"Graduation is in three days! Three freaking days Tae, can you believe it?" Jia, Taehyung's best friend turned to Taehyung while walking backward. A dramatic sigh coming from Jia who turned back around and hummed, going on and on about their school years although Taehyung and Jia have only been friends and classmates for two years, almost three. Taehyung moved to Seoul with his family just before he finished sophomore year and there he met Jia who introduced herself first since she thought Taehyung looked quite cute and innocent, it was adorable.
"Three days? Already?" Taehyung grabbed out his phone to check the calendar. "I've been stressed out about the entrance exams that I haven't even noticed." Taehyung sucked in a breath while leaning on Jia. "Entrance exams are still a long way to go." Jia scoffed at Taehyung as they approached her house. An eye roll coming from Taehyung who began to slip his bag off his shoulder, "Unless you have my parents. Even after I graduate they'll make me study for the entrance exams. Gotta be the perfect boy they wanted in their perfect little world." Taehyung said with a wide smile that fell as soon as they both walked into Jia's house. Note the sarcasm.
Taehyung dropped his bag on the floor along with Jia as they then kicked off their shoes. "Okay, but you ranked first this year? Shouldn't that make them proud? Like, come on... first fucking place Taehyung." Jia blabbered on about how Taehyung's parents should have been happy that Taehyung took first place this year and in his final year but honestly that was just the hard work of always being placed second throughout his school years and because of his parent's threats of taking his phone, making him walk to school, constant nagging for him to study. It was a literal hell. "I guess." Is all Taehyung said with a shrug.
Just then Jia's phone started to ring and that made Taehyung look a little disgusted as Jia looked at her phone with a smile. "It's Akio, hold on." Jia walked off and Taehyung faked a gag with his finger just halfway into his mouth before he walked over to the fridge and grabbed a drink. Jia's house became a comfortable place for Taehyung ever since they became friends. Every single day Taehyung would end up at Jia's one way or another. Simply to hang out with her or to just laze around. Being an only child was boring so he never really liked to stay home.

Akio though? God Taehyung hated him. Tanaka Akio is Jia's boyfriend of one year. They've been on and off ever since they started dating. Akio being the biggest asshole Taehyung knew. A 6'0 guy, black hair and you guessed it, a jock. More like an emo jock though? His choice of clothing was different but Jia liked to say he was just 'hard headed' and 'unique' and yes, he was but Akio and Taehyung just never got along. Besides that, Taehyung figured she'd be on call with Akio for some while and so he decided to go into the 'guest room' which he liked to call his room?
Now it wasn't actually his room but the guest room was where he would hang out whenever Jia had Akio over or simply when Jia wasn't home and her room was locked. (Yes, Jia locks her room due to her lack of privacy) Plus the room was just nice to be in. So while scratching his nape, Taehyung reached for the doorknob and opened the door without a thought but stopped when his eyes landed on the male on the bed. Head against the headboard, blanket up to his torso and his hand? under the blanket.
They made eye contact for a second before Taehyung realized what was going on, "So-Sorr- I'm sorry!" Taehyung left the room but left the door open and so he squeezed his eyes shut and hurried to shut the room door but that resulted in him slamming it closed. Hand over his mouth as he hurried down the stairs but stumbled a bit as he got to the bottom in which Jia was standing in front of Taehyung who was trying not to freak out since Jia was on the phone with Akio, still. She heard the slam and had to check on Taehyung who was flailing his arms around. "There's a dude in the guest room and-" Taehyung whisper yelled and before he could finish-
"Dude? Wait- no that's Jungkook. He's my brother." Jia had put herself on mute since Taehyung looked quite scared but now that she told Taehyung, his expression changed to a confused one. "... Sorry, brother?" Taehyung's jaw felt like it was on the ground as Jia then tapped at Taehyung's cheek signalling him to shut his mouth so he did so and followed Jia who walked into the kitchen after pulling Taehyung along. "Since when?! You don't have a brother. You're screwing with me!" Taehyung whisper yelled again which made Jia laugh at Taehyung.

