《Aquamarine (GirlxGirl)》Chapter 7

Beverly's pov
-
A warmth invaded my body, I snuggled closer to the heat, it was comfortable especially since it was chilly outside. It was probably the warm side of the bed I shifted from
My eyes fluttered open slowly, the sight of soft skin came into view. I raised my brow and noticed my arm was draped around Aqua's stomach-
"What the hell are you doing in my bed" I hissed
The girl groggily opened her eyes and stared at me in confusion. I rolled my eyes and hopped off the bed
"I said to sleep in the other room, what are you doing here? Do you know how creepy that is?!" I asked
"I'm sorry, I... I'm just not accustomed to this place. It felt... Cold and empty in there. This is the only room that felt... Warm? It's weird but you're the only person I feel comfortable around, you're also the only person I know. I'm sorry" she mumbled, she looked so scared, her bottom lip trembled and her eyes seemed glossy. It was hard to stay angry so I simply rolled my eyes
"It's something called boundaries Aquamarine. You should have woken me up or something" I said crossing my hands against my chest
"You seemed tired... I didn't wanna wake you, you already gave me a place to stay for the night. I didn't wanna burden you even more" she muttered
I groaned and rubbed my temples. What am I doing? I just need a cup of coffee and a slap across the face to wake up from this dream
"Hey, are you okay?" Aqua asked, she hopped off the bed and headed towards me
"I'm fine"
"You don't look fine" she girl said, I felt her hands brush against mine as she brought my hands down from my temples.
Her soft warm hands on mine made goosebumps crawl against my skin. I shuddered under her touch and our eyes finally locked
"What's wrong?" she whispered, our bodies were so close that I could feel the heat radiating off her
I swallowed a lump in my throat when I noticed her green eyes were changing colours, her pupils were getting more engalred and her eyes looked almost golden. I bit my lip nervously, the closeness of our bodies made me squirm. It's not that I wasn't enjoying it, I just wanted it to... Somehow... Get even closer. Ugh what am I doing? I don't even like girls. Sure they're pretty and everything but it just wasn't for me. I never thought about it in such a way
"Bev?" Aqua asked again. Her eyes flickered down to my lips before returning back to my eyes. I could physically feel my heart pounding against my chest. Oh God what was this thing I was feeling!
And with that, I moved closer. Yes, I was leaning into Aqua's embrace. This feeling was overpowering anything I've ever felt. Our lips were just centimeters apart. Her hot breath lingered on my lips
"Beverly?! Why's the door locked?!" A voice rang from my door
Panic shot through my veins, my head snapped into the direction of the door to saw that the knob was being jiggled.
"Coming mother!" I yelled, I turned back to Aqua and saw that she still had her eyes on me

I groaned and looked around, my eyes landed on the closet, it was big enough to fit her
"Get in the closet" I hissed
"I refuse to go back in ther-"
"Just do it! My mother isn't the nicest person to greet in the morning!" I hissed, Aqua rolled her eyes and headed over to the compartment
"Beverly hills, open this door right now!" My mother yelled and banged against the door
"I'll be right there!" I glanced back and saw Aqua was hidden behind the doors. I sighed in relief and unlocked my room door
"Good morning mother" I greeted, the blonde hair woman looked at me with furrowed brows and a scowl on her face
"Who's in here?" she asked
"Why would anyone be in here?" I questioned
"You took pretty long to unlock the door"
"Because I was... In the bathroom" I lied, my mother eyed me curiously
"Where is Jason?" she asked
"Somewhere with his tramps" I scoffed
"What are you on about now?" my mother rolled her eyes and headed down out the room
I glanced at the closet and saw that it was still closed. I sighed and followed my mother downstairs
She walked into the kitchen, I noticed she had on her grey suit topped with black heels. Her jacket was tight fitted and complimented her body shape. Her hair was shoulder length but it was neath. My mother walked into the kitchen and grabbed her briefcase
"Why is this sardine on the counter and not in the cupboard?" She asked
"Um, I must have forgot to put it back, I'm sorry" I mumbled and took the cold can into my hands
"This rain has been pouring all day for the past week, it's getting messy" my mother groaned and ran her hands through her hair
"I actually like the rain, it's calming" I smiled
"Your father should be down in any minute, we'll be off to our business trip for the next three weeks" she groaned
"Will I be able to see you for a day?" I questioned
"No, the trip is in Chicago"
"Oh... " I mumbled, my mother's eyes caught mine
"What was it you were saying up there?" she asked
"Um... Jason and I broke up" I mumbled
"Why? What happened?"
"Turns out, I'm not the only girl in his life" I sighed and hopped onto the counter
"I'm sorry Doll, If it helps, I never liked him either way" a voice rang through the kitchen. I glanced over and saw my father walking in with a smile
"Dad" I cheered
"My dollface" he giggled and came over to me. He had on a tight blue button up and a red tie, topped off with a dark grey trousers. My father engulfed me in a tight hugged and rocked me left to right. I giggled when he pulled away
"I'm gonna run him over with my car and sell his balls to eBay" my father assured
"That's disgusting" My mother chimed in
"What? Who told him to stick it into other coochies?" my father asked
"Ugh, we must be on our way. You know how Gerold gets" my mother groaned
"Ah yes, we're late. Bye Bev, we'll call everyday my love. Bye, I love you" my father said as he kissed my forehead, his rough lips touched my skin and slipped away quickly

