The moment Taehyung pushed Jungkook out of the way, he was falling back onto the ground with an aching pain on his shoulder. For the first two seconds of laying there he didn't feel anything but numb as he looked at the sky but the moment his hand touched the wound on his shoulder, he felt the pain shoot through his arm and collarbone. Then before Taehyung knew it, his eyes were forced shut by themselves. Like he was suddenly tired but he tried to fight against it. Until he couldn't fight against it anymore. Leaving him unconscious.
The next thing Taehyung remembered was being in an ambulance. His shoulder felt very tight before he felt like it was burning which made him start groaning in pain. Trying to make the pain stop but his moving only made it worse. "Wh-What-" Taehyung couldn't even get a word out as he fell back unconscious from the paramedics giving him pain meds but also because Taehyung kept coming and going from being in shock. Everything was hazy when Taehyung came in and out of it though. Only to be awake for a minute or so before he was out of it again.
It stayed like that until they got to the hospital where Taehyung was taken well care of but this time he didn't wake up. In the ambulance, he was waking up every few minutes but in the hospital? Not once did Taehyung wake up. Even after they stabilized and let him rest for hours. There was no sign of Taehyung waking up which was weird. They didn't give Taehyung anything but pain meds and unless Taehyung was not sleeping well for the past few days then he should be awake or at least responding to the doctors.
Jungkook sat in the waiting room staring at the chair in front of him. Totally out of it as he sat there covered in Taehyung's blood. The nurses offered Jungkook new clothing to clean up and Jungkook did take it but he didn't go anywhere with it. The clothing sat on his lap with his bloody hands on the new clothing. Everything was just surreal? How the hell did this even happen? Why did this happen? Why the hell did Taehyung push him off the way?! Feeling himself start to hyperventilate, Jungkook leaned forward and grabbed his head.
"Taehyung?! Jungkook?!" Namjoon came rushing into the waiting room with Seokjin who also called out for Taehyung but instead as they looked to the corner of the room, they saw Jungkook leaning over on the chair holding his head. "Jungkook!" Seokjin called out once more and ran over to Jungkook. Kneeling in front of him. As for Namjoon, his heart dropped when he saw Jungkook sitting in the waiting room. That just meant... it was Taehyung. Taehyung was the one who got shot. "Oh... my god." Namjoon looked at Jungkook in disbelief.

Everything happened so fast. Namjoon got the call from the hospital but the nurse speaking to him didn't specify who was hurt. All that she said was that his friends were hurt, friends as in plural. Naming both Jungkook and Taehyung but no one said anything about getting shot until they were in the vehicle and they got to the hospital. Raising his head, Jungkook looked at Seokjin with red eyes. "Sung-Sungjae sh-shot him-" Jungkook hiccuped as Seokjin looked at Jungkook with saddened eyes but slowly he looked shocked by the information.
"He pu-pushed me off the w-way and I-" Jungkook shook his head and let the tears fall. Not able to calm down as Seokjin hugged Jungkook who tried to get the male away from him. "Jungkook...?" Another voice was heard but this voice... god this voice he hasn't heard in a long while as he then looked up. First, he saw Namjoon but then his eyes landed on Taeho, Taehyung's father. "... Mr. Kim." Jungkook swallowed and stood up but his legs just about gave up on him until he grabbed onto Seokjin.
Just as Jungkook got up though, the nurse came in asking for Taeho. "Is he okay?!" Jungkook asked before the two could leave. "Are you family?" The nurse asked but Jungkook stilled in his place knowing he was probably not going to get any answers so he shook his head- "He is." Taeho answered the nurse. "Oh? Well, Taehyung hasn't woken up yet but only one of you's could be in the room with him." She informed the two. Jungkook quiet since Taeho answered for him. Taeho... agreed that he was family? Sniffing, Jungkook took a seat again.
Seeing Jungkook take a seat, Taeho looked at the nurse and motioned her to show the way. The moment he got the call about Taehyung, Taeho's world stopped. Not even remembering what he was doing before he was out the door and rushing to the hospital. Speeding past the other vehicles right until he got to the hospital. Then when he entered the hospital, he felt numb. "Excuse me?! Kim Taehyung?! He's my son-" Taeho rambled on but the front desk told Taeho to wait in the waiting room until she could get Taehyung's doctor, in which he did.
Seeing Jungkook sitting in the waiting room made Taeho stop in his tracks. What was he doing here? Why... was Jungkook here? It's been years and Taeho was in the dark about his sons life but he didn't think he would see Jeon Jungkook again. Assuming Taehyung and Jungkook reconnected, he told the nurse Jungkook was family just so Jungkook would be able to visit after he was done. "So the bullet was a through and through meaning it went right through but it did leave some nerve damage that we're not totally sure how bad it will effect Taehyung's arm until he wakes up." The doctor informed Taeho who stood by the door looking at his son.

