You should have known that the second chance at life was nothing but the start of a disaster.

Even if you believed that by some divine intervention you had been given a second chance at life, there was a catch. There's always a catch.

Because life's a freaking sadist, who gets a kick out of our misery.

So when you woke up to see Nora and Iseka staring at you intensely, you knew shit was about to hit the fan.

You blinked at their unblinking, scrutinized eyes boring down to your very soul.

"You think so?" Nora asked.

Iseka straightens, "Of course. There is something wrong. She should be crying, making a fuss, not remaining silent like a dead."

Fat lady, you sure have a way with your words.

Nora peered at you worriedly, "My baby's not in danger, right?"

"No, of course not," She scoffed, narrowing her black eyes. "Even though there were complications in the pregnancy, she came out just fine."

You blinked, not understanding a word coming out of their mouth.

Iseka smiled with a soft expression, "She's a fighter."

...Thank you..?

Nora sighed, picking up and cuddling you to her bosom. "Of course she is. After all, she took after her Mother!"

Iseka scoffed and rolled her eyes.

Nora's wide smile faltered for a second as she rocked you back and forth. Her eyes momentarily strayed outside, to the forest across from your home. There was a strange fire burning beneath her eyes as she glared at someone only she could see.

"..She promised me, my baby will be fine. She can't go back on her words. It was a deal."

You side stared at her fuming expression with a creeped-out face. What are you mumbling about, lady? You, scary...

Iseka clicked her tongue and that seems to snap Nora out of her trance.

"Just try it. She must be hungry by now."

Your world stopped.

Nora laughed, before striding towards the bed and dropping on it. She heaved a sigh before looking down at you with love and adoration, only a mother could have.

You would have gushed over the cuteness of your Mom if it weren't for the words ringing loudly in your ears.

...Hungry?

You were doomed.

You sweated bullets when Nora brought you close to her bosom. Your eyes widen, almost bulging out.

Nope, you weren't ready for this.

You let out a shriek and thrashed around to get free. Nora gasped, surprised at your sudden action.

"No, dear, don't move! You might get hurt!" Nora shouted in worry.

But nope, you weren't listening. You were far from attentive as you flailed your arms, kicking your legs out.

No! I don't want to suck on your tits, lady!!!!!

You mentally screeched.

Iseka tsked, "Handle her more delicately, will you?"

"I'm trying but she's flailing around!"

Nora tried to calm you down to no avail.

"Is not she hungry?" Iseka pondered loudly as her narrowed eyes remained fixated on the child.

"She's avoiding it. I'm trying to feed her but she cries whenever I try. I don't know what's wrong?" Nora said looking upset.

Yes!! Everything's wrong. I'm a grown-ass woman trapped in a kid's body about to suck on another woman's tit. There's nothing right about the situation!!!

I don't swing that way!

You cried harder.

Iseka paused. "Give her to me."

Iseka looked at your red face and flailing arms. She stared harder at you before bringing you close to her own bosom.

You shrieked in horror. What's with these women forcing me to suck their tits?!?

"Hmm" she let out a hum when she saw you cry harder and louder. She looked at the upset mother, ordering her. "Bring her the nipple I gave you. Fill a bottle with your milk. But make sure it's clean."

Nora looked a bit confused but she nodded in determination and scrambled off to bid the commands.

Iseka looked at you with a soft look. It looked so weird on her hard personality. "You're a difficult child"

......

Hours later after coaxing from both of them, you finally drank the milk from the nipple bottle.

You still felt uncomfortable and squirmed in unease but you were hungry after all the fussing so you begrudgingly relented.

They both breathed a sigh of relief when you finished the bottle. Glad that you were feeding properly. But they wished you'd drink from the source but beggars can't be choosers.

Your mother picked you up, settling on her shoulder and gently patting your back until you let out tiny cute barf.

Nora giggled at the cute sound, her worries momentarily vanished when she looked at your content face.

You were glad too. You almost paled at the alternative option. Thank god, you put up a fight. And thank god, both of them were understanding. Though you could they were still quite worried.

You felt a bit guilty. A bit.

You looked at your surrounding. With your tummy full and content, you had to think of other crucial matters.

You knew you were reincarnated after mysteriously being killed by the 'crazy lady.

But the question was, why?

You didn't mean to sound ungrateful. You appreciated that you were given second chance but why you? I mean it's not like every person killed gets reincarnated. But then again they aren't killed by a demented Crazy lady with a mystery surrounding her.

"Wahhh!!"

You cried in indignation. You didn't do anything to get killed in such a painful way. You didn't even know her.

God, if you were to meet her, you were sure you'd punch her tooth out.

For now, you had to learn about this mysterious world and the reason you were sent here. You let your lids drop and let the sleep lull you into dreamland.

The kids sure slept a lot.

Moments later, you started squirming. Bright lights flashed behind your closed lids and blurred into an incoherent picture.

Something about the beautiful blue hue lingering in your sight was so sorrowful. Your heart throbbed as you tried to find its source. Small droplets slowly trailed down your cheeks, worrying both the ladies in the room as they couldn't figure out the reason behind your distress.

"Next time for sure, I'll save you. So please wait for me. I'll come back...I will come back."

Those words echoed in the confines of your mind as if a promise long forgotten had resurfaced, begging to be remembered.

"Iseka? Why is she crying? Why is my baby crying?"

"Hold on. Everything is fine. It's normal for kids to have nightmares."

"But she cries every time you sleep. Is it my fault?"

"What are you talking about?" A brief silence. "Nora....are the rumours true? Did you really...the forest.."

"She's all I have."

"You stupid child, what did you do?"

"... she's all I have.."

Words continued to echo in your head without forming any meaning. You didn't understand but something about it felt desperate. Like the last prayer of a dying person.
