《》Chapter 6

The next night was eventful everyone was doing their own activities and humans rushed about the lobby hoping to get to theirs or to their rooms. I slowly walked down the stairs to the lobby. Mavis, Jonathan and Dennis were standing together talking. Dennis glanced in my direction. He squirmed in his moms arms before finally escaping and rushing over. He dodged people as he ran. I bent and scooped him up into my arms. He smiled at me and I smiled back at him.
"Guess who's birthday is coming up!" I questioned.
"Mine!" Dennis declared, throwing his arms into the air.
I laughed and tickled his exposed sides. He laughed and wiggled around in my arms. I smiled more and laughed. I licked my lips.
"Can we go outside and play?" Dennis asked.
"Well, we have to ask your mom and since Dracula is busy tonight I'm sure I can," I replied, simply.
I walked towards Mavis and Jonathan and smiled warmly at them. Jonathan smiles at me. I could smell his blood as it pumped through his veins but I could control my temptations.
"Mommy can Ally take me outside?" Dennis asked.
Mavis looked at us quickly and Jonathan quickly jumped at the question. He wrapped an arm around his wife's waist and smiles at us.
"Of course! It gives us time alone," Jonathan agreed.
Dennis cheered and together we were out the door.
I walked down the stairs with my cap wrapped around my figure firmly. My eyes drifted around the room quickly at all the guests both human and none human. I made my way over to Jonathan and Mavis who were bickering between each other.
"Did you two start planning Dennis's birthday?" I asked.
"Yes, Dad. We got everything covered. Dennis is going to have a great birthday," Mavis replied, simply.

I nodded slowly. I looked around again.
"Are you looking for Ally?" Jonathan asked, coolly.
My head snapped in his direction. My eyes narrowed at him.
"How–Yes, Do you know where she is?" I replied, lowly.
He nods and gestures towards the main doors.
"She took Dennis out for a few minutes. She'll be back when Dennis has to go to bed for his schooling," Jonathan explained.
I glanced at the main doors from the corner of my eye as they opened. Dennis and Ally walked in hand in hand smiling. My heart jumped with joy and my mind melted as I watched her. Everything about her was amazing to me. She was my zing and I wanted to keep her safe forever. Dennis raised his hand and pointed towards me. Ally looked up from him and our eyes locked. A smile formed on her lips as they moved closer and closer towards us.
We stopped in front of Dracula. Mavis picked up Dennis and smiled kindly at us before she took him upstairs to bed. Jonathan went off after them. I turned to look at Dracula.
"I've never got to thank you for that fly date yesterday," I muttered.
"How about you thank me with another kiss?" Dracula offered.
"That I can do," I replied, flirtatiously.
My arms went around his neck as he placed his hands on my waist. We inches from kissing when we were interrupted by a zombie. Dracula hissed under his breath and I giggled softly.
"This kiss is on hold," I muttered.
Dracula smirks before going off to run the hotel. I turned and went upstairs to have a hot bath to relax.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