"Bye Beverly" my mother said and left. Ouch
She was never the type to show her affection, she's reserved. I guess she brought her business life home too.
My father on the other hand, he was sweet and caring.
He was never scared to tell you how exactly he felt. He's blunt and honest, it was something I admired most about him. My mother and father had such different personalities, I never understood how they clashed. But, I know my mother means well... I just wished she knew how to read me
"Wow, that was... Something" Aquamarine's voice filled the room
My neck snapped around to see her leaning against the door frame. Her arms were crossed against her chest and she eyed me
"What?" I asked
"Your mom, she reminds me of my father. Except she actually has a heart" Aqua giggled
"What's wrong with your father?" I asked, Aqua sighed and walked over to me
Her feet dragged against the cold floor. Her arms fell to her side and she came closer. Aqua stood between my legs, her arms were on both sides of my thighs as she hovered over my body. I raised my brow at her
"Ever heard of personal space?" I asked
"Nope, I don't know her" Aqua smiled innocently, I rolled my eyes but didn't move.
Her being so close... Felt right? It's weird but I just felt comfortable. I guess that what's been pissing me off so much. She does these things that I would freak out at if anyone else did it. But, I just couldn't bring myself to feel angry when it's her.
"I- I'm actually supposed to be married right now" she chuckled
"Then why aren't you?" I asked
"Because I'm gay, was it not obvious?" she smirked. Oh-
A blush pulled across my cheek as my head hung low. Dammit, she's seen me half naked. Hell, I've seen her half naked!
"I was being forced to marry a guy I've never seen before" she mumbled
"That's illegal" I assured
"Rules don't apply in the ocean as they do on earth Beverley" she said
"Then again, there's alot of cultures on land that marry their children off to people they've never seen before" I mumbled
"It's bullshit! No one's life should be dictated for them" Aqua spat
"I know.. I'm sorry you had to deal with that... But why are you here?" I asked
"I yeeted out of that altar as fast as I fucking could. They'll never catch my gay ass marrying a man, especially a narcissist one" she said. I couldn't help but laugh
"So you ran away?"
"Yes, yes I did. But I fled the church, but my father was the nail in the coffin for me"
"Why's that?"
"Because he released his guards to capture me and drag me back to marry the man. So I swam away, I fought the guards and just swam.... Then my father striked me.." she mumbled, I furrowed my brows
"Striked?"
"He's the king of Atlantis for a reason. He has his trident he uses to protect the kingdom. One of its bolt was powerful enough to kill five humans at once... He striked me in the stomach with full force" she said
"What the actual fuck is wrong with your father?!"
"He would rather see me dead than happy" she whispered, I could tell the pain she felt in those words
My heart ached for the girl before me. Sadness filled my veins like a wave. My hands cupped the girl's face and I forced her to face me. The touch made my heart race but I wasn't focusing on that right now
"I'm so so sorry you had to deal with that" I mumbled
"Don't worry about it, Atleast now I'm free. If I'm not in the water then he can't find me" she smiled weakly
Then it hit me, she had nowhere to go. No-one to trust, Aquamarine was alone in this world. I had a Princess in my house, supernatural or not, she's still a person with no where to go.
"Would it help if I said you could stay here?" I asked, a smile tugged across the girl's face
"Really?" she smiled widely, It caused me chuckle
"Yeah, really. My parents won't be home for three weeks, I'm sure by then we could figure something out" I muttered
"We?" she questioned with a smirk, I rolled my eyes
"Yes, we. I'm not letting you go back to your father" I said. Honestly that wasn't just the reason
I found myself deeply attached to the girl. It's only been a day but... There's just this weird connection. I've never felt something so... Strong.. So magnetic. It was becoming frustrating but I need to figure out what the hell it was
"Thank you, Beverly. It means alot to me for you to welcome me into your house" she smiled
"Don't worry about it, you'll be keeping me much company" I sighed
"Don't you have friends?" she asked
"Yes, but they don't live here. I'm all alone in this place most of the time" I chuckled
"Then I'd happily be your friend" she smiled
Our eyes locked again, I noticed my hands were still cupping her cheeks. My breathe hitched in my throat when her piercing green eyes stared into mine. It felt like she was slowly sucking away my soul
I felt her fingers drag along my skin. It sent a wave of heat through my body that landed on my stomach, Aqua's hands light scraped my thighs as she remained between my legs. I swallowed a lump in my throat when she leaned closer
Her mouth brushed against my ear and I shivered, I could tell she was smirking. Dear God what the hell is going on with me
"Are we going to continue what we left off upstairs?" She whispered in my ear
"I don't know wh-what you're talking about" I stuttered out. Aqua laughed in my ear and my body tensed up. Oh for fuck sakes
"You're seriously gonna act like you don't wanna kiss me right now?" she whispered and leaned back, our eyes locked once again
This time, my eyes were the one to fall to her lips. God they looked so soft. All I wanted to do right now was lean over and capture them between mine. Fuck my sexuality now, I need this
"Look at that Elena, I told you she's gay!"

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line.
