《The Girl in Red》8

"Because you are mine," he whispered roughly into my ear. Tinglings flew down my spine also he spun me out and caught me in his arms once again.
I knew time was running out and I had to kill the boy soon.
I pulled out of his arms and started to run. I disappeared into the crowd.
'Fuck', I said to myself and started to search.
Then someone pulled on my hand behind me. I quickly turned, ready to strike. "Wow, sorry", said the man and put his hands in the air.It was the man who danced with me before, the one who 'saved' me.
"Oh, sorry I am in a rush. Could I talk to you later?" I said pulling my hand away and search the room with my eyes around him. I couldn't waste any more time.
"I took care of the Pinkerton boy", he said calmly.
"What", I snapped my head towards him "How? What did you do? Did you kill him or set him free?"
"So much for subtlety"
"Where is he?" I demanded looking stare into that man's blue eyes. He seemed so familiar. But I wasn't up for the game he was playing. Time is running out.
"I took care of him he won't be bothering anyone anytime soon. But in return, I need to ask you a favor. Don't worry it's nothing big."I looked strangely at him.
I have no idea who this person is yet he is asking for a favor. But if he was telling the truth my night was just made a lot easier.
"How do I know you are telling the truth?" I asked.
"The courtyard near the forest", he said "He is buried there. Go check if you don't believe me". Then he winked at me. Cocky bastard.
I scoffed and started to walk quickly towards the courtyard. Then it clicked. The eyes. The same ones from Mr. Davidson's shop. He knew me, all along.
'This night keeps getting better and better' I said to myself sarcastically. I walked past the fountain in the middle of the yard in a rush. I looked around. Perfect no one's here.
"Fuck", I groaned. My shoes were getting stuck in the grass.I took off my high heels and started to run.

Finally, I got to the end of the courtyard near the forest and started to look. The moon shined through the trees and I could see everything perfectly.
If one of the royal family members found me I was dead. There were rumors of the royal bloodline having magic in their system. Long ago before the War between lands, the royal families of different kingdoms had different abilities with the elements of the earth however, no one had ever been linked to water. It was unheard of. Alynthi was linked to fire. And as curious as I was, I did not want to find out what it feels like to get barbecued. This night was intersecting enough as it is.
I approached the tree and saw that the dirt before it was placed unevenly. I'm guessing that's where the Pinkerton boy went. I should thank the man.
"Wait", I said aloud "I knew got his name. I guess I'll have to thank him later."
"Whom will you have to thank later?" said a deep voice behind me. I silently moved my hand to my thigh where my dagger was, but the man behind me beat me to it.He pressed his chest against my back and pulled my dress up. He placed his hand on my thigh and took my dagger out. I sucked in a breath, his hand felt cold on my skin. I quickly realized my position and stepped on his foot and twisted around to face him.
"Caspian! What the hell?!" I yelled at him and pushed him.
"I asked you a question", he said taking a big step towards me causing me to take a step back.
"Whom will you have to thank later?", Caspian demanded as he moved towards me. I tried to take a step back but the damn tree blocked my way. He put both hands on either side of my head. I was trapped.
"Shit", I muttered.
"Answer the question", he said. His voice was strict and I could tell he was done joking around.
"None of your business. Shouldn't you be at the party protecting your prince?" I said. I really should not have said that. I saw a fire burning in his eyes.

"You're right. I should just remind you what I said earlier", he said. He took his hand and used his fingers to gently push my chin to the left.Caspian moved his lips to my ear and growled
"You are mine".He slowly moved his lips down from my ear to my neck, brushing against my skin. I should push him away, but I can't. Or rather I didn't want to. He kissed my neck, and I gasped. I felt a smile against his lips start to form. He bit my soft spot and started to suck on it. I moaned softly and quickly put my hand over my mouth.
"Oh you like that?", he asked lifting his head to meet mine.
"Don't be stupid", I told him but I knew my cheeks were red.
"Well, I did what I needed to do", he said turning away from me and handing me my dagger back.
"Wait?" I said confused. I took the dagger and used it as a mirror to see what he did to my neck. That asshole! He marked me!
"Hey asshole", I yelled at his back.
"I suppose that means me, but I prefer the nickname baby", he said turning around and winking at me. I rolled my eyes and put my dagger away.
"How do I make this", pointing to my neck "go away?"
"You don't" he responded and continued walking back.
"Make sure it's seen when you are thanking the other gentlemen."
I let out a growl. I took whatever was in my right hand and threw it at the back of Caspian's head. I just threw my high heel at Caspian's head. He slowly turned back around to face me while rubbing the back of his head.
"Did you just throw your shoe at my head?" he asked.
"Yes, would you like to see it happen again?" I said lifting the other shoe.
"Try me" he dared "And I won't leave you with just a mark". "Also the prince is making a speech about the girl he chose as a mate tonight."
A mate? That means he has met a girl who was his true soulmate tonight at the ball. He had met his equal. To find a mate means to find the one person you need in life. They were your oxygen, your food if you find them you can't live without them physically and mentally. Well good for him, at least one of us had a successful night without a perverted asshole.
After Caspian was far from sight ran up to where my shoe was dropped and I put on my shoes. If he thought he would get away with this he was very wrong.I took out the satin ribbon in my hair and tied it around my neck with a bow face in the back. I took out my dagger and looked at my reflection. It perfectly covered up the mark and it looked beautiful. I fixed my hair and walked inside.
Everyone was staring at me as I walking in.
'What the hell is going on I thought?' I thought to myself I hear a voice call out on the top on the stairs.
"There she is! My mate, Aloia come join me!" said the man. It was him! The man who kills the Pinkerton boy. Wait, I was his mate?! No I wasn't! I barely knew him!
My eyes doubled in their size when I realized that the man who helped me was the Prince of Alynthi. The same man I called a spoiled child.
A path was made for me through the crowd, as I made my way up to the Prince. I looked back and realized there was no way of running. Guards were behind me watching my every step.
I made it to the top and the prince lend down to my ear and whispered "I'm calling in my favor, now smile".
"I am going to stab you when I get you alone, you do understand don't you?" I said through a gritted smile.
I looked down and realized three things.
My father and sister were staring at me in absolute shock.
Caspian was looking at me as if he would take me here in front of everyone to show them what's his. As if I am a trophy to win. I held back a scoff.
