《》Chapter 3: Sleepover

Bella had told me about how Edward seemed like he despised her. I reassured her that he didn't but that didn't stop her from making it her mission to confront him about their interaction. I encouraged her to do so, seeing as that confrontation could help her through her dilemma. I'm sure it was all just a misunderstanding.

Bella would have believed that too, if the boy didn't flat out ditch the next few days of school. I had sat with the Cullen's at lunch since Bella's friends seemed to bring out the worst in me, or what Rosalie saw as the best. "Would you like to stay the night today, Genesis?" Alice pulled me out of my thoughts. We were at lunch and I couldn't help but stare off into the distance and lose myself in my thoughts. "We can go to the mall and hang out at out at our place!" Alice explained gleefully.

Directing my attention towards her, I could slightly see a mischievous glint in her eyes, as if she were planning something. What would she be planning? Or am I over analyzing? "I'd love to Alice. I'll text Charlie and Bella." I smiled. I'm glad I was able to make friends. I honestly thought I'd be more of an outcast than Bella. "Great! Meet us after school in the parking lot. You can follow us home."

Bella had been a bit hesitant on me going to the Cullen's house. I had told her that I wouldn't go if she didn't want me to. I always hold myself off if Bella needs me. I don't want her feeling alone. I've lost friends in the past because Bella didn't like them or when she just wanted me for herself. I've never let her down. I was surprised when she encouraged me to go. She had wanted time to herself to think about how she was going to confront Edward whenever he decided to come back.

So that brings me to here, going down a driveway behind Emmett's Jeep. Once their house came into view, I almost slammed on the breaks. It's huge! I put my eyes back on the driveway before I stared so long I'd crash. I came to a stop where Emmett had directed me, in front of the house. I get out of the car and stare at the house again. "Woah." I mumble. I hear them start laughing at my reaction.

"I probably should have expected a big house, since you all live here, but it's gorgeous." I laugh. "Thanks." Rosalie laughed as she hooked her arm with mine, leading me towards the house. Upon entering, I debated in my head wether or not I was even worthy enough to breathe in the same vicinity as this house. I feel too poor to even touch the floor with my filthy commoner shoes.

"I feel so out of place yet so at home." I say. I see Jasper shake his head. "You're not out of place." He reassured me. There seemed to be a bit more behind that statement, but I didn't question it. "We just wanted to show you around before we went shopping. We also wanted you to meet our aunt Esme and uncle Chandler. We've told them a lot about you." Alice said. I smiled shyly and nodded my head.

"Hey, don't be scared. They already love you." Emmett reassured. They led me up the stairs where I see a kitchen and living room area. On the couch is a beautiful woman and handsome man, who I assumed to be Esme and Chandler. "Oh yay!" Esme said jumping up from her spot on the couch, dragging up an amused Chandler with her.

"Hi! I'm Esme, and this is Chandler." Esme greeted once she was in front of me, sticking out her hand. Smiling, I shake her hand gently. "Genesis Swan. It's nice to meet you." I introduced. "We've heard a lot about you from the children. You seem to make quite a good impression." Chandler smiled. "I try." I smile shyly. "Let's show you around the house!" Alice clapped her hands before grabbing my hand and taking me further upstairs. "It was nice to meet you!" I call being pulled up the stairs.

Alice showed me all their rooms, going into slight detail when it came to her room and Rosalie's room, showing me their closets and styles. The last room we went to was Edward's. I could see Edward sitting on a sofa, listening to classical music while staring off into the distance. "Could I possibly talk to him?" I whispered to Alice. She hesitated a bit before nodded and heading back downstairs.

I walked further into Edward's room, gaining his attention. From the look on his face, I could tell he knew what I was there for. He stood up and cut off the music and gave me his undivided attention, waiting for my wrath as he looked down at his shoes. I smiled a bit. "Are you okay?" I asked sincerely. He looked back up at me confused. I looked him in the eyes, reading him as if he were an open book.

He smiled a small smile back at me. "Yeah. I'm okay." He said, looking back down. "I know you didn't mean to hurt my sister. I don't know why you did what you did, but I know you have your reasons." I assured him. He looked back up at me. "Thank you for understanding." He said. I nodded my head and went to leave, saying "Please try and talk to her. She could use a good friend like you."

Walking back downstairs, I looked back at my friends and smiled. "Ready to go?"

