Kristin, Alex, and I arrived back at the dorm. Kristin opened the door and waited for us to get in. "Are you coming?" She asked.

"No, go ahead. I have to talk to Alex about something." She gave me a wink and smirked.

"Sure, be safe and don't do anything I wouldn't do." She laughed.

"Ha ha, very funny. I don't even do things you do." We were both laughing now. While Alex was just staring at us, like we were crazy. But I guess we are, so I don't mind. "But yeah, I'll be okay. Lock up when you get inside."

"Yes mum." She said while walking inside. Now it was just me and Alex. "You wanted to talk? So, talk." I said to him.

"Well how about you tell me how you really got that bite on your neck." He shocked me.

"I already told you how I got it. There was a dog."

"And don't tell me it was a dog." I signed.

"But that is th-" I tried to get out of the awkward situation.

"Please don't lie to me Evie, who is your mate?" I looked at him with a shocked expression. "Is it even your mate, who marked you?"

"Wait, what? How do you know about mates? Fuck" Well I did not expect this.

"Are you going to tell me the truth now?"

"I guess I don't have a choice, do I?" I said defeated.

"No, you do not so now, how about we go to the park and you tell me all about your new mark." He had so much authority and power in his voice, I knew I was not getting out of this situation. So I nodded.

"Okay, I'll text Kristin that we are going for a walk." I got my phone out of my pocket in my jacket and send Kristin a quick text, not to worry about me and that I would be back later. She just send a eggplant emoji, a peach and a smirk emoji. Yeah well that is my best friend, you never get bored with her.

We walked side by side in silence to the park. I was anxious because I did not know what to tell him. I mean he knows about mates, which means he knows about werewolves. So, what else does he know and how? We found a bench and sat down. It stayed silent for a few minutes as I was trying to figure out what to tell him exactly. Alex decided to break the silence.

"Okay Evie, since you're not talking how about I tell you my story?" I just looked at him wary and nodded my had.

"Well, I was born here as Kristin told you. I moved a lot when I was young but always stayed within a 20 miles ratio. You see that is my packs territory." I looked at him shocked and Alex chuckled "Yes Evie, I'm a wolf, that is how I know that, that mark on your neck" He pointed at my neck when he continued. "Is not a dog bite. It's a wolf bite or marking. So now I'm going to have to ask you again, who is your mate Evie?"

I was still shocked at what Alex just told me. Did I seriously grow up on a pack territory? I didn't know how to begin to tell him what happened, so I decided to just start from the beginning, how I got in this shit in the first place.

"A few months ago, my family and I moved to a new town for my parents their work, they work in security and had a new job in Lupus Harbour. I went to a new high school where I did know anyone. On the first day I arrived at the new school, I bumped into a boy. When I looked up, I saw the most beautiful blue eyes I ever saw, sorry not really the point. I was a little starstruck so when he spoke, I didn't really know what he said. But he said, 'I Ashton Carter reject you as my mate'. I thought he meant mate as in a new friend. So good start of a new school, the popular guy doesn't want to be friends with me. But I didn't think much of it." I took a deep breath and continued.

"That evening when I went to sleep, I woke up with a burning pain inside me, it wouldn't stop for about an hour. The next morning, I had bruises all over my body, I had no idea of what was going on. This went on for weeks and one day I woke up in the hospital. After I was released Ashtons behavior did a full 180, like he felt guilty about something. Suddenly he was nice to me and a few weeks later we even started dating. So, one day he was not at school. I was getting worried, so I went to my friend Josh, who also knew Ashton. He told me he knew where Ashton was and took me to his home. Once we found Ashton we were talking, and he told me he was a wolf. I didn't believe him of course, like who would when someone tells you something like that, no offence.

"Non taken." Alex said as he let me continue.

"But he showed me. I was shocked to say the least. My friend Josh was also part of this pack and a wolf as well. He kind of forced Ashton to tell me everything about what had happened, so also why I woke up with bruises." At this point I was crying; I couldn't hold it in anymore. Alex wrapped an arm around me, to bring me some comfort. He knew what happened, there was no way he couldn't know if he was a wolf.

"I was so confused, angry and disappointed that I did the only thing that seemed logical at the time. I rejected Ashton as my mate and moved back here" I finished my story.

Alex pulled me into a hug "That still doesn't explain how you got that mark on your neck Evie, I'm sorry to pressure you into this but I have to know." Alex said.

"I know when I went to get the groceries I walked back to my car. Only to see Josh and Ashton standing there. I wanted to run but I couldn't. Ashton pulled me into a hug. I tried to fight him, but he was too strong. He told me he was sorry, but he had to do this, and he bit me. It was the most excruciating pain I had ever felt. It felt like my body was on fire. When I realized what had happened, I pushed Ashton away and threatened him and Josh to stay away and ran home. And you know the rest." As I finished, I saw how angry Alex was, with what I had just told him. I saw his eyes change color. Probably trying to control his wolf. A moment later he looked in front of him, like he was thinking really hard.

"I'm sorry I have to do this, but I need to go. I will talk to you tomorrow. We have a lot to talk about. Don't worry about the wound getting infected, it won't. Just don't do anything till I contact you again okay?" Alex finally answered.

"But Alex where are you going?" I was confused at what just happened. And now he wants me to just go home.

"Please Evie, promise me you will stay inside till I contact you, please" Alex bagged me.

"Okay, are you going to walk me home?" I was still confused, but at least I wouldn't have to walk alone.

"Yeah, sure but after I really need to go." He was still thinking hard about something.

We walked back to my dorm in silence. Alex was definitely still trying to control his wolf. When we arrived, he begged me again to just stay inside till he contacted me again. He promised me it would me tomorrow. Not knowing what to say again, I just went inside.

Kristin was on the couch drinking some tea.

"Hey babe, how was the chat with Alex?" She asked with the same smirk on her face, the one she had when we left. I hung up my jacked on a hook next to the door.

"Kind of weird, but good I guess." I said honestly.

"Weird?" She asked confused. "Weird how?"

"I told him about Ashton and what happened back in Lupus Harbour."

"So, you talked about your ex with a possible new boyfriend?" She looked disappointed.

"I don't think there is ever going to be something more than friendship between me and Alex Kris." I mean how could there be. I was marked by a wolf. He was a wolf who had a mate out there, who was most definitely not me as I had an idiot of a mate.

"Awhh, but I just started to ship Alvie." I gave her a weird look. "Oh, do you prefer Elex? That kind of sounds weird, but hey whatever floats you boat." I laughed finally getting what she meant.

"Yeah sorry, I'm getting on another boat." I laughed. "Do you mind if I go to bed. I'm kind of tired. "

"No sure, go ahead. Goodnight"

"Goodnight."
