At school, Benji continued sitting with Luca and whenever Mateo passed him in the hallways, he'd send him a cold glare. Benji would simply smile back, he always did.

He was using this, to advise Luca.

"But it doesn't bother me.. "

Benji shook his head, "Don't be silly, it does. If your feelings didn't bother you, you wouldn't be hating on him. You wouldn't be snapping at him when he talks to you. You wouldn't be all sad and mopey like you are now."

"Gee, thanks," Luca replied, rolling his eyes, "This isn't helping."

"You're not going to take my advice to just talk to him about it, or just try be nice to him or even talk to Betsy about it so, you'll take a different route. Act like he doesn't bother you, avoid him when he talks. Don't go off at him, just act like he's.. Invisible," Benji told him, grabbing him by the hand and bringing him to his feet.

"What are you doing?" Luca asked, as Benji dragged through the school.

"You're going to act like he's not there," Benji answered, flashing him a smile.

"I don't know.."

"Just try it," Benji insisted, making his way towards the football field.

Act like he's not there.

They arrived at the field, and Luca self consciously eyed the group of boys sitting on the bleachers and stuffing food into their mouths.

A loud whistle escaped Benji's mouth, and Luca almost raised his hands to conceal his ears at the shrill sound.

All the boys turned in their seats, some eyeing Luca in confusion, and others seeming surprised.

"Benny!" Shawn exclaimed, bouncing down from the bleachers and crushing Benji into a hug, "Are you coming back to sit with us?"

Benji laughed, "No sorry, I'm actually here to see Ashton."

Ashton glanced up, his eyes falling directly onto Luca.

"You suck," Shawn grumbled, making his way back to the bleachers.

When he sat, Ashton stood and Benji didn't miss the way Mateo scowled at him.

Benji and Luca lead Ashton away from earshot of the group of boys.

"What's up?" Ashton asked when they finally halted.

"Okay, in maths right, I'm really struggling with some of the equations and I was wondering if you could help me since we all know you're a maths genius," Benji explained, smiling widely.

Ashton nodded, "Yeah sure."

"Great! Actually, I think I left my maths book in the classroom, let me just go grab it real quick," Benji said, pointing to the school building.

"You want me to help you right now?" Ashton asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Yes!" Benji said, before running off and leaving Luca alone with Ashton.

Luca opened his mouth in surprise, watching as Benji continued running, further and further away from the two boys and the sudden awkward tension between them.

Ashton turned to the brown haired boy and released a long sigh.

"H-hey Luca.."

Fuck, he thought to himself, did I just stutter?

Luca kept his gaze remained on the grass below them that appeared to be awfully green.

Act like he's not there.

A minute or so passed of Ashton just standing there and watching Luca. He quickly realised Luca was avoiding him.

Somehow that stung more then Luca yelling at him, or putting him in his place. And what happened to the boy at the fair who actually may of smiled at him?

Everything was so confusing to Ashton that neither Luca nor Benji took into consideration what he may of been feeling because hell, he didn't even know himself.

All he knew was that it was painful, and constantly changing. And he wanted to figure things out more then anything but right now, with him avoiding Betsy and Luca avoiding him—he was stuck.

He needed clarity.

And those fucking butterflies weren't helping.
