《》Chapter 42: Birth

"I'm sorry, I am so, so sorry." Genesis sobbed as she buried her head in her knees. She had never felt so selfish. She hated herself for it. She had no right to snap at Bella. This wasn't about her. But, why did she still feel anger towards Bella? Carlisle crouched down to her height, a look of concern on his face. "Genesis, you are perfectly entitled to express your emotions. You never have before, since you always put other's feelings before yourself, I'm glad you're finally expressing yourself." He confessed.
"I had no right to say any of that to her." She responded. Genesis had never felt so guilty in her life. "Genesis, you have every right to be upset." Carlisle comforted, "However, Bella may have hurt you, but she needs you now more than ever. We don't know if she will survive, and I know you would be heart broken if you guys didn't make things right before it was too late." He explained. Genesis's head popped up. He was right.
Genesis stood quickly and hugged her husband tightly, "Thank you, my love." She whispered. Carlisle smiled, "Of course." Genesis ran back to the house, readying her apology upon arrival. When she made it into the room, everyone stared at her guiltily. Genesis hung her head in shame, making the others in the room confused. "I am so, so sorry, you guys." She whispered. She felt Someone grip her shirt hastily and pull her into a hug.
"Gen, don't you dare apologize for this. You did nothing wrong. I should of thought about your feelings. I've been neglecting everyone's thoughts and only thinking of myself. That's not what you taught me to do. You taught me to be selfless, and to help others. I'm sorry." Bella apologized, holding Genesis as close as she could with her swollen stomach in the way.
Genesis sighed softly. She knew there was no way to blame herself for this. Bella wouldn't allow it. "It's okay." She breathed, finally letting go of her guilt and anger. Genesis then looked around at the others, surprised to see a proud smile on all there faces. She was about to ask why, but then she noticed that Jacob wasn't there. "Where'd Jacob go?" She asked. Bella sighed.
"He tried to talk to me about this, and he got frustrated when he didn't get the answer he wanted." She explained briefly. However, Genesis didn't need much detail. She knew he would try to talk her out of this, anyone who wanted to ensure her safety would, but, she also knows Bella is stubborn, especially when it comes to something as crucial as this. She's not carrying a monster.
She's carrying family.
Genesis sat with Bella on the couch, Rosalie, Alice, Bree, and Esme on the floor next to them. "What about Tobias for a boy, and Beatrice for a girl?" Bree suggested. "Those are nice names." Genesis complimented, making Bree smile in accomplishment. Bella nodded in agreement. "Yeah, they are pretty great, but I was thinking about combining names. Kind of to make it more meaningful?" Bella said shyly.
"Oh! Then how about EJ?" Bree exclaimed. "EJ?" Rosalie questioned in confusion. "Yeah, Edward-Jacob!" She clarified. Rosalie grimaced at the meaning, however, Bella seemed to perk up at the suggestion. "EJ, that's perfect!" Bella said happily. "Great, now, what about a girl?" Genesis asked. Bella looked up at Genesis, and knew exactly what the girls name would be.
Genesis's middle name.

Edward walked in from the balcony hastily, startling all the women in the room. "I need everyone in here, please, it's an emergency!" He called out. In a few seconds, everyone was now in the living room, confused as to what was happening. They heard a door open and close from the downstairs area, and soon Jacob was in the doorway. "What's going on?" Genesis finally spoke up.
"Sam. He knows about Bella. He heard me when I left. He's going to kill Bella and the baby." He revealed. Genesis stood up abruptly. "What? Sam? That doesn't make any sense, we're his friends!" Genesis said in utter confusion. Sam and Emily and the pack were like a second family to her. Why would they do this? "It's against the treaty for them to bite or kill another human." Jacob explained. "But this was consensual. Bella wants this. Bella has been wanting this. And now that there is a child on the way, the only way she can live is for this to happen." Genesis said.
"I thought that if it was the humans choice then that's their decision." Esme said. "It is. But, since Bella is having a 'Demon Baby,' he thinks that he needs to take action." Jacob countered. "The treaty didn't say anything about a vampire baby." Emmett interjected. "It didn't. That means no crime against the treaty has been committed." Carlisle spoke. "The treaty is void. At least, in Sam's mind." Jacob said.
"Not in ours." Chandler gritted. "Carlisle, no one has hunted in weeks." Emmett said. "We'll have to make do." Esme sighed. "Can't we just talk to them?" Genesis asked. Jacob shook his head. "He's beyond reasoning with at this point. He's set on killing whoever is in the way." He said. Genesis's eyes widened. "He's been planning this. He's been trying to find a reason to kill them!" She said angrily. Carlisle sped over and held her as furious tears went down her face.
