I can't believe it! I'm at Tanner's lake house to start a relationship with him! I take my bag into the room that he had given me. I jump into the shower quickly.

After we eat he wants to try to be business like at the same time as he takes me into his arms. His kisses are like going home in paradise. As Tanner picked me up, I wrap my legs around him.

Tanner carries me upstairs to his bedroom. I pull his shirt off as I feel the mattress under my ass. Then my shirt was pulled over my head. I hadn't put a bra on after my shower.

I lift my ass off the bed as Tanner pulls my shorts and panties off with one pull. I unbutton his jeans and push them over his hips with his boxers briefs. I like having my head on his shoulder. We lay snuggled for a while to recoup our breath. "So what will you do after the army? Have you thought about it?" He asks as he runs his fingers in my hair.

"Well I am kinda good with computers. Maybe private investigation or programming. I have a few months to think about it."

He was quiet for a while. I thought that he had fallen asleep. "You and I could open a private detective agency. I can see us working together."

"We could. I guess it all depends on what Sanders wants with me in the morning. He may go ahead and get rid of me."

"I don't think so. He is too impressed with you." Tanner turns to his side to face me. "How can a man not be impressed with you? Hell, I've been hooked since I first read your file!"

Tanner lowers his lips to mine. I return his kiss with a passion I didn't realize that I had. Then his phone rings. He ignores it until it stops ringing.

He raises his lips and looks at the offensive phone. Debating on whether to check it or not. We hear car tires coming to a stop outside the front. "What the fuck?!"

He jumps up and looks out of the window. "Shit! It's my parents." I get up and throw my clothes on and head for the door. "Where are you going?"

"To get dressed! My clothes are in the other room."

"Bring them in here." He says as I closed the door. I quickly wash up and dress in shorts and a t-shirt of my own. I pull my uniform from the closet and take everything to Tanner's room. I hear them talking as I go downstairs.

"Hey guys! I didn't expect you. I wish you had told me you were coming. I would have taken the day off tomorrow." Tanner told his mom and dad.

"We decided just this afternoon. Chris and his crew are coming tomorrow. Your dad wanted to spend the weekend here. Is that a problem, son?"

"Of course not mom! I'm always happy to see you!" I see him hug his mom. "I'll just call the guys and tell them that you are here. We usually have the whole team here on Saturdays."

"Well hello, dear! Are you Beth?" His dad asked me.

"Umm, yes sir. I'm Bethany Adamson." We shake hands. Tanner does the introductions.

"Actually, Bethany and I are in love. So she will be around as much as possible." Erika squealed and launched herself at me. Wrapping me in a bear hug. One that I happily returned.

"We have seen your picture on Tanner's phone. I have always thought that you were beautiful, but the real person is even more so! Welcome to the family!"

"Thank you Erika. That is very sweet of you." We sit in the den and get to know each other. An hour later my phone rings with Jaden's face. "Excuse me. This is my little brother." I stand and go outside to talk to Jaden. "Hey little brother! What's up?"

"Hey shorty! I just talked to dad. What the hell is going on? Sleeping with your c.o.?"

"It is called a relationship. Dating. As in we are adults and know what we are doing. I'm not signing a new contract. So I will be a citizen."

"Bethany! Seriously?! Tanner?"

"Jaden! Don't be a douche! Its me. When was the last time I did something without thinking about all possible reactions? I am not Braden!"

"Hey! That ain't fair, little sister!" I hear Braden.

"Face it Braden. You do some stupid shit. But I love you both and would stand behind you no matter what."

"That's what I told him, shorty!" Braden replied laughing.

"Alright, we have your back. I was just shocked. You've only had one boyfriend. It just surprised me. That's all. Sorry, Bethany."

"That is much better. Thank you little brothers!"

"Soooo? Is he good in bed?" Braden asked.

I couldn't keep the laugh from erupting. "I'm not going to discuss my sex life with you guys! Grow up!" After another few minutes of laughing together, I cut Braden's bragging off. "Listen little guys, I need to get back in there. Tanner's parents are here. I love you guys!"

"We love you too shorty!" They both said before we hang up.

I go back to the den. "Everything ok, nerd?"

"Yes. You know that Jaden tries to play overprotective big brother. So I brought him back down."

Tanner chuckled and pulled me to his side.

"So Bethany, how many siblings do you have?" Matt asked.

"I have a half sister, a half brother, and two step-brothers."

"Do you have any children of your own?" Erika asked.

"No ma'am. When I was in high school, I was busy with school, work, and sports. Then after graduating, I took about two weeks for myself then joined the Army. Where I have concentrated on my work."

"What do your parents do?" She asked.

"My dad is a homicide detective in Tulsa. My step mom, who I call mom, is an icu nurse. My step father is in prison for drugs and theft. My mother doesn't work. I will be totally honest with you. I don't have or want anything to do with my mother and step father. They like to cheat people out of everything. They cheated my dad out of child support. They cheated me out of knowing who my real father was and my college tuition. They can't even be faithful to each other."

They both nodded their heads. Erika and Matt both started yawning. So we all went to bed. Tanner held me as we slept.

I wake up with my alarm at five hundred. I shower and dress in my uniform before Tanner got up. "Hey nerd. Where are you going?" He looked at his watch to see that it was six hundred. "Shit! I was hoping to love on my nerd before work."

