"Jesus Christ Luca, it's past midnight! Where have you been?"

Luca shrugged of his jacket, his eyes widening when he realised it was Ashton's.

He turned back to Betsy who seemed too worried out of her mind to notice. He slyly shoved it under a litter of laundry spread over his bed.

"I told you...I went to the library," Luca mumbled, biting his lip as his mind wandered back to the real reason he'd been out so long.

He fought back a smile and instead let out a small cough as he looked up at his sister innocently.

"Luca the library closes an hour before midnight! It's freaking two in the morning right now!" Betsy shouted in a whisper, being careful about raising her voice.

"I just got a little lost okay? Stop worrying about me, I'm almost eighteen, I'm not a kid anymore!"

Betsy's frown deepened and she took a step back at her brother's outburst, hurt flashing over her features.

"Well then," she muttered looking away.

Luca stepped closer to her, feeling instant regret for shouting at her. His heart only deepened in guilt when he knew her hurt would only increase when he told her what was going on with him and Ashton.

"I'm sorry," he said, reaching out a hand and latching onto her arm, "I'm so fucking sorry."

She glanced up at him, "God Luca, someone's got to mum you don't they? Don't you get it? You're so ignorant to positivity it's fucking draining. I can't handle myself let alone you and your constant brooding!"

Luca flinched away at her words, lips parting in shock and his mind whirled in a mess trying to process his sister's words.

"Like take me and Ashton for example, I really liked him Luca but I felt as if I couldn't be with him because you hated him! You kept whinging about him and you kept pushing him away from me! I feel like I can't ever be happy unless you are and you never fucking are! You hardly even show emotion!"

Luca felt his eyes moisten at the words Betsy was throwing at him, but he fought back the tears from leaking.

He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. He was speechless.

"Sorry for worrying," Betsy mumbled, turning around.

Luca watched her open his bedroom door and shut it behind her, leaving him to think back to what she had said.

In some way, she was entirely right

And Luca didn't want to know how she'd react to what had really been going on behind her back.