Coming back to the Cullen's house, I tried to decipher who's bag was who's. "I'd say we got too much stuff, but to be honest, there's half of me that thinks it's not enough." I mused, checking that I got all of my clothes in one bag. "Emmett and Jasper shared a look and started laughing. "You guys are insane." Emmett laughed. "If this is insane then I don't wanna be sane." Rosalie laughed.

"By the way, Genesis, there's one more Cullen you have to meet." Alice smirked. They all gave each other an amused look. "Who?"

After putting my bags into my car, I walk back inside to see Alice waiting for me. "Carlisle is upstairs. He's eager to meet you." She smiled, a knowing glint in her eyes. I stop for a minute and look down. "What wrong?" She asked, moving towards me. "It's just, you guys are so nice to me. And I already feel close to you guys. Almost like we're family." I mumbled, embarrassed.

Alice smiled widely and grabbed my hand. "You're special, Genesis. I don't think anyone has ever made Jasper and Rose as happy as you. You broke through their walls. Usually, if any of us made friends, it was hard to keep them around when Rose and Jasper were around. They're not very trusting people. But, they trust you whole heartedly now, and so do the rest of us. To us, you are family." Alice explained.

I teared up a bit. "I had never meant so much to other people. My family, of course, values me a lot. I'm always there for them. But to have others that see me that way, makes me feel important and gives my life meaning." I sighed happily. I could see the others on the stairs, listening in on our conversation. "You will always have value to us." Rose comments. "Thank you." I smile at them, wiping my tears away.

Sighing, I shake my head of the negative thoughts, looking back at the family. "So, who am I meeting?" I ask. They all exchanged looks and the rest went upstairs as Alice held my hand in hers. "Carlisle. He works at the hospital. He wasn't here earlier to meet you, so we thought now would be a good time." She explained. "Are you sure? I wouldn't want to bother him after a long days work." I said, unsure.

"Nonsense! He's waited long enough to meet you!" She said, dragging me up the stairs. That sounded like it had a double meaning to it. Arriving in the kitchen, I see the back of a blonde man, who I assumed to be Carlisle. He was talking to Esme. Esme caught sight of me and smirked, she then looked to the man and nodded in my direction. He turned around and looked into my eyes.

From that point, he stood frozen in his tracks, as if he were held at gun point. I took this time to analyze him fully. He looked to be way too young to have five teenage children. He looked to be in his early twenties. His skin was pale white and he had bright Golden eyes, though when I looked into them, it seemed to change into a black color.

I felt this sort of pull towards him. As if I am meant to be by his side. I broke out of my trance when he shook his head and headed towards me. Smiling down at me, he held out his hand with a kind smile. "Carlisle Cullen. Nice to meet you." He introduced. I took his hand and shook it gently, looking him in the eyes. "Genesis Swan. It's nice to meet you too." I said.

After meeting Carlisle, the Cullen children decided it was time to watch a movie. "Hey, Gen, you should go with Carlisle to find a movie to watch. He has the movies in his study." Rosalie suggested. "Okay, but if you have Captain America then I hope you're ready for a marathon." I laughed. Rosalie giggled and I Jasper gave me a thankful look. I guess he likes Captain America too.

Looking up at Carlisle, he smiled down at me, nodding his head. I squeal and drag him to his study that Alice showed me earlier. Once in the room, I went to his movie collection, looking for the movie that I love so dearly. I heard Carlisle chuckle from behind me, making me look up at him amused. "What?" I laughed. He shook his head, "You must love Marvel movies." He inquired.

"You are correct good sir. I used to whip them out every time my sister, Bella, was sad. I took a huge liking to them when I figured out they made her happy. I grew to love them when I actually got into them. I'm now a huge comic book nerd." I laughed. "You must really care about your sister." He smiled. I nodded my head, "I'd protect her with my life. She doesn't deserve the harm that this world offers. I'd rather die than see her get hurt." I explained.

He seemed to stiffen as I talked about me dying. "We're really close. I've protected her from the world for as long as I can remember. I've taken on her bullies, distracted her through our parents fights, and even lost a few friends so she wouldn't be alone." I say, not able to stop myself from disclosing so much information to him. "But what are big sister for, right?" I smile, looking on the bright side.

Finding the movie, I stand up from my crouched down spot, and look back at him. He has an unreadable expression on his face, seemingly taking in all that I've said. "Hey, don't look like that. You look like a kicked puppy. Are you okay?" I ask, looking into his eyes to try to read his emotions. "I'm okay." He smiled, calming down from whatever was bothering him.

Smiling, we walked back up to the living room and I held up the movie with a smirk on my face. "Anyone who talks during the movie gets thrown out the window."
