"What are you doing here Ashton?" I asked again as he just stared at me. "Are you following me?" a minute later the bartender came back with my drinks, I paid for them and gave him a tip.

"Well, no, not exactly following" He replied, still with a lustful look in his eyes. "Also why did you give that asshole, that was just checking you out, a tip?

"How are you not exactly following me?" I asked using air quotes with the not exactly following part. Also pretty much ignoring the stupid other question he asked me.

"Well, I was just going to get a burger with Josh, but then I smelled you in here, so I came to check it out?" He rubbed his neck in a nervous gesture.

"Well, that is just something every girl wants to hear, you smelled me." I said with a sarcastic tone.

"You know I did not mean it like that. You know us wolves can smell our mate from a few miles away. It's not a bad smile. For me it was the most wonderful vanilla and jasmine smell." He said with a smile on his face, as he just remembered the most wonderful thing he ever encountered.

"Yeah, I know, pine tree and the smell of rain that just fell."

'"So, you came here with Josh? Where is he?"

"You are more excited to see Josh than me?" He looked hurt

"Well maybe, no, I don't know. I was just hoping to get one night out with the girls, but hey I guess that is too much to ask for." I replied with the sarcastic tone. I kind of felt I had to explain myself as he looked hurt, I didn't like him looking hurt. "I just wanted to apologize for my outburst from a few days ago. You were right, it was not his fault."

"No, it was mine."

"Yes, it was." He didn't say anything for a minute or so. Okay this is just awkward, not knowing what to say and just standing, and looking around.

"Anyway, I don't know where he ran off too, I was kind of busy just looking for you to be honest. And I am glad I found you, you look good."

"Thanks, I guess. Now lets go find Josh. Can you mindlink him or something"

"Yeah, sure give me a minute." I waited as he was mindlinking Josh, once again just looking around me. The club we were in was fairly new and quite big. There was a DJ booth on a stage, a big bar with about 5 bartenders, and bar stools around. A VIP lounge on the first floor, a big dance floor. Red booths on the side of the dance floor and some high-top bar tables, near the bar. "He said he is waiting at the door"

"Okay come on, we will get him." We picked up my drinks and walked over to the exit and there he was. Looking around him, probably looking for us. As he found Ashton and I walking over to him, he started looking nervous. "He Josh, how are you?" I gave him a hug and heard Ashton growl behind me.

"Hey, you are not... angry at me?" he still looked nervous.

"No, I'm not. I am sorry for blaming you, it wasn't your fault. You can't go against Ashton because the dick is your Alpha, I understand now." Ashton just growled again as I called him a dick.

"Hey, I thought we were over the whole name calling thing?" Ashton asked.

"Yeah, sort off. You are still not off the hook. And old habits kind of die hard, I guess. I mean most of the time I have known you, I hated you." I said and just shrugged. "Now come on lets go find my friends, they are probably looking for me and these drinks."

I looked around and saw Maya and Daimy at a booth. "Oh, there they are" I pointed at the girls. "Come on." We walked over to the booth.

"Where the hell were you" Daimy asked when we reached the booth, then she looked behind me. "Ooh now I get it." She said with a smirk on her face, clearly checking Ashton out. I felt uneasy as she did, also getting a little frustrated and maybe even angry.

"He's mine." I said, not even knowing what just came out of my mouth. Daimy looked at me with a shocked expression. Ashton on the other hand just looked like he won the fucking lottery. "Oh my god, I am so sorry, I don't know what came over me."

"It's okay babe, I know I'm yours." Ashton said with a smirk.

"Well, I guess that one is taken, what about you?" She looked over at Josh.

"Mine." We all looked, to where the voice came from. And there was my best friend, looking very shocked as she watched Josh.

"Mine." He replied, with the same expression as Kristin.

"Okay okay, we get it, they are your guys. But seriously since when did you girls start dating. I thought you weren't over your ex." Daimy said while looking at me. "And you weren't looking for a relationship." She said looking at Kristin.

Josh and Kristin just kept looking at each other, not replying to Daimys question.

"Well sometimes love just finds you when you are not looking" I said, trying to ease the uncomfortable silence. "How about we let Josh and Kristin talk as we finish these drinks at the booth over there." I pointed to another booth that just came free.

"Sure, let's go."

