Sometimes I feel as if people purposeful do things to hurt me.

Sometimes I feel as if people exist for no reason.

Then sometimes I feel as if the world is chaotic and needs to be purged.

Warning, warning. For the next twenty four hours. All crimes are legal, your first assignment is the drive a stake through Aquamarine's heart as watch as she survived because there was nothing more painful than the sight before her.

My eyes flickered over to the girl that I seemed to be attracted to. Her smile reached her ear as she laughed at something a clown said. They were both sprawled out on the grass as he threw a ball into the air and caught it with one hand. They were engaged in some deep conversation that she sure seemed to care about.

I swear, it's like I can't catch a break. I finally found someone I actually like and swoop-

This bitch comes in and makes his appearance.

The shitty part is, he has such an advantage. They know each other for years while it's only been two months for Bev and I.

He's reasonably attractive, had straight brown hair that was combed into a middle part, looking like a tik tok Fuckboy.

Yes, I know what tik tok is. Allie has been teaching me everything I needed to know about the gen z lifestyle. Everynight I'd go to her room since neither of us could sleep and she'd explain everything to me.

Heck, I was on instagram now. The land of aesthetics and K-pop edits.

"What are you looking at?" Allie questioned. I didn't spare her a glance, my eyes were still focused on the two humans in the backyard.

My knuckles gripped the balcony until my they turned white. My jaw clenched when I saw Raymond wrap his arms around Beverly's shoulder.

"Are you still on about her? Sheesh" Allie rolled her eyes

Yep, she knows. Since Allie started staying here, there's been an uncanny chemistry between us. It was as if we were meant to be-

Best friends.

The thing is, I know she's been crushing on me. I could feel her eyes on me whenever I looked away, she's extremely touchy for no reason at all. For someone who hates people with blood, she sure is pretty nice to me. I always noticed how she acted towards anyone else, her sarcastic remarks could cut through the toughest of souls yet she's been nothing but supportive towards me.

It's too bad that my own feelings were wrapped around the short blonde girl who's literally wrapped around a clown.

I shouldn't call him a clown, I don't even know the guy. But I just couldn't help it. Everytime I saw his face, the anger just pushed through me. It took everything not to punch his lights out.

It's not that I hated that she's happy around him, I just wished she was that happy around me.

What does he have that I don't have? A dick? Because it isn't that much impressive.

"Come on Aqua, just look away. You're turning red for fuck sakes" Allie hissed

"What is it about him?" I asked

"They've been bestfriends since they were pushed out of the womb. It was bound to happen" She said

"Yeah but, they only started talking again two days ago. Why are they being all touchy?" I asked

"You're one to talk" she laughed. I rolled my eyes

"That's different"

"How?"

"Because what we have is real" I snapped. My eyes pierced through hers

"And you think whatever is going on down there is fake? Do you think she's faking her emotions?" Allie asked.

I sighed and allowed my muscles to relax. I felt her hand press against my back as she rubbed soft circles in a calm rhythm. I was being ridiculous.

"Just give her some time, if it doesn't work out then... It just wasn't meant to be" Allie muttered

"What if I'm supposed to actually be doing something"

"I promise you, it's better to watch from the sidelines than to get yourself in a mess" she said

"Why?"

"It'll just confuse her even more. You said she's still going through that process of finding herself. Do you really think it's a good idea to involve yourself right now when she's trying to figure out what's going on with her and that guy?" Allie asked. I sighed again. My fingers reached up and rubbed my temples. Allie has a point.

"Who told you to be so smart?" I chuckled

"No one, I'm just spreading my wisdom onto you so you don't make that mistake. Plus, you've never actually been with anyone before so everything you're feeling is new" she said, I nodded and we turned to face to two humans.

"What you're feeling is jealousy. You want something that you can't have. You're possessive over someone that doesn't belong to you, heck she doesn't belong to anyone right now. But it's okay to feel that way because it's apart of you. Aqua, you care about her so it's normal that you'd feel all of that anger, that rage just boiling up" she said again

"I just want it to stop. I feel like I'm going mentally insane over a girl I barley know anything about" I groaned

"It's okay, we fall in love with strangers sometimes" she chuckled

"Even if those strangers let you in their home?"

"Yes, even if they do" she laughed

"It's okay to feel whatever it is that you're feeling. The thing is, you don't know where to draw the line on those feelings. It's important that you know it. If you're ever feeling overwhelmed, just take a step back, take a deep breath in and think about what would happen next if you decide to act on whatever it is that you're feeling" she said

"So what you're saying is, I should give her some space?" I asked, Allie giggled and nodded

"That pretty much sums it up" she smiled

"Thank you, Allie. I don't think I'd be able to survive this mess without you" I said

"Don't worry about it, you're actually the only person I want to even be around" she muttered, I raised my brow and glanced her way

"Why's that?"

"Because you're just... Special in some way" she said, I smirked at her

"I'm special?" I asked, Allie bit her lips nervously and stepped closer

"Yes" she whispered. I raised my brow and stepped closer towards her

"What else do you think of me?" I smiled, Allie's hands found my shirt. She balled her fist into them and pulled my into her chest. I chuckled when our bodies pressed against each other.

Her hands held mine as she guided them towards her hips before she snaked her arms around my shoulder. I watched her carefully as she smiled

Allie's face came closer to mine, I smiled when her lips pressed against my ear

"Is she looking?" Allie whispered, I chuckled and glanced in Beverly's direction

To my surprise, her eyes were on us. Ray was still going on about something but he wasn't even looking in her direction. Bev furrowed her brows as she looked at me.

"Yes" I whispered, I could feel Allie smirk against my skin, she pulled me closer and buried her face in my neck. My arms held her waist tightly.

"Does she look pissed?" Allie asked. I glanced back at the girl who held her arms across her chest and her face looked as if it was burning red.

"Yes, she does" I laughed

"Then let's give her a show" Allie said. Her hot breath against my skin made me giggle

"There's no way we're doing this" I said.

The girl pulled her head away from my neck and held a pout. Her messy red hair pressed closely to her cheek. I brought my hands up and moved away a few strands

"You rejected me once, now you're rejecting me again?" she asked, I could tell she was joking

"It's not that I don't like you Allie, I just really can't see us like that" I said honestly. The girl smiled

"I know, I just thought I'd try again" she whispered

"You're really nice to hang out with Aqua. I really enjoyed getting to know you, I guess some part of me enjoyed it a little too much. Nether the less, I'm not some creepy girl that'll tie you up and force you to marry me like they do in those lifetime movies" she said. I rolled my head back as a laugh escaped my throat

"-But I can respect your honesty. Not alot of people talk it like it is. It's something I like about you. And if friends is what you want, then heck, I wouldn't have it any other way" she smiled sweetly

"You're really sweet Allie" I smiled

"Don't you dare let anyone know it. It'll ruin my street cred" she smirked, I playfully rolled my eyes

"It's not bad to let people know the real you" I whispered

"I know that... I just can't help it, you know? I'm so accustomed to never letting anyone close to me. The most conversation I've had with anyone else is 'So how old are you?" she said. I chuckled as the girl who leaned against my chest again

The cold afternoon breeze on the beach kissed our skin. We stayed in our position and enjoyed the moment, taking in the orange sunset. The soft sounds of the waves crashing together as they reached the shore could be heard from the balcony we stood on.

"Do you think we'll ever get what we want?" I asked the girl

"This is real life. Of course we don't"
