Alex POV

I didn't know what to do, I was frozen in my spot, as much as I wanted to move I couldn't. Before me, was my mate, bleeding out on the floor. I felt tears streaming down my face. I finally understood why I was so drawn to Evie, I knew she wasn't my mate, but she brought me comfort.

"ALEX!" Evie shouted. "Come here and help me." I could finally move and walked over to Evie and sat down beside her. I wanted to reach for Lily's hand but didn't want to scare her at the same time. "Lily, this is my friend Alex, he's going to help you, okay?" Lily nodded her head. "Alex come her and grab her hand."

"Hi Lily, it's nice to meet you." I gave her a weak smile. "Well, I hoped it would be under circumstances." Lily snickered.

"It's.. okay., it.. doesn't.. hurt., that... much." Lily spoke, and it was literally music to my ears.

"Alex pick her up, we mind linked Josh, and he will be here in a few minutes with the car, the doctor is already waiting." I did as I was told, I didn't have the energy to fight anyone now and I was kind of glad that she took the initiative. Dylan and Maddy ran into the room.

"The guards are dead." Dylan mentioned and looked at Lily. "What happened?"

"Marco scratched her neck." I said and continued in a whisper. "She's my mate." Dylan and Maddy's eyes went wide and looked at Lily, that was now in my arms, again.

"Come on, Josh is here." Evie said. We all walked downstairs again and met with Josh. Evie, Lily and I went into the car. "We will meet you back home okay?" Evie said to Ashton, who hadn't said anything in the whole chaos, letting Evie take the lead. Which was also kind of unusual, but than again, it's her family.

"Sure, be careful okay?" He gave her a kiss and closed the door of the car. "Drive safely." Ashton told Josh, in a commanding tone, it wasn't a request, it was an order.

"Yes Alpha." With that, we drove off. After exactly 7 minutes and 23 seconds we arrived back at the pack house, yes I counted, I needed a distraction. Evie jumped out of the car as soon as it stopped and opened the door for me.

"Lily how are you feeling?" I asked.

"I'm... okay.. still.. here.." She laughed a little again.

"Save your energy baby girl." I couldn't help myself and gave her a kiss on her forehead. Her cheeks went bright red, and it was my new favorite color, well besides her green eyes, which were now sparkling again. The doctors took her away from me and I wanted to follow them, but Evie stopped me.

"Let them do their job okay? I will go with them and keep you updated?" I nodded and she gave me a hug. "It's going to be okay; I won't let anything happen to her." With that she ran off to follow my mate and the doctors.

It had been hours since I heard anything, I kept pacing in the room, much to others frustration. I almost stormed into the room, where my mate was rolled too, but Evie finally came back.

"She's okay." I could finally breath when I heard those words. "She lost a lot of blood, but we could stop the bleeding before it was too late." I wanted to run to the room once again, but Evie held me back. "I haven't told her yet what we are, and what you are too her. So, be easy on her okay?"

"Of course, what do you see me for?"

"Do you really want me to answer that question?" She lifted her eyebrow.

"Never mind, just take me to my girl." Yes my girl. Even though she doesn't know it yet, she's mine, always has been, always will be.

"What are you waiting for? You have permission to finally go in."

"What if she doesn't like me?" I whispered.

"Alex, do you even remember how me, and Ashton started? I fucking hated the guy, but you know why. But there is literally nothing you can do to stop the mate bond, well you could reject, but still even I didn't do that. Well almost did, never mind, not the problem now. Anyway, she will love your goofy self. Just give her time to heal first before you tell her anything. I know she's my cousin, but I think it's better if you tell her. So now go in and be with your mate." She gave me a hug and pushed me through the door.

I took a deep breath. "Hey, you're Alex right?" Lily said, which for some reason scared me, I thought she would be sleeping.

"You're awake?"

"Well yeah, I still don't talk in my sleep, at least I don't think I do." She laughed, and it was still the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. We talked some more about how she was feeling, and about each other's life. I told her that I lived in San Diego and she's from Portland, so at least not the other side of the country. After a while she got tired, and I gave her a kiss on her head as she fell asleep.

"Goodnight love."

Evie's POV

It had been a few weeks since my cousin came into town and the accident happened. It had been quiet for a while now, as everything began to normalize. Me and Kristin started up college again, and in my free time I helped out at the hospital as well as helping Ashton with the pack.

Alex had told Lily about being a werewolf as well as being an Alpha. At first she laughed in his face, but as he showed her, she was fucking excited. She went back to San Diego with him, Dylan and Maddy. Speaking of Maddy, she's pregnant. We all knew the moment there was a heartbeat. Got to love being a wolf, her scent changed, and we all heard the heartbeat. Alex almost beat up Dylan, for getting his sister pregnant, but they are mates after all, so he couldn't do anything about it.

I for one wanted to wait, to have kids, as I wanted to finish with college first. Ashton was kind of understanding. He wanted to be a dad, but he said he could wait. I took an IUD, just so accidents couldn't happen. I mean you never know, especially during heat.

"Hey babe, why are you sitting here?" Ashton asked, as he took a seat beside me on the grass, watching over the training grounds.

"Just thinking about everything that happened. It is the first time in months, that we can just sit here with nothing to worry about. We can just breath."

"Like it is supposed to be." He spoke softly. He put his arm around me and pulled me close to give me a kiss on the side of my head.

"I love you." I smiled at him.

"I love you too." He gave me a kiss on my mouth this time but pulled away way to quickly, which made me pout. "Your parents are here; I don't think they would appreciate the PDA." He laughed.

"I don't give a fuck, if I want to kiss my mate, I will kiss my mate." With that I smashed my lips against his and plunged my tongue into his mouth. After a few minutes I pulled away breathing heavy.

"Well damn babe." We both laughed. "Come on, let's go inside."

"I did it, I actually did it."

"Of course, you did, I'm so proud of you." Ashton smiled at me. "My Luna doctor, taking the caring for her pack, up a notch." He laughed and I punched his chest. "Hey, don't get aggressive on me now."

"Well, if you get hurt, I can at least patch you up again, so no one would notice." I laughed.

"Anyway, now that you got diploma.." I knew where this was going. "Can we get some pups." That's why I did this.

"You know what, why not." Ashton beamed. "MOM, come here!" My mon walked up to me, with to mixed raced puppies in her arms. "Thank you mom." She handed me the puppies.

"They are cute, aren't they?" My mom laughed and walked off again.

"This is not what I meant." He pouted.

"I know, babe." I gave him a kiss on his cheek. "Why don't you check the collars." I whispered in his ear. He took one of the pups and checked it's collar. His face let up.

"Are you serious?" I nodded. "Really? Please don't joke about this."

"I'm serious." A tear fell down my face. On the collar was the following sentence engraved:

Baby 2's protector.

"I'm going to be a dad?" Now Ashton was holding back his tears.

"I'm pregnant, with twins. Apparently my IUD wasn't working anymore, but the timing couldn't be more perfect." I gave him a photo of the ultrasound, which concluded just two spots, which were my twin babies.
