Kaleo, please land before entering the kingdom. If their is something wrong, I do not wish for them to harm you.

Kaleo listens to Artemis' pleads landing in the forest where they originally met. Artemis and Caspian slide down off his back before Artemis kisses his side gently thanking him. Caspian takes her hand and dashes off towards the gates. The guards instantly recognizing the prince open the gates.

"What has happened?"

The guards look worrisome yet neither chooses to speak. Artemis can tell something is more than wrong so she tugs on Caspian's hand to pull him along. They make it to the castle's entrance where guards are scurrying about. Caspian feels his blood running cold as he steps through the doors. Artemis continues directing him along. Vatalanie is quick to find the couple.

Vatalanie, where it the King?

He is in the great hall... Artemis, there is a problem

Artemis doesn't wait to listen as she begins swiftly striding to the great hall. Caspian's hand squeezing hers to death. They enter the great hall where the king is pacing back and forth. His head whipping up at the sound of doors. He is quick to walk to Caspian gathering him in his arms. Artemis pulls away giving them a moment but staying close. She notices the tear stained cheeks upon the king and feels her worry grow. The king pulls back and holds Caspian's shoulders looking into his eyes.

"Father, what is going on? What's wrong??"

The king shutters a breath before answering. His eyes appear glossy. Caspian holds his breath.

"Your mother..." Caspian pulls back as if he has been burned but the king continues. "King Maximus escaped and kidnapped your mother."

Caspian feels his body go cold as his legs give out. Artemis is quick to his side bracing him as he crumbles to the ground. Her blood boiling towards King Maximus. She watches as Caspian begins hyperventilating as she wraps her arms around him pressing her front to his back. He fights for a minute before giving in and allowing his breath to even out as he cries. The king continues holding his shoulder kneeling beside his son. Artemis sees the utter devastation.

"My King, where is Goliath?"

The king looks up blinking rapidly trying to focus on Artemis. Her words making him furrow his eyebrows as he realizes he is gone as well.

"I-I don't know. I haven't seen him since I left the hall to come after you two."

Artemis nods her head and slowly releases her prince. The king furrows his eyebrows at the young maiden who looks resolute. She doesn't wait for either men to say anything before she turns walking briskly from the hall.

Navene, meet me at the entrance. Bring the pack!

Navene who has been with the princess consoling her hears Artemis' words. He looks down noticing Cassandra has tired herself out and has fallen asleep. He looks to Tesara pointing to the princess. Tesara nods her head getting on the bed before coiling around her waist. Navene strolls out of her chambers heading to Caspian's directing the other five wolves to follow him. He makes it to the castle's entrance to see Artemis standing there with Vatalanie.

"Artemis, what are you planning?"

There is no time. I need to find Goliath. He would have never left the queen's side. They couldn't haven't gotten far and night will be upon us soon.

Navene feels fear wash through him realizing what she is planning to do.

"Artemis you can not go alone! There will be guards and god only knows how many others!"

Navene whisper shouts at her not wanting to alert the castle patrols. Artemis leans forward placing her forehead to his.

"You stay here. Protect them, Vatalanie will stay as well."

At this a snarl erupts from said she wolf. Artemis gives her a pointed look.

Caspian and King Casden need you. Do not argue with me on this!

Vatalanie growls before heading back to the great hall. Artemis feels slightly hurt but has no time to focus on that. She turns back kissing Navene's head. Navene's voice becomes soft when he speaks.

"I love you Artemis."

As I love you Navene

She looks to her pack and closes her eyes for a quick moment allowing her mind to expand. Her mind wandering throughout the kingdom before expanding beyond the gates. Her eyes quickly dodging through the forest evergreens. She feels the pull and knows it him. She opens her eyes turning back to a Navene. She then realizes he has her bow and arrows along with her sword. She smiles at him taking them and pulling them on along with a cape.

She races off towards the Kingdom's gates. She turns back to see Navene standing there before seeing Caspian running out the door. She dips through the gate before the prince can see her. Her heart solely focused on the feeling rushing through her. Her feet taking her faster than ever before. The wolves running along side her as she can feel their hearts beating in time with hers.

She continues relentless for almost an hour going deep into the forest away from the main roads. Her heart pounding in her ears but she refuses to stop. The wolves continue on never complaining. Another hour and she finally gives in to slowing down to focus again. The feeling in her chest growing as the night sky blankets over them. A wolf howl has her stop in her tracks.

Goliath.

As Artemis comes closer to her goal, the prince is in disarray. Vatalanie watches as he paces the length of his chamber. The king had to have the guards escort him to his chambers after claiming he needed to go after Artemis. The king had already lost his wife, he refused to lose his son as well. Caspian has been feeling his heart pound out of his chest since the discovery of Artemis no longer in the castle. He was so distraught, he didn't even notice that she left the great hall. He ran to the entrance to see Navene standing there alone looking out and he knew... He knew she went after his mother.

"Vatalanie, is she okay?"

He looks to the wolf knowing he is crazy for believing she would answer him. The wolf tilts her head at him. Vatalanie can feel his fear rolling in waves making her own stomach turn. She gets off his bed to attempt to soothe him. Caspian sees her get up and he kneels down waiting. She rubs her body against his side while she continues to circle him. Her movements reminding him of a mother nurturing a young cub. He rubs her back and sighs realizing her attentions are to console him.

"Thank you Vatalanie."

The king has been sitting at his daughter's bedside since the fight with his son. Caspian may be mad at him now but he could not let him go. His queen would have killed him for letting their son chase after her and Artemis. He arrived at the princess' room to find a wolf already comforting his daughter. The wolf's body coiled to her protectively.

Tesara lifted her head when the door creaked open. Her eyes narrowing until she recognized the figure of the king. She relaxes as he steps forward pulling a chair beside the sleeping beauty. His hand comes out rubbing her head. A soft purr vibrating her chest in appreciation.

"What am I to do?"

He ask no one in particular but is surprised when he gets an answer.

"Nothing your majesty."

He whips his head towards the voice to find Navene sitting on the couch opposite. His legs criss crossed over each other with his eyes closed. He appears to be meditating sitting in the stillness of his daughter's room.

"Navene, what are you-"

"I was told to protect the princess." He doesn't open his eyes. "Vatalanie was intended to protect both you and the prince... I believe she is with him now."

The king sighs loudly looking out to the darkened sky dancing with glistening stars upon it. He lets his mind wander to where his queen could be right now. If she is well... If Artemis has found her.

"Artemis will find her my king..." The king turns looking to the young man who still appears to be a statue. His hope blooming with his words. "She will not rest til your family is whole again."

"You speak from what sounds like experience."

This has the young boy open his eyes. The king can see the teary eye of the young man but also the fierce determination he has for guardian.

"She has surprised me enough that I no longer question her. She is a warrior my King."

The king smiles ringing his hands together turning back to the evening sky for guidance. He fears for his queen but has to have faith. If not in the guards he sent to travel the roads, then for the young beauty who has blossomed a new light into his kingdom.

"Keep an eye on them..."
