

"Why'd you want to become a nurse?" He asked and I stopped wrapping the bandage. No one has ever asked me that question before. No one in my family, Andre, my friends. No one.

"You're the first person to ask me that," I smiled.

"Yeah?" He smiled at me and I nodded. "Well answer," He laughed.

"I like the feeling of helping people," I nodded. I continued wrapping him. "I've always been the type. Plus, what else could I do with a green card? That I'd actually like?"

"Good point," He kept staring at me which made me nervous. "Can I put on my boxers now?"

"Yeah" I finished with the bandaging and now I'm watching him walk into his everlasting closet then come back out with a black tshirt and joggers on. "Need help with the shoes?"

"Was just about to ask," He chuckled. He passed me some Jordan's then sat on the bed. I put his shoes on for him and he thanked me.

I checked the time and it's about 6:12 AM. Time for us to leave the house. Dro insists on driving but I'd like to live to see another day so I drove myself to school and he drove to wherever he needs to go.

"Hey!" Tre greeted me as I entered the class room.

"Hey!" I laughed then sat next to him. "How's my baby,"

"She misses you," He poured which made me laugh. "Come see her?"

"I have to let-"

"Dro know?" He cut me off then rolled his eyes when I nodded. "You're grown as hell,"

"Yeah but I have a job. I work for him," I told him and he sighed.

"You work for him? Half of me wants to know what you do and the other half is saying leave it alone," Tre spoke and I scoffed.

"I'm a nurse," I can't believe he'd try me like that. Before he could even say anything, our professor walked in and class began.

After class was over, Tre drove the both of us to work at the hospital. The car ride was completely silent and I refused to break the ice. What? He thought I'd sleep with Dro for money? Or be a hit man or some shit?

"Grace I'm sorry," He finally said as he parked in our usual spot.

"I'm just sick and tired of everything," I mumbled.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I don't want to be talked to anyway by anyone but especially by a man. These past few years have been hell because I allowed myself to be walked all over and I'm sick of it. I want my son back with me but I have no where for him to stay. Do you know how that makes me feel? Like I'm less of a mother, like I can't even provide for him. Do you also know how hard it is to find a nice place to stay?" I vented and it felt like everything lifted off my shoulders. I have no one to talk to about any of this.

"Why don't you just ask us for help? We know some areas," Tre said and I nodded.

"See? I have to ask for help. There's nothing wrong with it but still," I groaned. "Tomorrow I'll come over and you guys can help, if you want," I got out of his car and we walked into the hospital.

"How you feeling?" Reno asked me and I shrugged. My father's a dick and he always will be. I confronted him about being around Grace and he just knows how to push my buttons.

"Thank you for not saying anything to Grace," I patted his shoulders and he stared at me. "What?"

"I've never heard you be so polite," He chuckled. "She's changing you and I like it,"

"She sure is!" Tarzan hopped off of God knows where. "You're still the same savage but you have a different aura," he wiggles his hands in my face and I slapped it away.

"Tarzan," I gave him a serious face and he laughed. "I need to know about how we're doing," I asked the other two guys who have been silent this whole time.

Bigs spoke up first. Bigs is a Jamaican man who has been working for us since he came from Jamaica fifteen years ago. "More this month than ever. The guys are doing what they need to do, by the end of the year we should be making two mills on just this alone. The restaurant should be making us around three million," The restaurant and the club are a cover up for what we really do. I don't like the idea of cocaine being apart of the other side of our business but grandfather wants it to be and it makes us money. Marijuana being sold is what I contribute. Everyone in New York smokes weed so that's already a done deal, it's making us money.

The violence usually comes from the fact that we're doing so good. I'd say we have to competition because no one can do what I do. On my territory, no one else can put their shit on it and if they do then its problems. Half of the NYPD is bought out and they know when to stay out of it. The chief and the captain both know the stay out of anything that goes down between Columbo and anyone else. But I'm also very cautious just in case someone turns because someone always will.

"Alright and Han?" I asked. Jan is a very quiet, Japanese assassin. It sounds cliché but he knows martial arts and has killed with his sword. I know. Sounds crazy as hell but he's loyal and I respect him.

"We're good," He nodded and that's all he's going to say. That's all I need to know.