"Why are you whispering? And I wish I was but no, that's my brother Jungkook. It's a long... long story but he came in for my graduation. It was a surprise but a good surprise. He just got here last night and I forgot to tell you that the guest room is occupied." She looked at her phone with a gasp once she noticed she left Akio on mute. "Hey! no I'm here. Huh? No, it's just Taehyung." Jia had to tell Akio who she was with before he would get bothered which bothered Taehyung but he couldn't be bothered for long once he heard a raspy voice.
"You're home early." Jungkook walked into the kitchen after being interrupted with his deed. His tongue dragging over his bottom lip as he stopped by the edge of the table in which had Taehyung sitting just nearby. "Oh for the love of-" Taehyung sucked in a breath and looked down before he brought his phone up to start swiping on random things just so he looked busy. "Uh... no, it's five. I'm home late actually." Jia spoke up as she hung up on her boyfriend once Jungkook came into the room. Looking confused, Jungkook looked at the time on the clock and laughed a bit, "Well would you look at that. You're right. Dad ain't gonna like that."
Jia scoffed at Jungkook while leaning on the table. "Dad has more problems on his plate than me coming home late." Jia hinted at Jungkook who rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah, me right? I mean you're not wrong but dial it down a bit yeah? I'm still your older brother, Jia cakes." Jungkook teased Jia with her nickname Jungkook gave her. "Can you not? Jungkook- gross." Jia looked disgusted at Jungkook before she noticed Taehyung laughing a bit from the name. "Okay, Taetae you need to shut up too." Jia pointed out while also calling out Taehyung's nickname.
A small amused 'oo' coming from Jungkook as Taehyung looked up. "I- I didn't even say anything!" Taehyung looked quite offended from Jia suddenly bringing up his nickname. The difference was that Taehyung got shy whenever someone would use his nickname while Jia just got disgusted by hers, then again it was her older brother calling her Jia cakes. "You laughed, very similar." Jia pointed at Taehyung who shook his head and before they could argue, Jia looked at Jungkook who was eyeing Taehyung. "... That's Taehyung since you don't know how to properly introduce yourself."
Jungkook then looked away from Taehyung just to look at his sister. "Thanks, Jia. Really, thanks a ton." He said with a straight face since Jia just outed him for literally staring at Taehyung. He didn't mean to stare but he was just trying to get a look at this boy who didn't bother looking his way. Made him question if this was Jia's boyfriend but something didn't look right for Taehyung to be Jia's boyfriend so it left Jungkook in a stump. "I'm Jungkook, Jia's older brother if you didn't know by now," Jungkook spoke while beside Taehyung.
"I'm uh..." Taehyung had it all ready in his head. All rehearsed of how he was going to introduce himself but once he looked at Jungkook- everything went blank? Like... this male was right beside him just a meter? away and Taehyung literally just caught him jacking off so it was hard to just forget. "... Cat caught ya tongue?" Jungkook broke Taehyung out of his thoughts as Jia stared at Taehyung who felt himself blushing from embarrassment. "Taehyung!" He said rather loudly. "I-" Taehyung lowered his head onto the table and didn't move.
That caused Jia to laugh and clap her hands as she turned away from Taehyung. Jungkook smiling widely as he looked at the table and bit his lip. Deciding that he should probably move away as he pushed himself away from the male and grabbed his jacket from the rack. "Well, Taehyung!" Jungkook stopped himself from laughing at the sudden excitement he said with Taehyung's name, just as Taehyung said it. "I'll see you around." He chuckled while leaving the kitchen and just seconds later they could hear the front door closing.
Still, Jia was in a fit of laughter while Taehyung's face was beaming red from what just happened and to even have Jungkook tease the way he said his name? He was beyond embarrassed and it didn't help when Jia came laughing at him. "Oh my god Taehyung you're so cute! and embarrassing but you made him laugh. Good first impression, I'll remember this." Jia teased Taehyung who groaned and refused to look up since he still felt like his face was red and he was right so he stayed like that for quite some time with Jia who teased him.

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you.
