"Your brother doesn't like me," Ashton grumbled as he and Betsy sat on his bed.

"Luca doesn't like anyone," she replied as she chewed on a carrot stick.

"Yeah but he hates me. Like full on," he argued, feeling himself grow annoyed the more he thought about it.

"Oh well, " Betsy shrugged.

She didn't want to mention that her brother truly did hate him more then anyone else, because if she did so, he'd ask why and quite frankly, she didn't really know herself.

Obviously Luca's reasons were rooted much deeper then simply being because he's a bit of a player and sometimes acts like an ass.

Silence creeped in between the two as they sat—going through their recent English work and snacking on some carrot and dip.

After around twenty minutes, Ashton spoke up, "Are we friends?"

Betsy rose her eyebrows at the boy sitting in front of her. She smiled warmly as she thought further on his question and finally, she nodded.

"Yeah. I think so, " she said.

He returned the smile, feeling himself become a tad giddy as he sat there staring back at Betsy.

"I'm glad," he replied, breaking their eye contact and grabbing himself a carrot stick.

Betsy hummed and watched as Ashton stuck the carrot into his mouth, chewing on it happily.
