《The Girl in Red》25

After a while I hear Caspian say, "Alright we are here" as he takes off my blindfold.
I open my eyes and see a blanket with pillows on the ground with a picnic basket in the middle. In front is a lake and a perfect view of the moon and the night sky.
I look back at Caspian confused and he replied "Surprise" with a smile.
"What? Caspian this isn't funny where is Weylin?" I asked confused. What was he getting at? I had a long day, but he ends up taking me G-d knows where at night when I was exhausted just to play a trick.
"G-d you're thick" Caspian replies with a sigh, "I saw you were having a tough day so I wanted to take you here so you could relax and get away from the castle. Nothing is wrong with Weylin, that was just an excuse to get you out."
"Let me get this straight. You pulled me out here, as I was about to train and scared the living crap out of me telling me, my father's life was in danger. Only to then say, 'ha-ha it was all a joke'". I replied fuming, but then I realized he went through all this trouble for me, so I could have a moment of peace.
I walk up to him and punch him in the gut. He doubles over with a grunt and I reply, "That's for your method of getting me out here, scaring me to death".
Then I lean down and lift his chin with my fingers. I took his cheeks into my hands and gave him a light kiss. "And that's for the trouble you went through to set this whole thing up just for me".
I see Caspian's face light up with a smile in response.
"Anything for you Princess", he said with a grin.
"Alright, is there any food?" I asked walking over to the blanket with pillows and plopping down.
Caspian snorted in response and said "You really think I wouldn't bring you any food, you are forgetting how well I know you."

"Right you are sir", I said with a smile as Caspian sits beside me. He opens up the basket and my mouth begins to water. It is filled to the brim with cakes, cookies, and all sorts of pastries.
I stare at Aloia as I see her mouth water from the delicious pastries I bought from the kitchen. Most girls her age want gold or jewelry or some kind of expensive item, but she was so simple. A little piece of cake brings a smile to her beautiful lips, and I can't help but stare.
"Can I?", she asks eagerly waiting to devour the sweets. I swear sometimes I think she is a little child.
"Yes love go ahead", I said as her light lit up and she turned to face the basket.
After 5 minutes of her carefully inspecting the basket, she decided to eat the biggest slice of cake in the whole basket. I didn't know whether or not to tell her the whole basket was for her. I watched as she opened her mouth to take a giant bite of the cake. As she pulled back from the bite, I saw her bottom lip covered in cream from the cake.
"Aloia love, you have a little something there", I said pointing to her bottom lip.
"Oh", she replied and wiped the opposite side of her bottom lip.
"You missed it, here", I said leaning forward and dragging my thumb across her bottom lip. I locked eyes with her and didn't look away as I licked the cream, I wiped off her lips.
Aloia pulled back and cleared her throat trying to change the atmosphere but, I knew she felt our mate bond as I did.
"Well, are you more relaxed now?", I asked her as I leaned back on the pillow.
"How did you know I wasn't okay?" Aloia asked me with curious eyes.
"I don't know, honestly. You put up a good front, but I can see through it. I can feel your sadness and restlessness through it." I replied honestly. "I knew you needed a break, so I brought you here. This was my favorite place in the whole Northern area when I first got here. The South is filled with beautiful fields and cottages. Don't get me wrong, your father's palace is as big as the North's but the landscape in the South is more peaceful. When I came to the North everything was different. There were buildings instead on cottages and many more people. I was working hard to become the captain of the guard and I couldn't get a moment's peace. Then I discovered this place, and I would come here every night. I thought you could use it."

I said this as I looked out to the lake but then I turned to face her. She looked at me with her gorgeous big green eyes and I realized there was something in them that she never showed me before .... love.
"Do you miss them often?" she asks.
"Who?"
"Your parents", she replies, and I take in a breath.
"My father was never really around growing up, but I was very close with my mom. She was my best friend because I was very shy and couldn't make a lot of friends. She was everything to me and I lost her." I replied trying not to give in to the sadness that was eating me up on the inside when I talked about her.
"Did you ever find her after the North took her?" Aloia asked as she took another big bite of her cake.
"I looked for a while when I first came to the North. Then I realized people didn't keep record and the North is too big to search. After we take out Ares and the threat then I will search for her again." I answered. "Anyways look what I brought" I said as I pulled out the magic music box that I used from when we practiced dancing in the ballroom before the ball.
"Teach me how to turn it on", she said crawling closer to me.
"There is a windup on the left side of the box, just one turn for it to play. If you want it to stop then you just turn it once the other way. Simple", I said with a smile.
"Can I try?", she asked reaching for it.
"Of course, just think of any song, and it will play it" I asked as I gave her the box.
She closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them with excitement in her eyes. She carefully winded up the box and a soft song started to play.
I jumped up in front of her and did a deep bow.
"Your hand milady?" I asked in a regal accent.
"Of course, good sir", she replied in the same accent.
We both let out a laugh as I pulled her up to her feet and put my arm around her waist. She leaned her head onto my chest, and we started to sway together. I placed my head on top on hers as we both faced the lake and the moon.
I breathed in her rose scent, which was intoxicating to me.
"Caspian what will we do when this is all over?" she murmured into my chest.
"Whatever you want love. You could work with me in the militia in the South. Or you could get a cottage in the South and do whatever your heart desires all day. But whatever you end up doing, I will still be part of your life" I answered honestly. I had just found my mate and I wouldn't be giving her up anytime soon.
"So, if I said I wanted to travel to the end of the world?" she asked looking up at me.
"Then, I would travel with you", I answered with a smile and winked at her.
She let out a beautiful laugh and I was mesmerized.
"I love you", I blurted out without thinking and I saw Aloia's face change in an instant.
