《Mated at first sight》Chapter 1

I ran back to the dorm, looking back to see if I wasn't being followed. I was relived to find out they didn't follow me. Although I have a feeling he won't stop until I submit. And he FUCKING bit me. The decency of the guy. Did he really think it was okay to just mark me? NO, the answer is fucking NO.
When I finally reached my dorm, I looked in my bag to find my keys. I finally found them, should have known they wouldn't be in my bag but in my pockets, I opened the door and rushed inside. Once inside I made sure to lock the door. I turned my back to the door and sat down against it, thinking about what had just happened. Kristin ran into the living room looking at me.
"What the hell happened to you?!" she asked when she saw me "and where are all the groceries?" I mean priorities, but still she asked about me first, so I guess it's okay. I didn't tell Kristin about Ashton and Josh being werewolves. She probably won't even believe me if I told her. I just told her I had a bad breakup and wanted to go home. I know she was thinking that there was probably more to the story but let me be. "Hello Evie" Oh I guess I zoned out for a moment and forgot to react to her question. What should I even tell her? Well, I ran into my ex, and he's kind of a werewolf and decided to claim me on a fucking parking lot. So yeah, there is a bite mark on my neck. Or claim or whatever you want to call it. No that's not going to work. So, I just decided on what every other logical human being would answer.
"A dog bit me" I finally said, pointing to my neck.
"How the hell did a dog manage to bite you in your neck? I mean did he jump to bite or what?" She said while looking at me wary. Not really believing that, that was the whole story.

"No of course not. I sat down for a second to tie my shoelaces and the dog decided to bite me." I mean this is a pretty good lie, right? I sadly learned to lie to my best friend when the breakup questions didn't stop.
"Oh shit, it looks really bad. Maybe we should go to the hospital. I think you need some stitches it looks really deed and probably a tetanus vaccine." I held my hand against my neck to check if it was still bleeding. Actually, it kind of stopped. "Oh, shit sorry, I'll get something to clean it for you." She ran to the kitchen, to get our first aid kit.
I didn't even think about that. I mean do you need a vaccine when your werewolf mate decides to bite you? I mean they kind of still are some sort of dogs. And what would even happen to me. Oh, shit I'm not going to turn into a wolf, right? Shit Shit SHITTTT. Maybe I should have a chat with Josh after all. I mean it's not like I know any other wolves except Ashton, but no way in hell am I going to contact him after what he did to me.
When you came back, she began to clean the wound. She put something on my neck to clean it and that stung like a little bitch. "Ouch."
"Sorry." She mumbled
"You know maybe you were right before, about going to the hospital. Can you get a car? I think I need to get a cloth or something to stop the bleeding" I said, it wasn't really bleeding anymore. But better be safe than sorry right.
"Oh yeah sorry I forgot about that; I wasn't really expecting you to show up with a dog bite. And I have no idea what I'm really doing with this." She motioned to the first aid kit. "I'll get that cloth for you and I'll contact Alex as well. I don't have a car, but he does." She walked off to the kitchen calling Alex and getting a cloth. She came back and handed it to me, I mouthed a thank you. While talking to Alex. "Yes, the stupid bitch got herself bitten by a dog. Can you like come, to get us to the hospital? ... Thank you ... Yes, see you in a bit ... Yes, I'll tell her... Okay bye"

"So, he's coming? And what do you need to tell me?" I looked at her suspicious
"Yeah, he's on his way, he will be here in about 5 minutes and he told me to say that you are an idiot." She laughed
Exactly 5 minutes later Alex showed up and we drove to the hospital. I told him the same story about what happened (the lie) and he also believed it, I think, probably not. He was a little too focused on the bite mark, like he had seen it before. I am probably just imagining things. I mean I'm kind of still in shock right. There is no way Alex knows what happened. None. Zero. But then again there might be a way. What am I even thinking? Brain shut up.
A short while later we arrived at the hospital. And my crazy best friend began to shout for a doctor "Please someone help, my friend was bitten by a dog" I couldn't help but laugh. People began to stare our way and a nurse rushed over. She is so dramatic.
"Hello dear, how are you?" Seriously? I thought. "That looks painful." Well thank you for station the obvious. "I will get the doctor for you. Do you need anything for the pain?" the older looking nurse asked while smiling at me sweetly. Well now we're getting somewhere.
"No, I am alright, just wanted to be sure that it's not going to get infected or anything." I replied with the same sweet voice. I think it kind of sounded fake, but who cares. I'm still not even sure if I should be here or not. Probably not, I mean it's not a natural wound, more like supernatural. Seriously since when did my life come to this.
"Of course, I understand, the doctor will be with you shortly." The nurse said and walked away. She probably noticed my fake sweet voice. I wouldn't be happy too.
About twenty minutes later a doctor arrived. "Evangeline Cross?" He called my name. I stood up and walked over to the doctor.
"That's me."
"I see that we have a dog bite on our hands. Come with me, I will clean it and look if it is going to need stitches." I walked with him to an examination room. The doctor began to collect some supplies. "This might sting a little." He said as he put an alcohol wipe on my neck.
"Ouch." I flinched a little.
"Sorry. It doesn't look to deep so I will just wrap it up for you. I will give you a vaccine just to be sure. I do think it is going to leave a scar, but there is nothing I can do about it."
"Yeah, that is what I thought too. Thank you though." He wrapped it up and they did give me a vaccine.
"Okay there you go. You need to change the wrap every two days. Clean the wound with water. Just rinse it out. A normal bandage will do. If you don't trust the healing process, please come back anytime and I'll look at it"
"Thank you, doctor." We said our goodbyes and I walked out, back to the curious looking Alex and the concerned looking Kristin.
Alex kept looking at the mark, like he wanted to say something. But after what seemed like an inner battle, he decided against it. He looked over to Kristin and then back at me and mouthed 'we need to talk'
End of chapter 1
I have no idea if the original author will ever pick up the story, it's not very likely because it has been on hold for 4 years, but if so I have no idea what the author wanted to do with the story. How she wanted to end it or what she thought would happen. This is just my take on the story.

I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room
The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed!