"... Because of the nerve damage we don't know if he'll have full control of his right arm but with physical therapy, it should help with some function control." Taeho heard as he walked into the room. Looking at his sweet little boy on the hospital bed. Seating himself down next to the bed, Taeho grabbed Taehyung's hand and held it. Slowly breaking down as he looked at his boy. Meanwhile, Jungkook was deep in his thoughts but his thoughts started consuming him. Like every single time he started to think too deep into his shitty life.
So to stop himself from overthinking everything, Jungkook left the hospital just to get some air. It didn't last long though since Jia was heard. "Jungkook!? Oh my god! You're okay!" She said while engulfing Jungkook into a tight hug. Jungkook confused by that. "Why wouldn't I be?" He asked with a low tone. Like all his emotions were sucked out of him as he spoke. "Why wouldn't you be?! I had to hear from snapchat of what happened! They said you got-..." Jia stopped to look over Jungkook. "... If you didn't get shot who did...?" Jia asked out of realization.
"Because if it wasn't you then..." Jia stopped to look at Jungkook's facial expression. "... S-Sungjae sh-shot Tae-" Jungkook couldn't even finish his sentence since his voice broke. "What?! No- no no no, is he okay?! Jungkook?! Oh my god!" Her eyes widened as Jungkook shrugged. "He-He's not wak-waking up Jia I don-Don't know what's going o-on." Jungkook shook his head as Jia hugged her brother once more but tighter than the last one. Jungkook giving in this time to hug Jia since that was the only comfort he could find right now.
"Son!" Joochan, Jungkook's father called out. Jungkook lifting his head at the voice just to see his so called father and mother running towards him. "Oh my god you're alright!" Jangmi had wide eyes as she grabbed Jungkook and brought him in for a hug. Joochan standing just a little bit away from the two. Why'd they look like a mess? Why did... "What are you guys doing here." Jungkook said with no emotion but the confusion was there. "Jungkook- I-" Jia gulped. "I thought it was you- so I couldn't keep them in the dark I'm sorry-"
Not wanting to be there, Jungkook pulled away from his mother who he didn't bother hugging. "... You can go. I'm fine." Jungkook gulped and turned to leave. "Jungkook." Joochan called out and as much as Jungkook wanted to stay, he kept walking. "Son!" Joochan called out once more which made Jungkook stop because that word. Son... he thought he imagined it the first time but Joochan called out a second time. "So now I'm your son?" Jungkook turned back. "Because what? You guys thought I was dying? So that makes up for everything you guys did? What you said?"
Joochan looked at Jungkook with a expression full of regret but he didn't step away nor stop Jungkook from speaking. "... You've always been my son Jungkook." Joochan spoke which made Jungkook scoff. "Since when?! Just three years ago you said I should be dead so what changed huh?!" Jungkook honestly didn't have the energy for this but what could he do? Walk away? He's done that one too many times. "You're my son Jungkook! Always will be no matter what I say! Three years ago- I'm so sorry. Jungkook-"
"Stop- stop! Just stop please! Just fucking-" Jungkook slowly sat on the bench and held his head. The ache in his head, the words scrambling everywhere. "Just stop! Please- fuck! I can't do this anymore! I'm so tired! I'm fucking drained just shut up!" Jungkook yelled while holding his head. "Please, just shut... up."

Gaijin
Gaijin means outsider or foreigner. That goes doubly so for David Wyatt after he found himself in a world being chased by something that looked eerily like a stereotypical Japanese Oni. Now, he has to figure out how he can find his place in a world where most people dislike him on principle. At least everything is also out to eat him in some way… wait, that’s a not a positive. This is a Eastern Fantasy GameLit story. It is primarily told from the main character's perspective with the very common trope of an isekai. There will be my own spin on things, so facts I pull from eastern mythology and legends will be drastically different in some aspects. In the end, this story is just for your and my enjoyment. There will be guaranteed chapters every Friday at 15:00 CST, and I will randomly post chapters at other times when I get in the mood for writing or when I like a particular scene.
