Ashton texted Betsy telling her he would meet her at the Ferris wheel and as he waited his veins pulsed with anxiety. He was going to meet her father. Luca was going to be there.

Luca. Why did that name suddenly sound so we weird in Ashton's head?

"Ash!"

Ashton snapped his head towards the voice, his eyes catching onto Betsy—his thoughts slipping away.

And yet returning seconds later when he casted his gaze on the boy next to the red haired girl.

Luca.

He looked different, different to how he looked at school.

Then, Ashton's eyes landed on an older looking man who he assumed was their father. His features resembled Betsy more then they did Luca but in tie they all had the exact same pale skin colour.

"Hey," Ashton smiled, shaking away his nerves and replacing it with confidence.

"Uh hello Mr. Violet it's a pleasure to meet you," Ashton said, sticking out a hand.

Mr. Violet gripped Ashton's hand tightly and shook it firmly, "Please, call me Fredrick."

Ashton nodded his head and turned to see a grinning Betsy and a sullen appearing Luca.

"Thank you for uh letting me join you guys," he spoke, running a hand through his hair awkwardly.

"It's not a problem mate, any friend of Betsy's or Luca's for that matter is considered family," Fredrick replied, his lips tugging up into a polite smile.

Luca huffed beside him, clearly not pleased with what his dad had said. Ashton just laughed and slyly took Betsy's hand in his.

She eyed the contact warily to which he grinned innocently at her and much to his luck, she allowed it.

Minutes later and they were all walking around, browsing at food stalls and rides. The minimal chatter picked up here and there until Fredrick said something in particular.

"So Ashton, are you dating my daughter?"

A bright blush spread across Betsy's cheeks and Ashton widened his eyes in surprise but he quickly put on a cocky smile.

"No sir, but I would certainly like to," Ashton replied, sending Betsy a wink.

Betsy slapped his shoulder, "Ashton!"

Fredrick let out a light laugh, "I like him Bezzy, you should date the guy already."

Betsy's mouth fell agape and she stared at her father and friend in utter shock.

"I don't date," she grumbled folding her arms across her chest.

She failed to mention that even if her father approved, the only approval that mattered was her brother's and he most certainly didn't approve of Ashton.

"But you'll date me. Mark my words," Ashton said, glancing down at her with a bright smile.
