Ashton mistaked the sudden intensity of erupting feelings in the pit of his stomach for the thought that what he was going through was all because he was falling for Betsy more and more.

This however was far from the truth, but thanks to Ashton's obliviousness and the way his feet were still pattering on a journey to find himself—he was yet to figure out that those butterflies weren't for Betsy at all.

Luca however, knew. He didn't experience the pain of butterflies though, no he had simply read far too many romance novels to know that his hate towards Ashton stemmed from love.

And now he hated Ashton even more.
