Beverly's pov

I awoke to the steady patters of rain upon my window, droplets yet to scatter the nascent rays of rising sun. The sound brought a calmness to mind, a soothing melody, a natural lullaby. With eyes at rest I felt my centre, lived happily within myself for these blessed moments of solitude.

"School" I groaned

"Yes, school. Get your ass up" Aqua giggled

"Nooo, I don't wanna" I mumbled, my arm around her stomach held her tighter

"Come on, you'll be late" she laughed, the vibrations of her laughter rested on my skin

"Come on, get up. I have something I need to do today" She said

"No"

"Beverly" she warned

"No"

"Gosh you're so adorable" she laughed

"Stay with me, let's not go anywhere. Just, stay in this moment a little longer" I whispered against her skin

Soon I returned to the moment, the song of the rain became as fusion, birds bringing sweet high notes. In my mind's eye I am with them, singing upon the roof tops, filling my lungs with fresh air, watching the world come into focus.

"Are you worried about today" She asked, her fingertips graze against my back causing goosebumps to crawl along my skin

"Mm?" I hummed, feeling to sensation spread through my body

I closed my eyes and allowed my head to sink even further into her chest, her fingertips rolled higher as they dragged along the nape of my neck. My breathing became heavy as the toe curling and electric sensation moved through me.

"Cheerleading" she said

"I am" I muttered

"You don't seem so" she said, a smile etched across my lips and I brought my face up to face hers

"Because when I'm with you, nothing else seems to matter. It's cheesy, I know. But it's the truth" I chuckled

"You're making it really hard not to fall for you" she whispered

"Would that be a bad thing?" I asked

"To fall in love with you?"

"Yes" I answered

"God no" she laughed

"If it helps, I'm falling pretty fast for you too" I said, a wide grin stretched across her face

"Really?" she asked in the cutest voice causing me to giggle

"Really"

"I guess we're a bunch of dumb wattpad stereotypes" she said laughing

"Hey! No we're not. Most characters fall in love till the 20 chapter" I answered

"Thank God we're not them huh?" she asked

"Nope"

"Your time is up Bev, get up and shower" she smiled

Ah yes, school. The slow burn mornings where teenagers walk around like zombies craving anything for a adrenaline. Then the heat filled afternoons where everyone smells like sweat and depression.

"Ugh I hate you" I groaned and propped myself up on the bed

"But... But you said you were gonna fall in love with me soon" she pouted

"Shut up" I glared at her before hopping off the bed

"No" she said

"You're adorable" I giggled before slipping into the shower

My warm feet met the cold times and my body temperature quickly adjusted. I placed the cotton towel on the handle and turned to knob to let the warm water flow.

"Can I join you?" Aqua yelled from the bathroom

"I have no idea how you even shower" I laughed

"I have powers sweetheart, I can keep my tail away" she said. My eyes glanced in the direction of the bathroom door to see Aqua looking at me with a smirk

"However, it seems to spring up everytime I think of you" she said

"You're an ass" I chuckled

"The one you don't have?" she smirked, my eyes went wide as my jaw dropped. Why this bit-

"That's it, you've lost your invitation. Leave thank you" I chuckled and walked over to the door

"Wait what?! Noooo I'm sorryyyy" she pouted

"Too bad" I said as my hands gripped the door knob, slowly closing the door

"But you have a nice ass. It's round and full-"

"Should have thought about that before hurting my feelings" I smiled and pushed the door shut

"I sowwie" I heard a muffled voice from behind the door. I chuckled and shook my head before walking over to the shower.

My mind went back to today. I truly do hope that I make the team, as much as Aqua could say I was good. I needed to know for myself.

There's always gonna be a voice at the back of your head making sure you know that you could have done something better. It leads to the self destruction in me, the sadness, the anxiety. I was tired of feeling it, luckily today we'll find out if I made the team or not.

The water poured down, it dripped by my side, my mind faded into dullness and everything turned into a foggy illusion. The sensation of the steamy water calmed me. It took my mind off things. All the things I honestly don't care about. It's the water. My mind swirled, and it's like I'm standing under an everlasting waterfall. Ever so beautiful, but it can never last, I know that now.

I slipped into some jeans and a t shirt when I was finished and quickly pulled my hair in a highpony. Aqua came out of the bathroom with a smile on her face and a towel wrapped around her body.

