"Are you tired?" Ashton asked, breaking the momentary silence.

Luca much to Ashton's surprise replied instantaneously, "No," he said with the shake of his head.

The lighting in the living room was dark, but not dark enough for the two boys to not see each other. The atomsphere was kind of beautiful in a way with the dimness illuminated the features of their faces, conealing the almost permanent blushes that grazed across their cheeks.

They both could feel it—the magnetism towards the other. It was so prominent and apparent that all the hatred Luca felt towards Ashton was forgotten and left behind.

In the moment, all that mattered was the blond boy lying next to him with a soft smile sitting on his lips.

"Wanna play a game?" Ashton asked, his voice low and soft.

If Luca wasn't so dazed and stuck in the warmth of having Ashton by his side, he would of declined. But since his feelings were rising to a standard greater than his comprehension, he found himself going along with Ashton's offer.

"What sort of game?" he wondered, resisting the urge to avert his gaze towards Ashton.

"I ask a question about you and then in turn, you ask one about me."

Luca scoffed, "That's lame as fuck."

Ashton cracked a grin, chuckling to himself as he swerved his body around so he was facing Luca.

"Don't you want to get to know me Luca?" he questioned teasingly.

Luca found himself laughing, and he almost went to stop himself but he couldn't find it in him to do so.

He was showing Ashton the real him and he found, he hardly minded at all.

"No, not really," he joked, earning another laugh from Ashton.

Luca kind of liked the sound.

"Anyway, i'll go first," Ashton said, looking around the room in search for a question to ask.

"What's your favourite colour?" he asked lamely, but he wanted to start the game off on a light note.

Luca rolled his eyes, "Don't have one."

Ashton seemed shocked at the answer he was given, "Seriously? Come on, everyone has a favourite colour!"

"Not me. Never really thought about it you know?"

Ashton's interest in Luca only increased, because to him Luca was really something else entirely.

"Okay my turn, " Luca said, "Do you have a favourite colour?"

A couple seconds passed before Ashton responded, "I don't know...recently i've been a little fond of gold and green colours...or maybe something inbetween."

Luca didn't think much of it, and merely nodded his head.

"Okay," Ashton began again, "Tell me, are you planning to go to uni?"

"Nah. I mean all my subjects are non-Atar and I dont think I can be bothered to go to Tafe or anything like that. It's kind of lazy really, but I honestly don't care," Luca explained nonchalanty.

Ashton's curiosity peaked at this but he patiently waited until his turn again to pry further.

"Why do you put so much effort into wanting to know me?" Luca quizzed, throwing Ashton off guard.

"I- uh..well, like I told you, I want to be your friend."

Luca opened his mouth to speak again but Ashton quickly shushed him, "Nuh uh, my turn again."

Luca rolled his eyes and turned his body to position himself to face Ashton, mirroring him.

"What will you do with your life then? If you're not going to uni or tafe?" asked Ashton.

Luca wasn't in a rush to reply with this one as it was a question he'd been silently asking himself for a quite a while now.

"I don't know. I'm still trying to figure it out," he told Ashton, tugging the blankets over his entire body.

Ashton gnawed absentmindedly on his bottom lip, realising how much lack of care Luca really had for his future. Especially in comparison to his sister, who studied hard and was hoping to enter into law school after graduating high school.

Nonetheless, he figured Luca didn't really want to talk about it and dropped the subject.

"Do you actually, genuinely like me?" Luca asked, the question shifting the dynamic in the room.

It was kind of tense as Ashton parted his lips to answer, "Yes. Do you like me?"

"No."

"Do you hate me?"

"Hey! It's my turn!" Luca exclaimed, glaring up at Ashton.

"I don't care. Do you hate me?" he murmured, tilting his head to side.

"That's unfair... But yes. You know that already do you not?" Luca spoke in reply.

"Then I guess I have nothing to lose because you already hate me."

Luca was beginning to grow fairly confused with Ashton's response, and he didn't know what to make out of it.

"Sorry what?" Luca spoke his thoughts, "I'm confused."

Ashton was leaning in close and Luca felt himself freeze up at the sudden proximity and the warmth of Ashton's breath hovering over his lips.

"What are you doing?" Luca whispered, knotting his eyebrows together into a frown.

"I'm taking risks...Just like you said..."

And then Luca felt Ashton's lips touch his own.

At first, neither of the boys pulled away nor moved their lips in sync, they just touched.

But somehow it was enough to increase the warmth and tingles both boy's felt and finally, after an odd yet comforting moment, Luca made the move to lead the kiss.

Ashton followed, re-collecting his courage and soon their lips moulded together like it was meant to be.

And reality became lost for a short, passion fueled moment because everything felt perfect.
