《[First Draft] Crystals (girlxgirl) (studentxteacher) (lesbian story)》Chapter Thirty-four

I was freaking out. I tried to hide it from Lilly but I think she could tell. I didn't want to leave her alone so I waited until a nurse came to check on her before quickly slipping outside.
I stood just outside the door and breathed out slowly. I felt trapped and panicked and as though everything was spiralling out of my control. I tried to keep myself together as I half ran through the hospital, seeking the exit.
I burst through the doors and out into the sea of parked cars. My heart rate instantly began to slow as I breathed in the cold air.
There weren't many people outside, so it was mostly quiet. I moved away from the entrance and over to where some plants lined the outside of the hospital - planted there in some attempt to make it seem cheerful.
I stood completely still and just breathed, letting my mind slowly empty until only one thought remained.
"Lilly must hate me."
Saying it out loud only made it sound even more probable. It would kill me if she left now, over something like this - something I hadn't intended to happen.
I began to freak out again and tried to push the thought away, but it stuck at the front of my brain.
If our roles were reversed I'd hate Lilly. That was the thing that was eating me up the most. I wouldn't let her explain, so what was to say Lilly would allow me to.
She was rather more calm than I, but I couldn't see how she could listen to me while thinking I was cheating on her. I was certain there weren't many people who could.
There was a small beacon of hope however. She'd listened to me in the hospital, she hadn't lashed out at me or screamed all the curses she knew at me... but maybe that was worse. Maybe she just didn't care, and that was why she was so contained.
No, that couldn't be it. I'd seen how angry she was, hell she even fought Caitlin, even though she was bound to lose. So it must be something else.
Maybe she just didn't want to make a scene. I knew she got embarrassed easily but would that really stop her containing her anger? Was that enough?
I breathed in deeply. I just had to tell her. That was the only thing I could do. Hopefully she would believe me. If she didn't... I didn't want to think about that.
I brushed my hair from my face and took one last breath of calming air before going back inside.
The nurse had gone and Lilly was alone. She was staring up at the ceiling, her fingers tapping against each other as she thought. I wondered what she was thinking but didn't ask. It probably wasn't good.
"Hey," I said softly, moving over to sit on the chair that had been placed beside her bed.
"Hey," she replied, not even looking at me.
"What did the doctor say?"
"The scan looks good, I've not got any brain damage or blood clots."

"Thank god," I said, releasing a heavy sigh. At least that was one problem I no longer had to worry about.
She didn't say anything. I want sure if she was just upset with me or was still in pain and too stubborn to admit it.
"Are you okay now? Does anything hurt?"
She didn't reply, and I wondered if she was ignoring me. I stood up so I was within her line of sight but her eyes were closed and her breathing deep and steady. She'd fallen asleep.
I studied her peaceful face for a few moments, then tucked the thin hospital sheet around her. She mumbled something and rolled over, but didn't wake. I sat on the chair and closed my eyes, simultaneously hoping she wouldn't rest for long and that I would be waiting forever.

I woke with a jolt, and stumbled to my feet blearily. Someone said something and I rubbed my eyes furiously, and rolling my neck to relieve the cramp.
"Hmm... What?" I asked.
"I asked what time it is," Lilly said, her bright blue eyes watching me.
I stared into her beautiful eyes for a second, then rubbed my neck and pulled my phone from my jeans pocket.
"Twenty to eleven," I said, stretching my back and groaning at the series of pops.
"That late?" Lilly sounded concerned, "my mum will be getting worried."
"I'll phone her and tell her," I said, already searching for the number in my contacts.
"No!" My girlfriend squealed. "Don't do that, she'll only freak out."
"What should I say then?" I asked, my finger hovering over the call button.
"Anything, just don't tell her the truth."
I thought for a few seconds then pressed call.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Mrs Daniels-" I began but was cut off.
"It's Maggie."
"Right, sorry. Lilly and I... We... Um... I don't know how to put this... Let's just say she'll be spending the night here."
I was expecting shock, or a horror filled silence, not the squeal of delight Mrs Daniels released.
"Oh fabulous, about time too, I was wondering what was taking the two of you so long." Maggie said, her words rushed with excitement.
"You're not upset?" I asked, totally confused.
"Upset? Why would I be?"
"She's your daughter, I just thought-"
"She's eighteen, and quite frankly I thought it would've happened long before now. So I don't mind at all, Laura, dear."
"Oh," I said, unable to utter a more intelligent answer, "well, thanks, I suppose."
"You're very welcome, now off you go and enjoy your night!"
She hung up, and I slid my phone back into my pocket, still shell-shocked.
"Thanks," Lilly said tonelessly.
When I looked across at her she was staring up at the ceiling again and I sighed. It was time.
"We should talk about what happened," I broached tentatively.
"What is there to talk about?" She asked, her tone sharp. "You kissed her. No, more like made out with her."
"That's what it looked like," I said carefully, "but I can assure you it was completely one-sided."

