《》Chapter 37: Our Day

"You have got to be kidding me." Emmett huffed as he watched the girls do Genesis's makeup. "This is the last time we let you guys throw a bachelorette party. They could have been hurt!" Chandler followed. "How were we supposed to know Genesis would slip in the bathroom?" Rosalie defended. "The same way you protect a toddler. But, we weren't going to do that. She's twenty years old, Chandler. She can take care of herself." Esme said.
"Twenty. She's Twenty, and you gave her alcohol the night before her wedding. Great idea. Next, we should put meth in a baby's bottle." Emmett said rolling his eyes. "You're being overdramatic. She's fine!" Alice exclaimed, gesturing to Genesis. Genesis hadn't spoken since they got there. She was too busy thinking about her dream. It felt so real. She could have swore she didn't dream that up.
"Hey, what's going on? We heard arguing and Carlisle is concerned." Jasper said as he joined the group. Suddenly, Genesis stood from her chair just as Alice applied the last of her makeup. She gave everyone a smile. Today is supposed to be the best day of her life. She's not going to let some dream ruin her perfect day. "Everything's fine. Just a bit of a mishap yesterday. It's all fine now, right girls?" Genesis eyed the others, silently demanding their cooperation.
They all nodded in agreement, the boys heading out with Jasper back to Carlisle.
The music started, signaling Genesis and Charlie that it was time. "I love you, dad." Genesis spoke as she caressed his scruffy face, wiping a stray tear from his eyes. "I love you too, Gen." He smiled, using his nickname for her. The use of the nickname struck a new era in their lives, presenting itself as a milestone and gateway for the future, yet still pulling from the past.
As they made their way down the aisle, the couple only had eyes on each other. Genesis could hear the sniffles of Renee and Bella, sometimes even Charlie. This was it. This was her day. Their day.

How did she get here? Just a year ago she'd thought she'd lost him. And he thought he'd lost her. Is it luck? Fate? She doesn't exactly know. She's never been seen as very religious, but, in this moment, she sees him as a blessing, and she thanks God for him.
Charlie let her go, handing her off to Carlisle and giving him a thankful smile, knowing that, if there was any man he'd ever trust to take care of his daughter, it would be him.
The preacher went on, the two repeating after him every now and then. "Do you, Genesis Swan, take Carlisle Cullen, to have and to hold, through sickness and in health, 'til death do you part?" He asked, a humble smile on his face, already knowing the answer by the look in her eyes. "I do." She replied, looking Carlisle straight in the eyes.
"Very well. And do you, Carlisle Cullen, take Genesis Swan, to have and to hold, through sickness and in health, 'til death do you part?" He asked, his smile widening in content at the display of love in front of him. "I do." He answered, a bright smile on his face.
"By the power invested in me by the state of Washington, I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." He announced. And, sealed with a kiss, their future was born.
The two pulled away, Genesis putting up a finger and turning around, readying to throw her bouquet behind her to symbolize who shall be next to be a bride. She tossed it, turning only after she was sure that it was caught. Gasps were heard as she turned, a laugh escaping her lips as she noticed the bouquet on Bella's lap. She wasn't even trying to catch it.
Guess fate is real.
"You look so beautiful, Genesis." Emily complimented from beside Paul. "Thank you, Em. You look beautiful yourself. I don't think I've ever seen you in a dress." Genesis smiled, admiring her long, blue dress that fit her perfectly. "Thank you. I don't dress up much, and it seems to be driving Sam crazy." She sighed amusedly.

"What do you mean?" Genesis questioned. "Well, first off, I always have to have an escort apparently. That's why Paul's here." She snickered. "Am not! I came here for Genesis and Carlisle." He argued. "And?" Emily rose an eyebrow, causing him to sigh. "And to make sure no one touches and, or, looks at Emily the wrong way." He revealed.
Genesis laughed. "Where is Sam anyway?" She asked. "Getting some drinks. Oh, there he comes now." Emily smiled as Sam walked up to them, carrying two mixed, alcoholic beverages and some plain punch, handing the punch to Emily, her smiling sheepishly at Genesis.
Genesis's eyes widened in realization. "Em, are you pregnant?" She asked. Emily smiled, "How'd you guess?" She laughed. "Oh my God! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you two! I knew you wouldn't pass up a drink. You're my drinking buddy!" She laughed.
Everything was finally falling into place. She and Carlisle were married, her sister was getting married soon, Emily and Sam are expecting. How could this get any better?
"Who are they?" Emily asked. Genesis turned around, smiling fondly at the two twins that she now considered her own. "That's Bree and Bradley. They're like my kids. They were with the newborns but betrayed them and saved my life." Genesis explained.
The three smiled. "Sounds like we should thank them." Paul said. Genesis shook her head with a smile and looked to the two, them instantly feeling her eyes and walking over. "Bree, Bradley, this is Emily, Sam, and Paul." Genesis introduced.
"Hello, it's nice to finally meet you. We've heard a lot about you guys." Bradley Held his hand out to shake and Bree smiled. Bree has come to find out that she has a gift to feel auras. She knows how anyone feels and their intentions. Almost like Jasper.
"It's good to meet you guys too. We heard what you did for Genesis, and we personally wanted to thank you two for saving our closest friend." Sam smiled, shaking the boy's hand. "Hey, how old were you two, if you don't mind me asking?" Emily asked. "Oh, it's okay, we don't mind. We're both eighteen." Bree answered.
"That's great! You guys are the same age as Seth and Leah. You could be friends." Paul suggested, turning and waving someone over, "Hey, Seth, Leah, we found you two some friends, come over here!" Paul called out. Two teens walked up and suddenly froze on the spot, the other two teens following suit.
All the other's eyes widened as they realized what was happening. Seth and Leah imprinted on Bree and Bradley, and they are their mates. "Oh my God." Sam breathed out, having never seen this before. "I can't believe it." Paul said. The two women smiled, happy to see that the set of broken teens had a chance at happiness.
Seth and Bree broke out first, Seth holding out his hand instantly, "Hi, I'm Seth." He introduced breathlessly, his eyes fixated on her and her alone. Bree grabbed his hand, Golden eyes sparkling in happiness, "Hi, I'm Bree." She replied. "You wanna dance?" Seth smirked, a confidence that the others had never seen suddenly sparking to life at Bree's shyness. "I'd like that." She smiled and followed him.
"You go, Seth." Paul smirked. The other three quickly shushed him, though, as they watched the other two teens break from their trance. Leah stares at the man, Sam totally leaving her mind, her broken heart mending and love for Sam being replaced entirely, almost as if it were never there. "The names Bradley, you wanna talk?" Bradley holds out his hand, waiting for her to join him. "Leah. You're quite the charmer. I'd love to." She winked, following the vampire boy outside.
Guess things can get better.
