Of course he noticed, Luca thought to himself the next day at school.

He had been walking past the school oval, just as Ashton seemed to be jogging towards it in the opposite direction. When his eyes caught onto Luca, he halted his steps and offered him a grin.

Despite everything that happened between them, Ashton was still trying to talk to him.

Luca gritted his teeth and clenched his jaw, "Please, just keep jogging."

Ashton's eyebrows knotted together, and he glanced down at Luca, trying to shake off his dismissivness.

Then he saw the red strand amongst his mess of brown hair, and his eyes widened in surprise.

"What?" Luca asked bashfully, "Why are you looking at me like that..?"

Ashton pointed at the piece of hair, "You dyed it red. Cute."

Luca's cheeks reddened and he moved his face swiftly to conceal the blush from Ashton's view.

"Okay yes, umm bye now," he quickly said, moving past him.

And Ashton grinned brightly as he watched Luca walk off, not even realising that he was feeling anything out of the ordinary.

Because, maybe that weird feeling in his stomach meant he was just feeling a little sick and nothing else.

Nothing else at all.