"There's no need in getting worked up over it, love. We'll get through this." He comforted. "Carlisle, you guys need to hunt. You can't preform the surgery like this." She argued. "If he goes out there, he will be slaughtered." Jacob said. Genesis pulls away, an idea in her mind. "Then create a diversion." She said. Everyone turned to her, all ears for her plan. "Seth and Leah, once they hear of the plan they'll come on our side. You three can distract them." She said. They all thought it over and looked to Jacob. He nodded his head in approval.
"Let's do This."
Seth and Leah joined later that day. They decided they would wait three more days before executing the plan, which everyone agreed upon. Genesis laid on her and Carlisle's bed, thinking of everything that was going on. Bella was going to die soon. She couldn't believe it. She had just turned eighteen and she was already married, had a kid on the way, and knocking at deaths door. It was crazy.
"Love, are you alright?" Carlisle's smooth voice broke the silence, yet also silenced her thoughts. She looked at the man, the one she fell in love with. It became clear to her then, that this was it. This was why Bella didn't worry about dying. Looking at Carlisle now, remembering their time together, the good, the bad, everything. She married him with the usual intent, wanting to spend the rest of their lives together.

But, he has lived more than one life, and, so could she. She had never thought of it as much as Bella has, but, she knew she had to turn. She hadn't talked to Carlisle about it much, but, because of everything that's going down now, she couldn't think of a better time. "Love, are you going to change me? Like Bella?" She asked warily. She didn't ever know how to bring up such a topic, but she knew that she needed to ask sooner or later.
Carlisle sighed, knowing this question was going to come sooner or later. "Well, that depends." He said as he sat next to her. "On what?" She asked. "On you." He answered. "I don't like the thought of hurting you, or you dying for that matter, but," he sighed, "I, selfishly, think about you, standing by my side forever." He said with a small smile. Genesis's lips turned into a smile, also loving the idea of being with the man she loves for eternity.
"I like that idea too."
"They're off, go execute the plan." Genesis ordered Jacob as she came back from watching a few of the coven leave. Edward, Rose and Bree were the only ones to stay behind. Jacob gave a quick nod and turned around, only to be stopped by Genesis turning him around and hugging him. "Thank you so much, Jake. I'm so glad we have you here." Jacob smiled and hugged the small woman. "I always will be." He promised. Genesis smiled and let him go, watching as he jumped off the balcony and into the woods below.
"I'm so happy to see you guys made up." Bella said as she walked through, Rosalie and Bree supporting her on both sides. Genesis smiled, "Yeah, so am I." She agreed. She walked up to her just as Edward walked in. "So, what were you three talking about?" She asked. "The Baby names I chose." Bella smiled in pride. Edward smiled brightly, "Well, let's here it." He said. "Well, if it's a boy, EJ." She announced. "Ah," Genesis giggled, "Edward-Jacob." Edward laughed.
"Yeah." Bella laughed. "Why don't you tell them the girl's name?" Rose said. Bella smiles brightly, "Well, for the girl's name, I wanted to name her after someone really important to me, like EJ," Bella said, "So, I named her after Genesis's middle name," Bella stopped as she dropped her cup. As she bent down, her back bent unnaturally, and her knees crunched against the floor below. Edward quickly jumped forward grabbing her head before it also hit the floor.
"It's time, Rose, Bree, help me get her into Carlisle's office, mom, call Carlisle!" He ordered frantically and Bella screamed in pain. Genesis ran as fast as she could out on the balcony away from the noise and called Carlisle. "Carlisle, hurry back, Bella's in labor!" She hurried out into the phone just as he answered. "Love, calm down, I'll be the as soon as I can!" He responded quickly and hung up. Genesis looked out into the woods, "Jacob! Seth! Leah!" She called putting hopelessly.
The three were soon to arrive, panicked to hear Genesis's screams. "Bella, she's in labor!" She explained quickly. "We'll stand guard out here, Jacob, go!" Leah ordered. Jacob nodded and met up with Genesis in Carlisle's office. "Get him out, now!" Bella yelled at Rosalie. Genesis quickly realized what was happening and covered her mouth in horror as her sister screamed in pain and looked to Jacob to distract herself.
Rosalie pulled the knife away, a hungered look taking over her eyes. "Rose, no!" Genesis managed to take the girl off guard and tackle her to the ground. "Bree, get her out of here!" Genesis ordered as she grabbed the knife off the floor. "I'm sorry, Bella." Genesis said before stabbing into her sister, cutting as much of a c section as she could with the little knowledge she had. Genesis could cry, her sister was screaming in pain, but she couldn't let all of her sister's pain go to waste and not save her niece/nephew.
