Luca didn't hesitate to knock hard on Betsy's door to get her to open up again. Ashton thought he had been knocking for a whole five minutes before Betsy finally re-opened it.

"I don't understand what's going on, Luca?" Betsy said immediately, anger running through her eyes as she ignored Ashton and looked straight at her brother.

"We uh, really need to talk to you about something. It's important," he replied, glancing between the two of them nervously.

Betsy furrowed her eyebrows, "How important?"

Luca cleared his throat and sent a wary glance Ashton's way. The blond offered him an encouraging smile, making Luca feel a little more at ease.

"Quite important. Something you need to know..."

Betsy seemed confused but she stepped aside anyway, allowing Luca and Ashton to walk inside her room.

Luca and Ashton took a seat on her bed whilst she propped herself down on the desk chair and spun around so she was facing the two boys.

"Speak then. I have better things to do," Betsy said.

Luca took a deep breath and shut his eyes for a quick moment, trying hard not to back out of what he was going to do.

"Um–I... Okay please don't hate me for this.." Luca started, pleading with his eyes as he stated at his sister.

"Okay?" Betsy replied, confused.

"I–I uh..Ashton and I have uhh.. This whole time I've–I've liked Ashton," it wasn't exactly what Luca wanted to get out but it was enough.

Betsy didn't seem to catch on and Ashton was trying his hardest not to hold Luca in his arms in a form of comfort.

"I'm sorry? I don't understand..?"

Luca sighed before speaking up again, "Feelings. I've had and still have feelings for Ashton."

Betsy froze, her eyes widened and she slunk back in her chair in surprise.

"Are you serious? Ashton?" she exclaimed but her voice was quiet.

Luca nodded his head and turned to look over at Ashton who motioned for him to continue.

"And I–uh.."

"And I have feelings for him too," Ashton interrupted, feeling Luca curl up next to him.

Betsy shot her head towards Ashton, her eyes possibly even more widened and she looked as if she yearned to say something but couldn't find the words.

Luca was hugging his knees and eyeing his sister with fear and anxiety, not knowing how to take her reaction.

"Um when I stopped liking you it was because I started feeling for Luca instead," Ashton continued because he knew Luca wouldn't be able to, "I found out he liked me too but he was too scared to do anything about it because he cared about you more. But we–we want this. Us. We're not asking for immediate forgiveness, we just want to be honest with what's been going on."

Betsy shook her head, "You fucking got to be joking right?" She asked standing up.

But the look in Luca's eyes told her nothing about this was a joke.

"Leave me the fuck alone," she whispered, her tone harsh and cruel.

"Betsy–" Luca rushed in, standing up.

"Leave me the fuck alone!" she screamed and Luca instantly flinched away.

Ashton caught his hand, and dragged him to the door but Luca was reluctant.

"She needs space. She'll come to you when she's ready to talk again," Ashton whispered lowly into Luca's ear.

He nodded and allowed Ashton to guide him out the door and shut it behind them.

Luca started pacing up and down, his hands dripping in sweat and his fingers shaky.

"How long till she talks to me again do you think?" Luca asked frantically, his cheeks growing bright red.

Ashton stopped him and pulled him to his chest, wrapping his arms around Luca's waist.

"I don't know. But stop freaking out please, you need to breathe Luca."

Luca buried his head in Ashton's hoodie, tears spilling out his eyes furiously and uncontrollably.

"She hates me doesn't she?" he mumbled.

"No, she just needs time Luca. You're her brother, her own blood–she would never hate you. Me? Maybe. But you? Never."

Luca tried to understand but his mind was spiralling out of control.

"Just please don't let me go, I don't think I can survive any more pain." Luca pleaded, holding onto Ashton's arms and pulling himself closer to him.

"If I could I'd hold you in my arms forever," Ashton whispered in reply, leaning down to press a kiss to his temple.

"I don't deserve this. I'm so selfish, this should be Betsy not me. You should be holding Betsy forever, not me."

Ashton shook his head and only tightened his hold on the smaller boy, "But I'm holding you."
