《》Chapter 33: Battle Plan

Jasper had just explained everything to the wolves, and now the humans and wolves watched as the vampires fought. "Hi, Jake." Bella greeted the brown wolf as he stood between the two girls. Genesis looked over at his tall form, giving his head a small pet. "You know, Jake, I'm sure there's a girl out there that's worth your time." Genesis spoke. Bella gave her sister a shocked look, not expecting her to talk about this now.
Jacob huffed, making Bella sigh. Maybe Genesis is right about bringing it up. "You're tough, Jacob. Handsome, young, a leader in the making." Genesis continued, glancing at Bella for her input. "We're just humans, Jake. There are more of us out there. But, we love who we love. You can't change that." Bella commented. Jacob's head went down. He knew they were right about one thing. There aren't more girls like them, but they do love who they love. They're happy. He's seen it.
Jacob lifted his head and watched as Edward and Carlisle fought. He noticed how the two would look their way, making sure the girls were still there. As if they would disappear if they looked away too long. Jacob longed for a relationship like that. He now understands how Leah feels. He wishes he could find her. The one. If he did, he'd never think about the two sisters as anything more than friends.
At the end of their fight, Carlisle emerged victorious. Mostly because of Edward getting distracted, so there's no real way to see who exactly is stronger. The wolves left and Bella met up with Jasper. Esme and Chandler walked up to Genesis, Carlisle and Edward talking in the distance. "How's Jacob?" Esme asked. Genesis sighed, "He's not happy. But, when is he ever?" She huffed. Chandler shook his head, "He's in love with you guys." He said.

Genesis shook her head, "I don't think so. I think it's beyond that. Like he loves a part of us. Like, he'd want to take those parts and mix it together to make the perfect girl." She explained. "What is he going to do? He's seen how in love the two of you are. Why's he still harping on it?" Emmett commented, walking up with Rosalie as they joined the conversation. "Maybe there's a reason. Maybe it's fate or something. That he meets her when he's near us." Genesis suggested.
"You're saying fate is going to bring him to his imprint? And his imprint is someone that's going to come because of us?" Rosalie scoffed. Genesis gave her a playful look, "You're saying you don't believe in fate?" She mused, "Kind of sounds odd coming from the one who found her soulmate in another state miles away who just happen to not be dead yet." She smirked. Rosalie's eyebrows rose as she thought about it, everyone next to them chuckling.
"She has a point." Emmett chuckled as he pulled Rosalie closer to him. She rolled her eyes, but smiled. "I guess you have a point." She agreed. "You look at things very strangely for a human, you know that?" Chandler teased, making Esme hit him playfully. "Yeah, I know. But the world doesn't have to be looked at darkly. I'd like to think that everything works out as long as you believe it will." Genesis smiled.
"In times like these, I'm glad there's someone like you to brighten these days." Carlisle spoke from behind Genesis, wrapping his arms around her waist. Genesis smiled widely and leaned back in his embrace, "With you, there's no reason not to be bright." She winked. Carlisle gave her one of his charming grins and looked back to the rest of his family, "Pardon me, but I'm going to steal her for a bit." He excused as he grabbed her hand.

"No, mom!" Emmett cried jokingly as the two walked away laughing. They walked into the woods in silence, basking in the happy moment they have with each other for they don't know when they'll get another one. Suddenly, Carlisle stopped in front of a large tree, catching Genesis by surprise as he swiftly pull her on his back and sped up the tree. Genesis laughed as they ascended, taking in the beautiful view as they went.
Carlisle finally stopped and sat them on a sturdy branch. "I don't think I'll ever not love when you do that." Genesis giggled. Carlisle chuckled and looked down, his smile slightly wavering. Genesis grew concerned and grabbed his hand, "What's wrong?" She asked. "The plan is to get you and Bella safe on the mountain. Jacob is going to carry Bella, and Seth is going to carry you up so the newborns can't detect your scents." He explained.
Genesis sighed, "So, I won't be able to see you?" She guessed. Carlisle shook his head, "No. I'm going to make sure for myself that no newborn gets their hands on you. Edward will be with you two, though." He said. Genesis rolled her eyes, "Great. Now I have to listen to Jacob and Edward fight as Bella tries and fails to get them to calm down." She complained. Carlisle chuckled, "You think it would be better if I were there? He gives me a reason to be weary of him."
"Yeah. But, you can control yourself since I calmed you down. Edward's just gonna give in to Jacob's antics. You know Jacob is just going to patronize him because he thinks he's not good enough for Bella." Genesis argued. Carlisle nodded, "Why Do you think he wouldn't do the same to me?" He questioned. "Because," Genesis smiled and pulled him closer to her to where their faces were only inches apart, "you are kind," she gives his cheek a kiss, "you show compassion," another kiss on his other cheek, "you're understanding," a kiss on his forehead, "and," she kisses his lips,
"You're perfect."
