It was after school and Genesis decided she wanted to go catch up with her friends in La Push. She knew that they most likely wouldn't approve of her relationship with Carlisle, but she also knew that they were her friends, and that they would accept her relationship as long as she was happy.

News flash: she was right. Sam, Paul, and Jared were a bit ticked off when they found out that she was Carlisle's mate, but they were also glad that it was him out of all of the ones that it could have been. The elders of the tribe never talked bad about Carlisle, or the rest of the Cullen's for that matter. Yes, they were told that they were the enemies, but what the elders had really meant was their kind.

Sam had talked to the elders about the Cullen's once before and asked how they had managed to make a treaty, with what he was taught, were monsters. Billy had told him that Carlisle was more gracious than the rest of the Cullen boys. He had said that Carlisle was more than willing to have peace with them. Billy had been amazed himself of how kind and understanding he was.

Billy told them that Carlisle was the first vampire he had ever met that valued human life just as much as the wolves did. They were also told that Carlisle has worked in hospitals for years, and had never slipped up once. So, obviously, they were glad it was him.

Emily had been informed of the good things about Carlisle, so she was happy for her friend. She would kind of be a hypocrite if she had judged her for dating a 'monster'.

Genesis knew that she could trust the four enough to tell them about her past 'incident', so she told them everything. She even included how Carlisle was the first one she ever told after he treated her in the hospital. Her group of friends were now much more pleased with her and Carlisle's relationship. They loved their new friend, and was happy that she was finally not alone after what happened to her.

Speaking of what happened to her, they were not pleased. The boys had demanded to know where the guy was. Genesis almost laughed. The wolf boys were behaving just like the vampire boys did when she told them. How ironic. Emily was angry, but she focused more on comforting rather than revenge.

Genesis also told them of how history was trying to repeat itself a week prior to this conversation. She had reminded the boys of how she had said Carlisle had saved her from another tragedy. She went more into detail and the four were impressed that even in the moment of his mate's life being in danger, Carlisle managed not to kill any of the boys and still kept his side of the treaty.

They couldn't believe that they actually approved of her relationship. And, honestly, neither could Genesis. She had thought they She was going to have to calm them down or something.

"Wanna go to the beach?" Genesis suggested after their long talk. "You read my mind." Emily laughed.

Genesis had finally made it home after a day of fighting Jared and Paul on going cliff diving. She would have to have a really good reason to jump off a freaking cliff and 'because it's fun' wasn't one.

Bella walked through their combined door into Genesis's room and fell lazily onto her bed. Genesis raised an eyebrow before shrugging and laying on top of her. "What's on your mind?" Genesis asked. Bella sighed and shook her head, "Edward said that him and Carlisle want us to play baseball with them this weekend."

Genesis scrunched her eyebrows together, "Isn't there a thunderstorm this weekend?" She asked. Bella nodded her head, "That's what I thought. But Edward said it's the only time they can play." She explained. Genesis snorted, "Maybe it's so they can hit the ball and it sound like thunder." She laughed. Bella shook her head and laughed, "Yeah right. If it was like that, you'd think they'd break the bat."

Just then, they heard a small thump from Bella's room. The girls froze. Charlie wasn't home because he had to stay overtime. And even if he was home, he wouldn't be in Bella's room without Bella being in there. Genesis stood up slowly and rose a hand up, signaling her sister to stay and be quiet. Quickly and quietly, Genesis took a bat from her closet by their shared door and raised it.

She looked back at Bella one last time before she whipped the door open and swung at the intruder. Genesis had closed he eyes, not wanting to see the impact her metal bat was going to make on the person. But, her bat stopped halfway to the intruder. Genesis opened her eyes and looked up to see none other than Edward Cullen.

"Edward?!" She exclaimed, confused to see him sneaking around in her little sister's room. "You better give me an extremely good reason why I shouldn't kick your ass." She said as she squinted at him. Bella was now behind her, confused, but relieved that it was just Edward.

"I have like, three." He said. She rose an eyebrow, signaling him to go on. "I like watching her sleep," He started. Genesis's eyebrows rose and Bella snorted from behind her. "Also, you'd break anything you throw at me, even a metal bat," he continued, "also, you know me. I would have done something by now if I meant any harm." He finished.

Genesis thought it over. She knew what he meant, but it didn't make it any less creepy. She looked back at Bella, "He watches you sleep?" She asked. Bella only nodded. Genesis looked back at him. "Dude, that's creepy as hell." She said. Edward thought for a moment and nodded his head, "Yeah. But it gives me something to do. It also mean I can protect her, so," he trailed off.