"Alright power rangers, disassemble," Tarzan joked but no one laughed at his joke. "Come on that was funny!"

"No not really," Reno chuckled and walked out of the room.

"Kinda lame," Han simply said and I laughed.

"Sorry bro," I laughed and hit his shoulder.

"Fuck y'all," Tarzan laughed as we all left the room. I checked the time on my phone and smiled. It's time to get Grace from her job and I'm actually excited. I love looking at her and being around her, she just makes my day every time I see her.

On my way to getting Grace my phone rang for a private number. I sighed and answered the phone but didn't say anything.

"How're you doing?" The person asked and I did a small smile.

"I'm doing great," I told them.

"No, your ribs are fractured. Who the hell did that to you?" The person asked and I sighed. "He did it huh?"

"Yes, but I have to go. I love you and I'll speak to you soon," I quickly hung up the phone and threw it down on the passenger side.

Grace stood outside waiting for me with Tre, my sisters boyfriend. Tre is cool but I don't really care for him. There's no a problem, I just never got to know him so it's whatever. Once Grace saw my car, a huge smile grew on her face which made a smile on my face.

"Hey!" She smiled as I stepped out of the car. I felt compelled to pull her into me so I did. My right hand snaked around her waist and pulled her against my body then planted a soft kiss on her lips.

"How was your day?" I asked her and she hid her face.

"Good," She tried to hide her smile then turned to Tre. "I'm sure y'all have met already,"

"Long time no see," Tre nodded at me with a smile on his face.

"Yeah I know," I nodded.

"You know you have a niece now?" He sounded annoyed at the fact that I haven't seen my niece yet.

"I'm aware now. Sarah should've said something," I pulled Grace into my side and she softly touched my ribs.

"Come see her soon," Tre played with his keys then looked to Grace. "See you tomorrow?"

"Yeah," Grace smiled at him. "Be safe!"

"Be very safe," I muttered as he walked away.

"What was that for?" Grace asked after I opened the door for her. I shook my head then went to the drivers seat. "Why're you acting so ugh towards him?"

"Because I feel bad for him. Sarah can get him and their child caught up into a world of shit," I'm very frustrated at Sarah because she knows better.

"I understand," She rested her hand on mine. I gave her a look then sped out of the parking lot. The whole ride was silent except for the hum of the luxury car and the occasional horn blowing.

"What'd you do today?" She asked me and I shrugged.

"Not much I can do," I gestured to my ribs and she nodded.

"I don't see how you're moving around the way you are with your ribs like that," She stared at my rib area.

"Wanna see me without a shirt on?" I teased her for staring.

"Already have," She winked at me and I laughed.

"But seriously, this isn't my first fractured rib. I'm kind of used to it by now," I shrugged. She stayed silent for the rest of the ride.

We got to the house and we both went straight for the shower. After showering she knocked on my door with papers in her hand. "Smoke?" She looked so cute when she did that. A huge smile merged into my face and I nodded like a child.

"Yeah, hold on," I held up a finger then quickly went back into the bathroom to pee.

"You're phone is ringing!" Grace yelled out.

"Just answer it!" I yelled back and tried to finish peeing. I flushed the toilet and zipped my pants back up then washed my hands.

"You ok?" I asked as I came back into the room and she looked bewildered.

"I answered your phone," She whispered. She held my phone out so I could take it.

"Who called?" Why is she acting like that? I have nothing to hide because I talk to no one.

"She said that she's almost to the house. Before I could even say 'hello'", She shook her head.

"Who?" I asked because now she has me worried. Who the hell knows where I live? And my phone number.

"You're mother Dro!" She yelled. "You basically told me that she's dead!" I pinched my nose and sighed.

"Grace," I softly said but she pushed my arm away.

"We're supposed to be honest about everything. You practically said she's dead, Dro," She groaned. "That's not something you're supposed to be lying about,"

"Grace, just listen to me okay? I don't talk about her like that beca-"

"Why not?" A sweet voice asked and my heart dropped. I slowly turned around to see my beautiful mother smiling at me. I silently groaned then walked over to my mother and gave her a tight hug. "My boy,"

"Who's this?" She asked with a smile and before I could answer she held her hand up. "Never mind," Graces mouth dropped after the way my mother acted.
