《》Chapter 30: Intuder

Genesis sighed as she walked next to Bella and Jacob. Emily and the boys had lost their minds when they saw Genesis and it made Genesis realize how much she missed spending time with them. Carlisle had told her that he would never keep her away from them, but she didn't want him to worry so much while she was gone, so she was going to wait a bit before doing so.
Look how well that turned out.
Jacob was talking about imprinting and how Sam and Emily came to be. He then told Bella about how Emily got her scars and Bella sighed, "I know what you did, Jacob." She stated. Genesis now wished she had stayed with Edward back at the school. Jacob stopped and sent Genesis a worried look. "I didn't tell her, if it makes you feel any better." Genesis sighed. "Who did?" He asked.
"It doesn't matter," Bella dismissed, "I just want you to know, that if you ever do that again, I will kick your ass." She said. Genesis shook her head, "Bella, I told you it wasn't his fault." She scolded. "I know. And that's why I'm warning him now. If he does it now, I have every right to be pissed." She said. Jacob sighed. "Who else knows?" He asked. "The Cullen's." Genesis answered truthfully. He rolled his eyes, "Oh, great. Now they have a good reason to hate me." He said sarcastically.
They finally made it inside the garage and Genesis ended up tuning out their conversation. Why? Because she was tired of this. She felt as if she and Bella were accidentally pulling Jacob along, making him feel as if their was actually a chance for him to get with either of them. It seems like he as not yet been informed of her and Carlisle's relationship. She had to change that soon. Set things straight.
Her thoughts were cut off by something flying just an inch past her face and into the wall beside her. Her eyes widened, wondering what the hell she could have missed for him to almost kill her with a wrench. "I'd rather you two be dead than one of them!" Jacob seethed. Now Genesis knew what was going on. She looked at him, hurt by his words. Bella only scoffed and grabbed Genesis's wrist, pulling her out of the garage and to Genesis's car.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!" Jacob called as he followed them. Bella turned around, "Stay away from us!" She yelled. She got into the car while Genesis started it. "Let's get out of here." Bella huffed.
Once the two were in the house, Charlie stood at the doorway of the living room. "You know, Edward could at least respect meal times." He said. Charlie didn't like Edward, that was obvious. He still liked Carlisle, though. Sure, he was upset at first, but Genesis made up a story that Carlisle only left because Edward wanted to. That was actually the truth. Bella didn't much appreciate it, but she couldn't blame Genesis for saving Carlisle from Charlie's wrath. At least she had the chance to.
"We were with Jacob." Genesis smiled. Bella was happy that Genesis was a very convincing person. It actually looked like she wasn't upset by Jacob's temper tantrum. Charlie smiled, happy that Bella was actually getting space from Edward. Charlie nodded and walked off. Bella sighed in relief, "Thanks Gen." She said. "Always." She sighed.
A knock sounded at the door and Bella opened it to reveal Edward, Carlisle standing calmly behind him as his son went off. "You have no idea how worried I've been!" He exclaimed to Bella. Genesis slipped behind him and smiled at Carlisle. He smiled back. He wasn't mad about her going with Bella and Jacob. He trusts Genesis and knows that she can handle herself. Sure, he was worried, but that's just because he's overprotective.
"I'm sorry." She sighed. He shook his head, "You've done nothing wrong." He assured. She gave him a smile and hugged him. She loved these moments with him. Where there was nothing wrong to get in the way of their happiness. Suddenly, Edward sped out the door, which surprised Genesis since she didn't even see him go in. "What's wrong?" Genesis asked, concerned as to why he was now in a panic.

"Someone's been in yours and Bella's rooms." He gritted out. Genesis's eyes widened. She felt Carlisle hug her tighter against his body. He wasn't about to let anything happen to her. He just got her back not too long ago. Thinking he lost her was the worst thing he has ever experienced, he'd be damned if he let it actually happen. "Who? Anyone we know?" Carlisle asked. Edward shook his head and brought Bella out to his car, Carlisle doing the same.
Guess you can't always get what you want.
Everyone sat around in the Cullen's living room, giving ideas as to who it could have been. It went from Nomads, to the Volturi, to Victoria. Alice denied them all. Genesis couldn't help but still believe that it was Victoria. If Alice has been keeping up with Aro and no nomads have been around, who the hell else could it have been? Maybe Alice just couldn't see her because she is in the background of whoever it actually was.
Edward gave her an interested look, her thoughts sounding very likely. Genesis caught his eye. 'They took Bella's shirt and my jacket, Eddy. There's no one else who could want us dead. At least, that I can think of. No normal vampire would be hunting us down for no reason.' Genesis thought to him. This was certainly new. She'd never had an inward conversation with Edward before.
Edward nodded, taking the idea and pondering on it. "We have to watch over them." Carlisle said, "We can't leave them unprotected." Genesis shook her head. They had to do this with James, and now Victoria. She didn't want to have to be protected. Rosalie sighed as she looked over at Genesis. She knew she didn't like this. She didn't like it either. But, she's actually not going to complain. She wants to protect her. They all do.
"No." Genesis said. She stood up from her spot and crossed her arms. She was tired of this. This was her family too, and she wasn't about to put them in danger again. Carlisle made eye contact with her. No one dared to intervene. This was like a battle of overprotectiveness. "Genesis, I'm not going to leave you or Bella to die." He said calmly. "I'm not going to let you or our family starve and put themselves in harms way." She argued.
She knew she was being irrational, but, she couldn't help it. She didn't want to see them hurt. Carlisle wanted to argue back, but he couldn't exactly calm his mind down when he heard her prefer to them as 'our family'. "Genesis is right." Bella piped up, gaining everyone's attention. "But, Carlisle is also right. It's either they help us, or we die. And, we all know we can't live without each other, so," she trailed off.
Genesis looked at her, and then back at Carlisle. Bella was right. She would protect Bella from everything, but even she couldn't hold off a vampire. Especially since there seems to be more. Genesis huffed, "Fine." She said. "I'm sorry." She told Carlisle. He gave her forgiving smile. "But, you guys aren't going alone. You're going to take shifts so you can eat." She said as she pulled out her phone. They all gave her a confused look. "Who are you calling?" Bella asked.
"Sam."

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
