《》Chapter 10: Love

The weekend had rolled around and the Swan sisters decided they would clean their cars. They were talking to each other as they cleaned, cracking jokes so much they take longer than one would usually take to clean a car.
"I'm just saying that Edward looks like a cat." Genesis laughed. "He stares you down as if he's about to pounce. Just like a freaking pus-" Bella threw water on Genesis before she could finish her sentence. Bella was already laughing at her sister's joke, but almost died when Genesis glared at her for soaking her. Genesis smirked and grabbed her own cleaning bucket, dumping it on Bella.
Bella gasped and pushed Genesis. Genesis laughed and tackled the younger girl to the ground. The girls play fought until a thud came from the top of Bella's truck. The two girls stopped and looked up at Edward who looked at the two girls amused. Genesis stood up and helped Bella up off the ground as Edward jumped down from his spot.
"Can't you at least act human? You know we have neighbors, right?" Genesis smirked. Edward laughed and looked at Bella. "I'm gonna take you to meet my family tomorrow." He stated. He then pulled the bump out of her old truck. "Thanks." Bella said impressed. "What if they don't like me?" She asked.
"So you're worried, not because you'll be in a house full of vampires, but because you're afraid they won't approve of you?" Edward asked amused. "I'm glad I amuse you." Bella huffed. Genesis shook her head and saw Billy's truck starting to head to their house. "Oh look Bella, it's Billy." Genesis said. Edward shared a look with her before he nodded and looked back to Bella.
"I've got to go," he looked back, "Uh, complication." He said as he walked over to his car. Billy pulled in and gave us a smile. "Here to visit your cars?" Bella asked. "More like our tv." Genesis joked. Billy laughed. "She got me."

Genesis sat in the Cullen's living room as the Cullen's made food. They wanted to make a good impression on Bella, who Genesis knew was already a nervous wreck. She was going to help but Esme insisted that they cook for them both. So there Genesis sat on the couch, sneaking glances at Carlisle, who was cutting chicken at the moment.
She couldn't get Bella's question out of her head, which only brought a list of more questions. Did she love Carlisle? Did he love her? Did Carlisle have a mate? How the hell do vampires know how to cook? The questions were endless! And there was no way she could answer any of them. Well, except for the last one. She could hear a video tutorial in the kitchen. She was glad they were able to follow along better than her when she tried to follow a Bob Ross tutorial.
She couldn't piece her feelings together. She had never kissed anyone. And she had never looked for a boyfriend after the incident. She had no clue what love was, yet Bella somehow figured it out before her. Speaking of Bella, she and Edward have just pulled up outside. Genesis stood up, opting to think more on her feelings later.
"Get a whiff of that," Rosalie started, "here comes the human!" She scoffed. Rosalie had confessed her dislike of Bella to Genesis when she had arrived. Bella struck Rosalie as destructive, which Genesis couldn't argue with. Her sister did seem to be more accident prone than the average person. Genesis would know.
Rose had also commented on how hooked Bella seemed to be on Edward. Like she relied on him to keep her breathing. Rose didn't like it when women weren't more independent. It gave her bad memories. And she was afraid that Bella would demand to be turned. And Rosalie couldn't be more irritated with the thought. Bella could have a family, where as she couldn't.

Rosalie didn't exactly love the idea of Genesis one day becoming one of them, but she didn't have a chance at a normal life either. Rosalie considered Genesis one of them, only human. She had the same problem as Rose. And that fact is why the two are so close.
Bella and Edward appeared up the stairs and Esme went to greet them. Genesis stood by Carlisle, watching intently as he followed the tutorial on the tablet. "She already ate." Edward says. Rosalie basically popped the salad bowl in her hands, startling Genesis with the noise. Genesis was behind Carlisle in a second flat, him blocking her from the glass shards.
Genesis quickly turned him back around, instinctively checking for injuries. She, of course, saw no injury, but she did find glass shards in the shirt he was wearing. She went to pull them out before Carlisle stopped her. He shook his head. She understood that he didn't want her to hurt herself and she sighed. "Thank you." She said. He smiled. "Of course."
Genesis looked back to see Edward taking Bella upstairs. "Now what are we gonna do with all this food?" Emmett complains. Genesis smiled. "I'll take it home. I could give it to Bella for dinner." She suggested. "That's a wonderful idea." Esme smiled gleefully. Esme's smile faded as she looked at the salad of the floor. "Clean this up." Esme told Rose sternly.
Rosalie sighed and looked at Genesis. "I'm sorry." She apologized. "No need to apologize. I understand why you're upset." Genesis went to help Rosalie clean up the mess. "Though I am mad that you ruined a perfectly good salad." Genesis pouted, about to crouch down to help. Rose was about to protest before Carlisle grabbed Genesis's wrist and gently pulled her back. "No glass."
Everyone was off doing their own thing. Edward was with Bella somewhere, Emmett and Rose were watching tv, Alice and Jasper were talking in a tree, and Genesis had insisted her and Carlisle to take a walk in the woods. "So," she began, " what else do I not know?" She asked, looking over to Carlisle as they walked.
Carlisle thought for a moment before stopping and looking over at her. She stopped and looked back at him. "Do you trust me?" Carlisle asked. Genesis didn't hesitate. "With my life." She responded. Carlisle swore that if his heart were beating, it would have just stopped. He sped over to her and quickly put her on his back.
"Hold on." He instructed before speeding all the way into an open area where the sun shines. Carlisle let her down and began to unbutton his collared shirt. He stepped into the sunlight, instantly shining like glass. "Woah." Genesis breathed, stepping closer. She had never seen something so breathtakingly beautiful. He was always breathtaking, but this was a new level.
"And I thought you looked stunning before." Genesis mumbled, quickly putting her hand over her mouth. She hadn't meant to say that out loud. Carlisle was amused yet also shocked. He didn't know she saw him that way. "I'm sorry." Genesis apologized quickly.
"It's okay. I think you're stunning as well." He confessed. Carlisle thought about throwing himself out of a tree. Did he really just say that? Carlisle stepped out of the light and buttoned his shirt back. He didn't know what to say. But, apparently, Genesis did. She had a question on her mind that she couldn't shake, and she really wanted to know. Especially in this very moment.
"What is love?"