"Well hello there" I chuckled

"Hi gorgeous" she said

"Are you leaving now?"

"Unfortunately I have to" I pouted

"I'll see you.... When I get home" she said

"Where ya headed to?"

"I'll explain when I get back but for now, I need you to not worry yourself" she said, Aqua stepped closer to me

Her body pressed against mine and her hands cupped my cheek.

"I promise you did your best and that's all that matters" she said

"Oh wow" I chuckled

"Shut up, you already got in" she laughed

"You don't know that" I sighed

"Or do I?" she wiggled her eyebrows

"What are you hiding from me Aqua?" I asked

"Nothing at all sweetheart"

"I'm watching you Aquamarine"

"Oh please do" she said

"Are you always this horny?"

"Yes. Is there a problem?" she asked with a smirk

"No complaints" I giggled, Aqua leaned down to place a lingering kiss on my forehead

"Bye baby" she whispered

I felt my heart flutter in my chest body the small nickname. I bit my lip nervously before pecking hers

"Bye Aqua" I whispered before heading downstairs

"Good Morning" Allie greeted, the red hair girl held a shake in her hands and she pushed it towards me. I furrowed my brows but took it

"It's to stay healthy" she chuckled

"Thanks, shouldn't you be in school?" I asked

"School is for losers" she spat

"Allie" I warned

"I'm kidding. I actually have two hours to spare" she said

"Well, I'll see you when I get back" I said, my feet found its way towards the door

"Bye Missy" she shouted as the close closed

My eyes landed on my car, I slipped the keys out from my pocket and unlocked it. My feet hit the gas and on the road I went.

The ride to school didn't take more than fifteen minutes, my hair tossed and turned with the wind, my fingers pushed my glasses up the rim of my nose as I turned a corner into the school's parking lot.

As expected, the lots were filled with teenagers who greeted their friends after months of being away. Most of them looked lost, others looked like they didn't want to be here in the first place. Basically me. While the rest tried their best to keep a positive attitude and smile.

I parked my car in the usual space before heading past the school's door. My eyes immediately locked with Josie who pressed her back against my locker.

"Good Morning" she smiled widely

"I wanna go back home and sleep" I groaned and I leaned me head against the metal

"Aww" she giggled

"Elena's on her way here, she's been a nervous wreck all week"

"That makes two of us" I muttered

On cue, the tall girl turned her from the corner and her eyes landed on us. Elena smiled widely as she ran towards us.

"Come on, let's go. It's starting" Elena squealed

"What's starting?" I asked

"Initiation" she giggled, her hands intertwined with mine as she tugged me in the direction of the gym

"Well shit, guess I'm just a sack of potatos" Josie yelled

"Oh shit, I'm sorry" Elena laughed, her hands slipped from mine as she ran back to Josie

She cupped the girl's cheek and started to pepper kisses all over her face. I laughed when Josie tried to fight her off

"Better?" Elena asked when she pulled away

"Better" Josie chuckled before giving Elena one last kiss on her lips

"You two are so cute" I chuckled

"Gooo, you're gonna be late for your own crowning" Josie laughed

"Byeee" Elena giggled before running over back to me, she sped walk our walk into the gym

My eyes immediately landed on a group of teenagers who sat on the bleacher, they tapped their feet rapidly and fidgeted with their fingers. Nervous perhaps?

"Have a seat, I have to be up there with the rest of them" Elena chuckled, I nodded and made my way over to the bleacher

The cheer team were all spread out in a line and the head cheerleader stood in the center. Her eyes were narrowed as she scanned everyone, it was a dark stare that felt cold, it could slice through your soul and burn you from the inside. To say she was intimidating was an understatement.

"As all of you know, I have taken a transfer to the school up the coast, which means they'll be a captain spot opened. Last semester the team took a vote on who should step up and take the place" The girl said, her eyes ran over each person in the room

"So now it's time to announce to new captain of Green Academy's cheer team" she said

A smile pulled across my lips as Elena squirmed around, she bit her lips as her eyes met mine. She gave a small wave before chuckling.

"By a unanimous vote, our new Cheer Captain is" the girl said, her eyes dropped from the paper and locked with mine. I felt the blood drain from my body when she announced the name