"It didn't look like that," Lilly said, but her tone had changed and now sounded more like a sulk.
"I know what it looked like. She had me pinned against the wall, she held me by my wrist," I told her, holding up my bandaged left wrist as evidence. "Normally I would've been able to fight her off, but today I couldn't. Not without causing damage to this," I flicked my wrist in disgust. "I would never do that to you willingly, and I'm sorry."
"Don't be," she said quietly, "it wasn't your fault."
I beamed at her and she smiled back sheepishly.
"So can you ever forgive me, my beautiful girl?"
She blushed lightly and nodded, her eyes fixed on me.
"Good," I came over and perched on the side of her bed. "We've spent to much time in this place recently," I noted, tapping the hospital bed.
"Yes, we have." Lilly opened her mouth as though she was going to say something else, then stopped.
"What is it?" I urged and she rubbed her neck.
"I'm sorry for fighting Caitlin. I don't know what I hoped to accomplish."
"You were a bit stupid, weren't you?" I teased, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. She flinched slightly and I instantly retracted. "Sorry."
"I'm not in pain," she said, "you can put your arm back. I was just remembering the look in Caitlin's eyes as she sat on top of me." Lilly shivered and I squeezed her shoulder. "She's crazy."
"No, she isn't."
"How can you say that? Look what she did to me."
"Yes, I know, but she isn't crazy." Lilly stared at me in disbelief and I went on. "She just gets jealous," I said, "I'm pretty sure that she's never been in love before, she doesn't know how to deal with me not wanting her anymore."
"So she stalks you? Attacks you, and then me? If that's not crazy then what is?"
"Alright, so maybe she's gone a little too far but you didn't see her after you passed out. She was crying and said she didn't mean it. She did everything she could to help the paramedics when they came and she wouldn't stop apologising. She even wanted to be here when you woke up so she could tell you herself, but I convinced her not to. She really regrets it babe."
Lilly shrugged and rested her head on my shoulder.
"Okay I believe you, but if she does anything else I'm phoning the police, and you're getting a restraining order."
"Alright," I agreed, knowing it would never come to that.
"Good," she said and leaned up to kiss me.
Her beautiful pink lips were only inches from mine when the door opened and a young doctor walked in, his floppy brown fringe dangling over his eyes.
"Oh, sorry for interrupting," he said, not sounding like he meant it at all as his shrew like brown eyes drank in the sight.
"It's fine," I said sharply, making him blink and look down at his clipboard.
"So, Miss Daniels, you've knew the results of your scans, correct?"
"Yes."
"Are you still in any pain?" Lilly shook her head. "No sore head, or nausea? Can you taste blood?"
"No to them all."
"Okay then Miss, you're free to go. Have a nice night," and with one last leer the doctor was gone.
"God," I grumbled as I stood up, "what a perv."
"He was a bit creepy," Lilly admitted climbing off the bed and taking my right hand in hers. "But at least I don't have to stay here overnight."
"You'll have to stay at mine tonight, I told your mum you were."
"I heard," she said, with a grin. "How did she react?"
"She was very excited and told me that she'd expected this to happen much quicker," I told her, with a smirk.
"Oh god," my blonde girl hid her head in her hand.
"Don't be embarrassed," I whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "it was funny."
"Not for me," she mumbled, peeking at me with a bright red face.
"If it makes you feel better," I said, "I love that I'll be your first." I kissed her head and she smiled at me, the colour slowly sinking.
"You won't hate it because I won't know what to do?"
"Of course not, I'll get to teach you," I grinned and waggled my eyebrows at her so the blush returned.
"Maybe I'll just go home." She threatened.
"And say what?"
"I don't know," she shrugged, "maybe I'll say you aren't as great as you seem to think. That I got bored."
"With me in bed you'll never be bored," I whispered huskily and watched as she flushed for a completely different reason this time.
"Why don't you prove it?" She asked, her own tone low and sultry.
I nearly fell over I was so surprised.
"Did I hear that right?" I asked, not quite trusting my ears.
"I don't know," she shrugged nonchalantly, "did you?"
"I thought I heard you tell me to prove it."
"Maybe I did," she said, watching me carefully, "let's say I did. What are you going to do about it?"
My mouth very nearly fell open. This was a side to Lilly I hadn't seen before, and it was incredibly hot. It made me want her far more than I already had, which was quite an impressive feat.
"Nothing?" She asked, bringing me back to reality.
I grabbed her hand and and sped us through the last few cars before we reached Lilly's dads.
I let go and pushed her towards the divers side.
"Are you okay to drive?" I checked.
"I'll be fine."
I climbed into the passenger seat and tried very hard not to look over at Lilly. I knew that if I did I would see those beautifully sparkling eyes, and that hint of pink in her cheeks and lose control of my body. I had to last until we got home. I had to.
