"What happened!"

King Casden states loudly running outside as Caspian slides down from Kaleo. His arms still securely holding a sleeping Artemis. The king turns to see the same silver dragon from last time landing beside the much larger dragon. He backs up hesitant about the dragon before seeing Navene sitting upon it. He turns his attention back to his son.

"Where is Vatalanie?"

"The wolves were running back by foot. They should be here shortly. Make sure the guards are aware to let them in."

The king turns to give the command before Navene interjects.

"I will go my king and stand at the gates for them."

Casden nods to the young man who takes off to the castle doors. The king speaks to one of the nearby guards requesting he follow the young man to guard him. The guard bows before following the path Navene took. Casden then turns back to his son who is still holding a sleeping Artemis. Chuffles coming from behind them has the prince turn around. The dragon's lean forward to sniff the sleeping savior. The king and the guards watching on with anxiety.

"Thank you Kaleo... Aneesa."

Caspian bows his head to the dragons. The dragons in return bow their heads to him. Taking one last glance at Artemis before they both press of the grounds taking off to get back home. Caspian turns around walking into the castle taking his beloved up to their chambers. Hard to believe it has only been a day since they wed and here she is again in trouble. He feels he may need to speak to her about this when she awakens this time.

He gently places her on the bed while King Casden calls for the doctor. It does not take long for knocking to be heard at his doors. He opens them and gets knocked to the side in the process. All the wolves including Tesara and Goliath bundle through to lay on their bed. Each one placing their heads protectively on Artemis. Caspian stands by the door stunned by their protective instincts while Navene steps into the doorway. He goes over to sit down on the couch in front of their bed while Caspian takes slow steps back to the bed. All the wolves whimpering lowly.

"What is wrong with the pack?"

Caspian voiced his thoughts not expecting to get an answer. Navene clears his throat before closing his eyes and going into meditation.

"They are protecting their charge."

He doesn't state further while Caspian just believes he is speaking of Artemis. It is not his business to speak of what he is not sure of. It has been less than a day since they consummated their vows. How is he to tell the crown prince that his wife is with child so soon. Normal doctors would not be able to tell for weeks... not hours. The wolves however can sense the change almost instantly.

Another round of knocks pull Caspian to open the door. The time the doctor is standing their along with the king and queen. He lets them through before closing the door. The king and queen go to stand by the young lad still sitting on the couch. His head bowed with his eyes closed while he concentrates on Artemis' heartbeat. The doctor however was not expecting such a view.

"OH HEAVENS!"

He shrieks making all the wolves lift their heads to look at him. The doctor holds his chest while halting all movements. Caspian seems amused recalling his first time around the pack. It is not common for wolves to be such however he has learned nothing ever is when it comes to his beloved.

The doctor clears his throat trying to control the shaking of his hands. He steps forward setting his bag on the desk near the bed before timidly walking forward all the wolves narrowing the eyes on the newcomer. Vatalanie does not like how he looks and lowly growls warning the man to not come further. The other wolves following their leader.

The doctor snaps up looking to the king for guidance. The king's eyebrows are furrowed by the actions of the wolves. He knows them not to be dangerous however protective. Unsure as to what to do, he steps forward making Vatalanie look to him.

"Vatalanie, he is just here to inspect Artemis. No harm will come to her."

He speaks gently as if speaking to a child. Vatalanie battles with her judgement while the doctor and king wait. After a minute she gets up and jumps off the bed. The other wolves doing the same as they stand around the bed in a circular form as they did the night of her arrival. The doctor looks to them all realizing they have encircled her. He gulps before beginning to lean forward. His hand almost reaching her face before a light blue glow emits from Artemis. The glow covering her like a bubble. Artemis still peacefully asleep inside. Everyone's eyes go wide while the wolves all bow. Navene doesn't open his eyes but can feel the difference in the room.

"My word"

The doctors words are low but everyone can hear them. He reaches forward to attempt inspecting her but upon touching the glowing barrier, he feels a shock and quickly retracts his hands. The bubble has created an electric field around her... protecting her from any unknown.

King Casden and Queen Analee step forward to inspect it while Caspian gets close to her. He goes to reach for her but is stopped by his dad. They all look to the field waiting to see if it disappears. After a few minutes, they realize it is not going to.

"Your Majesty, I can not check her vitals-"

"I know doctor.." He says not entirely sure what to say otherwise. "We will call upon you if and when it dissipates."

With that the doctor grabs his bad and bows to the royal couple before making a swift exit. Make sure to be careful where he steps with the wolves still lying with bowed heads.

"Son, have you ever seen this before?"

The queen ask still entranced by the protective barrier.

"No... She has never projected something like this prior." He reaches forward again but once again is stopped by his father who looks worried. He shrugs him off. "She would not hurt me."

His father releases him hesitantly while connecting his arm with his queen as they watch. Caspian takes a deep breath before reaching out again. His hand hovering over the glowing barrier before he allows his fingertips to touch it. His hand going through it feeling not shock or discomfort. He reaches down to touch her soft cheek, his fingers brushing over the smooth skin while he smiles. Even in her sleeping form, her body trust him.

"This is unreal"

The queen's word sounding of utter disbelief. King Casden nodding in agreement with is wife. Caspian continues to smile taking his place beside her on the bed. He leans down, his body going partially in the barrier to kiss her forehead before pulling back.

"Like everything with her is..."

"Why did the barrier appear with the doctor. He wasn't going to harm her?"

The queen's question directed to her husband who just continues staring to the glowing halo.

"Vatalanie is pack leader, if she feels untrustworthy towards anyone, then so will Artemis and etc."

Once again not wanting to be the one to state anything to soon. Everyone turns to Navene who still doesn't raise his head before turning back to her and glancing at Vatalanie. Vatalanie takes the opportunity to jump back on the bed placing her head protectively on Artemis' stomach. Caspian's eyebrows furrow by her actions.

"Navene is this an ability you were aware of?"

"No your majesty, I do believe all will be explained when she awakens."

With that he goes silent while everyone watches on hoping she awakens soon. Caspian curled close to her. His hands going through the barrier to touch his love. Vatalanie's body also penetrating the barrier. After a few minutes, the King and queen exit the room as the other wolves gather back on the bed. The barrier dissipating as each wolf gathers around her body. Caspian watches on enthralled by her yet again.

"Such a mystery..."

Princess Cassandra comes in a few hours later to see all the wolves and her brother fast asleep on the bed all gathered around her sister. She looks over to see Navene sitting on the couch with his legs crossed, head bowed, and eyes closed. She walks over quietly not wanting to wake anyone.

"Navene?"

"I'm awake Cass..."

"Is everything okay?"

He opens his eyes for the first time since arrival in the room. His eyes glued to his guardian who looks to be getting much needed rest. His mind heavy with all that will happen now.

"It will be..."