(A/n plot twist, the moment we've all been waiting for

Oh my god here she is, my mate, my gorgeous mate. Long blond hair and light blue eyes, like the sky on a summer day. She smells like roses and lemongrass. She also didn't smell like a wolf. That's okay, she is perfect the way she is. Perfectly made for me by the moon goddess herself. But she also doesn't really smell like a human. Weird, but weirdly flawless. I will just have to ask about it later, now is not the time. My wolf was going crazy in my had. He just wanted me to grab her, kiss her, mark her, mate her, love her. It was like a mantra in my head. But it wasn't just him, I wanted to do the same. But I will have to get to know her first. Also, I'm not going to force mark my mate like my stupid alpha did. 'I can hear you, you know' I heard Ashtons voice in my head. 'Yes, I know, you were meant to hear it'. He growled but let it be.

He has been a lot calmer since we came here. Well sort of, it has been a whirlwind of emotions, but he's been happy to have his mate close. Also, sad because she tried to reject him a couple of times. Oh god what if my mate rejects me, no she won't, we will love each other, have pups together and grow old together like we are meant to. I really have to say something now.

"Hi" I finally said after a long silence. Hi, seriously, hi is all I can say.

"Hi" She looked stunned as well.

"I am Josh, it's nice to meet you."

"I have a mate." She looked so shocked. "Sorry, I'm Kristin. You probably knew that already. I'm Evie's best friend." Well, that explains why I felt so comfortable the moment I met Evie. Not only was she my Luna, but she was also going to be the one to introduce me to my mate. Wait what did she say?

"Why wouldn't you have a mate?" I asked curious. Am I her second chance? Did her first mate die? Oh god did my first mate die. Or did she choose someone else? Is this not the person the moon goddess originally planned on being with me?

"How about we sit down, I will explain." We sat down at the booth, yes, we were still standing beside it. I mean we were too caught up in each other to sit down. "My family and I, we are not really wolves, but not human either." She started to explain.

"Well, that explains the smell." She laughed, oh my she laughed, and she has the most beautiful laugh.

"Anyway, we think, my family was wolves a couple of decades ago, but the gene faded. We don't really know what happened. We are just the way we are now."

"And what is that exactly?"

"Oh yeah sorry, we are almost the same as humans. But we have better hearing, eyesight, smell, are stronger than humans and heal faster."

"So that is how you knew I was your mate, you can feel the mate bond and you can smell it too?" I asked nervously

"Yes, I can. I hoped I would have a mate, but not everyone in my family has one. Only a few, and apparently I am one of the lucky ones." She blushed. "It is also said that when someone in my family finds their mate and they get marked; my wolf would become a lot stronger than a normal wolf. Almost as strong as a Beta or even an Alpha." She continued with the story. This just made me and my wolf proud.

"So, you have a wolf?" I thought she said she was mostly like a human.

"No not now, but she is probably dormant at the moment.

"Oh okay." It didn't really matter, if she was human, wolf, or even a fairy, okay those don't exist, but still. I would love her just the same.

"It's okay if you want to reject me, you probably dreamed of a strong she-wolf, and I'm not her. I knew this would happen" She said looking like she was going to cry. I did the one thing I thought was logical. I stood up walked over to her side of the booth and pulled her into a hug.

"Never, would I ever reject you. Do you hear me?" She nodded. "You are perfect, just the way you are. Wolf or not, or dormant wolf, I don't care okay? I waited to find my mate, I only ever wanted to find her, and now that I did, I'm not letting you go okay? We will figure everything out." She nodded again and looked up at me with a smile on her face. I looked at her and at her lips. I saw she looked at mine when I looked back into her eyes and leaned in. Our lips touched and I swear it felt like fireworks. Her lips were so soft and smooth. She was shocked at first, but then kissed me back. My tongue liked her lips, asking for permission. She allowed me access and our tongues touched. The kiss was sweet but passionate, and I loved everything about it and never wanted this moment to end. But of course, the moment had to be ruined, when we heard clapping, they came back to our booth.

"Damn guys don't you need oxygen?" Evie said while laughing

"Next time when you're making out with Ashton, I'll ruin your moment" Kristin said. Well, that made Evie shut up.

"You guys do look good together. Congrats dude." Ashton said while giving me a shoulder pad.

"Yes, they do, now can you guys go, we kind of had a girls night out." One of the other girls said, I think her name was Maya.

"Yes, go!" Evie said. "How about you come to our dorm tomorrow. I will go see Alex anyway. I was supposed to go today but that didn't go to plan, so the dorm will be empty, so you can get to know each other." She winked, this just made me and Kristin blush.

"Okay, I don't like this but okay. I will see you tomorrow okay?" Kristin nodded and I gave her a peck on her lips. I looked at Ashton, he didn't seem to know what to do. "Come on dude, let the girls have a night out." He growled, not liking the situation, but left with me anyway. Once we made it outside, I really realized "I found my mate."

"Yes, you did, now don't fuck it up like I did." Ashton replied.