An exasperated smile spread across her face as she was finally able to see the child and pull it out from her sister. She carefully grabbed the crying baby, quickly grabbing a towel to wrap it in. "It's a girl." She said breathlessly. Edward and Jacob smiled in relief. Genesis handed the baby to Bella, only for the baby to bite her and start crying again. "Oh jeez." Genesis huffed, handing the child off to Edward in fear of her own safety. "She's beautiful." Bella said quietly, the life fading from her in front of Genesis's very eyes.
"Bella?" Jacob questioned, shaking the still girl, "Bella?!" Genesis quickly turned, "Edward, give me the baby, save my sister!" She ordered as she grabbed the baby and ran out of the room. She cleaned her off, being careful of her body parts near the child. "Rose?" Genesis called out. Rosalie was by her side in an instant. "Are you okay?" Genesis asked. "Yeah, I'm sorry." She apologized. "It's okay. The baby bites, though. Can you take care of her?" She asked. Rosalie nodded and took the baby off to another room.
Genesis sighed and slumped down onto the floor, looking at her sisters blood that covered her arms and shirt. "Everyone seems to leave you, don't they?" A small girl's voice said. Genesis scooted up against the fridge as she saw the little girl in front of her. "First your mom leaves you for her husband, then the Cullen's leave to get away from you, Jacob leaves for better friends, Bella tries to leave you alone on the world, twice now? When will it end for you, huh?" She mocked.
Genesis recognized the little girl as the one from her bachelorette party almost a year prior. It was her. She was staring at her ten year old self. "What's wrong? Why so surprised? Oh! You thought you imagined that? You thought you were seeing things because you had been drinking?" The girl laughed. "Poor little you." She smirked. "Who are you?" Genesis asked. The girl chuckled. "I can be whoever I want to be. Like, Jasper?" She said as she morphed into a perfect copy of her son.
He pulled out his phone, showing her a picture of the her in her bachelorette outfit. "It was you! I knew something was off about him that night! Who the hell are you?!" She demanded. "Aww, poor Genesis. Always so clueless. Guess something's never change. Looks little closer, dear." He said. She looked closer at the picture, and noticed something off in the mirror behind her. It was a man, not Jasper, holding the phone instead.
It was him.
Just as Genesis's eyes widened in realization, her body was thrown into the glass dining table. "Surprise." He said menacingly as he morphed into himself. "But, How?" She coughed. The man then picked her up and threw her into the tv, more glass shards entering her body as she screamed in pain. "Well, after five, long years in prison, some vampires decided to take over the place, killing everyone for food. Well, some of them. You see, I was one of the lucky few to be kidnapped and turned to be apart of their little cult. Funny how things happen, huh?" He laughed half heartedly.
"Mom!" Rosalie screamed as she sped into the room. "Well isn't that depressing. Can't have kids of your own, so you adopted these orphan vampire kids? Pathetic." He mocked. Rosalie attacked the man, throwing him into the kitchen, breaking everything that stood. She quickly grabbed Genesis so she could make a break for the balcony, only for the man to grab them both and fling them to the dining room. "You really gonna let your child die for you?" He asked.
"Stop!" Genesis yelled. Rose stood up lazily, her hair in disarray and clothes ripped from the glass table. "What do you want?!" She demanded. The man huffed out a laugh, speeding his head way to her and back to his spot, holding her by the throat. "What do I want?" He asked. "No!" Rosalie screamed as she ran at him again, only for her to get caught in the grip of his other hand, lifting her off the ground from the neck to where she couldn't move. "Leave her alone!" Genesis choked out.
"I want you to feel the pain I felt. I want you to be damned to this world too. And I want you to turn and finally finish you off." He said. "I want to kill you, twice." He gritted out. "Now, I'll give you a choice." He said as he squeezed pressure into Rosalie's throat, a crack forming up her chin as she struggled against his grip. "Let me change you, or watch me kill her." He bargained. "Mom... don't..." Rosalie choked out. "Kill me!" Genesis hurried out. The man dropped Rosalie in an instant, "Right answer." He said before he bit into her neck.
Genesis screamed in agony as she felt the venom enter her blood stream. The man pulled away, grabbing both women by the back of their necks and throwing them out of the glass and onto the balcony, catching the attention of the wolves and vampires downstairs. The man stood in the middle of the balcony, smirking down at the scene before him before picking up the unconscious girl and a dazed Rosalie, putting them over the balcony. "Sorry to interrupt, just taking out the trash." He said.
Then, he dropped them.