"Why didn't you just start with that instead of being all mysterious and creepy?" Genesis asked. Genesis looked back at Bella, she was going to tease the emo boy, "Why does Edward look like he's depressed?" She asked, blatantly ignoring the fact he could hear her. "I thought you said he looked like a cat?" Bella laughed. Genesis went into her room and pushed Bella to Edward.

"Well now I believe he's a ferret. Goodnight." Genesis shut the door as she heard laughter coming from Bella. Genesis giggled after hearing Edward start to laugh too. "That wasn't very nice." A voice startled her from behind. Genesis quickly turned to see Carlisle. She raised her eyebrows at him and he smiled from his place beside the window.

"You been watching me sleep like ferret boy in there?" She asked. Carlisle laughed and shook his head. "Edward's been doing that since before you two found out about us. I had always thought it was a bit rude and an intrusion on personal space." He explained. Genesis smiled, "I appreciate that. I don't mind though, if you ever got bored or something. I know you wouldn't do anything."

Genesis put her bat back in her closet and turned back to face him once again. Carlisle's eyebrows shot up as he stared at her closet that she put the bat in. "You were going to hit Edward?" He asked. "To be fair, I didn't know it was him. Also, I did swing at him. He just caught it because he's a rat." She pouted.

"I resent that!" Edward called from Bella's room. The two exchanged looks before laughing. "So, What brings you here?" Genesis asked, sitting on her bed and gesturing him to join her. "I wanted to spend time with you." He smiled. Genesis smiled back at him. What did she do to deserve such a man?

"I went over to La Push today," Genesis began. Carlisle knew where this was going. He had mentally prepared himself for the wolves backlash after Genesis had befriended them. "They're happy for us." She said.

Carlisle was shocked to say the least. The wolves approved of their relationship? Genesis noticed the look on his face and decided to go into detail, "Billy had told them about you before. How gracious and kind you were when the tribe demanded the treaty. They also know that you're a doctor and that you saved me. They were more than relieved that it was you who turned out to be mated to me." She assured.

Carlisle sighed in relief, happy that he wouldn't have confrontation with the wolves. He didn't know if he could be as peaceful if they came between him and Genesis. He smiled, "I'm glad they approve of us. It makes me happy that I had made such a lasting impact on the chief that he would speak so highly of me."

Genesis grabbed his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, "You're a great man, Carlisle. You were delt a bad hand at life but you were given a second chance, and you decided to use that second chance to help others." Genesis was rambling on about what she adored about him, not even thinking about how he was listening and taking every word she said to heart.

"You know, Genesis, you're like an angel without wings." Carlisle said. Genesis smirked, amused by his flirting. Did it make her swoon on the inside? Hell yes. But was she going to let him have that victory? Hell no. She smiled cheekily at him, "So, like a person?" She asked, obviously teasing him.

Carlisle snorted before fully laying down on the bed. "Wow, okay. I'm never flirting again. Emmett said that would work, but no. You had to tease me." Carlisle crossed his arms, pouting. Genesis laughed and put her knees on either side of him and hugging him. "Jeez. What are you, three?" She laughed.

"Yeah. Three heads taller than you." He smirked. Genesis pulled away and crossed her arms while she sat on his lap facing him. That wasn't necessarily true. He was six feet tall while she stood at just above her sister's height, five foot, six inches. "Now who's the one teasing?" Genesis pouted. Carlisle laughed and pulled her back in for a hug.

"I'm sorry." He chuckled. "No you're not." She smirked. He thought for a moment and shook his head, "You're right, I'm not." He laughed again as she punched his chest. "Seriously though, how old are you?" She asked. He scrunched up his eyebrows I thought, "Physically; twenty three. Actually; like three hundred and something. I've lost count." He said.

"Wow. You're young." She said, referring to his physical age. Carlisle made a face, "Young? I'm more than fifteen times your age." He said. She smacked his chest. "Physically, dummy." She huffed. He chuckled.

They sat their for a while, just holding each other close without a care in the world. That was, until Genesis decided to speak, "I hope one of you break the bat this weekend." Carlisle couldn't help but let out a lout laugh, making Genesis laugh too. "Why are you this way?" He asked, still unable to control his laughter.

Genesis sat up and hovered over his head, smirking down at him, "You love me." She said, giving him a goofy smile. Carlisle wrapped his arms around her waist and smiled up at her, "I do." Genesis leaned down and gave him a sweet kiss. One of Carlisle's hands moved up to cup her cheek as the kiss got more passionate.

Genesis pulled away to breathe and looked down at the man under her. He was perfect in every sense of the word. She was starting to wonder what she ever did without him. He was everything she had dreamed of and more. She had to thank God for giving her such a blessing. She used to think that she was too damaged to ever have someone. Who would want a used woman who couldn't bare children? Maybe a vampire was God's present to her after all.

At least, that's what she was going to choose to believe.