"Why don't you take the day off. Spend some time with your family." I suggest as I braid my hair.

"I am. But I have a little meeting this morning with the prosecutor. Then I'll be able to come back here for the weekend." He was getting dressed in his uniform too.

"Mmm sexy!" I say as I look over at him. He slides me his sexy grin. Then pulls me in for a kiss. We break apart and head for the door.

I start fixing his breakfast as he makes coffee. Erika comes in as I'm about half way finished.

"Good morning, Erika. Sleep well?"

"I did!"

We sit as a family to eat. "So what time are you coming back here today?" Tanner asks me.

"I don't know. Just depends on Sanders and any thing that comes up." I say as I stand to wash my dishes.

"I want you to spend the weekend. Can you?"

"Most likely. I can call you after my meeting."

"Sounds great! I'll wash the dishes." Tanner volunteers.

"Thank you! I need to get gone. I love you, Tanner." We kiss quickly. "I'll see you later Matt and Erika. If you need anything from town, let me know. Can you give them my number?" Tanner nods.

"Thank you, Bethany. Have a good day!"

"You too. Later!" I left.

As I'm almost to base, a text comes from Tanner. I don't check it until I pull in front of my office. It was a picture of us together this morning. Apparently he had snapped it while I wasn't aware of it.

I put my phone away and walked the two blocks to Sanders' office. A few hours later I leave stunned. I go to my office and shut the door. What the hell?! I look at my phone.

I'm at the lake house.

I check my email. Nothing has come in. I make my mind up to take off. I close up my office and go to my apartment. I pack a weekend bag, including a uniform for Monday. I grab my laptop and head for my truck. I go to the grocery store.

I pull up to the house and grab everything that I brought. There is a four door pickup in the drive. His brother must be here. Nobody is in the house. So I assume they are outside. I put on some shorts and go for a run. I noticed that the atv is gone, so they are out for a ride.

I strike out for a run around the lake as I have done several times. As I'm approaching the house again, I see everyone at the dock. The two women are sitting in the shade as the guys are all fishing.

Tanner sees me first and puts his rod on the dock. He scoops me into his arms and kisses me deeply. "I missed you today!"

"Honey, I'm sweaty. I need a shower."

"Was it that bad? You only run when something heavy is on your mind."

"He wants me to patent my security system. He had me fill out the paperwork for it. Right there in his office. Then he called in captain Marquez."

Tanner's eyes widened. "Holy shit!"

"They want me to work with Marquez on a new tap. They want to know if they can put a tap within so many feet of a server to find out what the enemy is working on."

"Does this mean that you'll stay in the service longer?"

"No, but I will be working as a consultant and then a contractor." I look at him. "It also means that we won't be working together. I don't know how I feel about that. What if there is a code that is highly important?" I pause for a moment to catch my thoughts. "I have to tell them my answer by Monday. Then I will be on a time crunch to complete it, if I decide to do it. I could possibly be sent overseas to complete the assignment."

"That can be dangerous. I don't like that idea."

"Yeah. That's what I think too. But if I can do this, how many lives can I save?"

"I see your point. That is why I joined the unit."

"I think that I need to do this. Hopefully I can get it fixed before the deadline."

"That is sound thinking. Another thing that I love about you! You think things through by process."

"Your just saying that because you like my cooking. Now I need to shower." I went to my tiptoes to kiss my man.

"Oh gross! Uncle Tanner is getting cooties!" I hear a little boy yell.

Tanner and I laughed. The innocent minds!

Tanner introduces me to Chris, Gracie, Tristan, Hudson, and Parker. "It is very nice to meet you all. But I need to shower. If you'll excuse me."

"Of course, sweetheart." Matt said.

"Thank you. I also brought things to grill burgers and make s'mores."

"You're awesome! Now go shower." Tanner told me. I left to do just that.

After my shower I dress in another pair of shorts and tshirt. I find the guys arguing about a game of soccer. Decker, Granger, and Thermo have shown up. "But we don't have an even number to play!" Chris tells the group.

"Yes we do!" Tanner looks up at me and grins. "Wanna play a game of soccer?"

"Sure!" The game starts with myself, Tanner, and Decker against Thermo, Granger, and Chris.

We score to get the first goal. "Beginners luck!" Thermo yells instantly.

After an exciting game, of which we won 17- 2. "How the hell did that happen? Are you a ringer, nerd?"

Tanner, Decker, and I laughed. "Apparently you didn't do your research. I played soccer from the time I was five years old. In high school we went to state three years." I told him.

"Well sonofa...."

"Watch it! There's kids listening." Tanner tells him.

"Why didn't someone tell me sooner?" Thermo asks.

"We aren't your daddies. Besides, you checked her out in the beginning. You should have done a more thorough job."

Thermo threw his hands in the air. Everyone laughed harder. Including the kids. "What other sports are you good at?"

"Volleyball, softball, and track."

"Tanner! Your phone is ringing. The name is G. Sanders." Erika said.

Tanner tensed and looked at me as he went for his phone. "This is Tanner Cline." He answers as he walks a little away from the group.

I watch as he talks. He looks up at me and motions me to him. I go. Tanner walks with me to a good distance away. This might get ugly...... fast!
