《Because Of You》Chapter 6

Arsen POV:
I stand outside the door of the room she's currently to make sure she won't try anything while I'm gone. I gave her a random excuse that I needed to tend to something but in reality I just needed to think. As soon as I hear her steady breathing I start walking towards the direction of my office.
Grace, my mate
My wolf Xander said with a mischievous tone
I softly chuckled as I reminisced the memories from today. Never would I have thought I would have found my mate, nor would I have thought she would be a rouge.
She was definitely intriguing. Not afraid to speak her mind, using her words wistfully. She didn't fail to amuse me.
I was sitting in my office completing paperwork for a treaty with another pack when one of my betas mind linked me. It's not unusual to have two Betas. My grandfather had two, my dad had two and I intend to carry on the legacy. Not only were they both loyal, but I trusted them with my life. All three of us have been close since diaper days.
As soon as I sensed the urgency though the link I became on edge. "Nick, what's wrong? Anything happen on patrol?" I urgently asked.
"Alpha, we found a rouge trespassing the territory of the Crescent Moon Pack. It's suspicious because it's been abandoned since the attack three years ago. I think you should deal with this."
The Crescent Moon Pack.
The loathing I held for this pack was beyond words, and to this day I feel no remorse for wiping out the entire pack.
They deserved it. After all, they murdered my father.
Pushing away my dark thoughts, I grunted to Nick that I was coming and began walking.

Crescent Moon was the neighboring pack so it didn't take much time to get there. Soon I saw three people in the distance. As soon as I got closer I smelt something so divine. It smelt like vanilla and roses. I sniffed the air like a mad man, aching for more of the scent.
Xavier shouted with excitement.
Taking the last few steps towards the betas and the rouges I slowed to a stop.
There stood a girl, about 5'3. She was wearing an old pair of jeans with a sweatshirt and torn up converse. Her long brown hair cascaded down her back ending below the ribs. I was aching to see her face but I couldn't because she was looking down.
"Look up." I commanded in a gruff voice.
She didn't look up.
"I said look up." I repeated with more of an edge to my tone.
Slowly she began lifting her head and my eyes locked with her brown ones. She was beautiful. Her face, eyes, nose, lips, everything was perfection.
Xander repeated in my head while I solely stared at her.
This is our mate, I've found my mate.
"Mine" I growled taking a step towards her, but before I could grab her she ran.
In no time I was running after her, leaving the betas there in shock. I soon caught her, accidentally injuring her on the way.
The walk back was fairly amusing up until she practically rejected and told me she hated me.
I had to admit, that hurt. After losing my father, and practically my mother as well after my fathers death, I was lonely. I had always wanted my mate to love and cherish me, to fill the void.
I know, the big bad, vicious Alpha has feelings. Although I don't feel remorse for what I do, I'm not completely heartless. I treat my pack with care and respect and do the best to protect them.

I had taken over the pack when I was 18. My dad passed down the position to me. Everyone was so happy until tragedy struck a year later and my father was killed.
After examining her foot andTim saying that Grace would be okay, I let out a sigh of relief. I could tell she still felt uneasy around me so I gave her space.
As I rounded the hallway to get to my office, a loud and obnoxious voice called out. "Hey grandpa, come here I need your help."
I let out a sigh of irritation and walked towards the voice. I was greeted by the sight of my younger sister on top of a chair trying to get something down.
"Macy, I'm only 22 and you're 19. Just three years younger." I said as I held up three fingers for her to see.
"Yea, yea. Okay listen, I need you to grab that for me." She asked while pointing at something.
"Okay get down, I don't want you to get hurt." Although, she was a pain in the ass, I love her and I'd do anything for her.
"Here" I said as I pushed the book she wanted towards her. After noticing that she didn't grab the book from me, I looked towards her to see that she had a dumbstruck look on her face.
Next, I heard a loud scream next to my ear as Macy hugged me while jumping up and down.
"You found your mate! Oh my, I'm so excited. Where is she? Why didn't you introduce me?" She had a crazed look in her eye shot numerous questions my way
"Mace. Stop. Yes I found her, and she's resting right now. Who told you anyways?" I asked after answering her questions.
"I have my ways." she replied with a smirk on her mouth. "I wanna meet her tomorrow, and I want to hang out with her as well."
"Okay, but give me sometime with my mate too." I said chuckling
"You have your whole life with her, you can wait." She said waving me off
"Alright." I said agreeing. I let out a small yawn and felt tired so I got ready to leave. I walked towards Macy and gave her a kiss on the top of her head before walking towards the door. "Get some sleep okay Mace?" I reminded her.
Before walking out Macy placed her hand on my shoulder causing me to turn around with a questioning gaze. "I'm glad you found her." She whispered with a soft look in her eyes.
I gave a small smile and nod in agreement before walking back to my room.
As I lay in the bed, my thoughts are filled with a certain brunette. Soon, I fall asleep with a pair of brown eyes on my mind.
