《Soul Bonded [Claude De Alger Obelia x reader ]》1. Awakening

Recent images flashed behind your closed eyes as you slowly came to your senses. The memory of the agony still lingered lightly. Your eyes shot up, breathing heavily. Your pupils shook lightly from the aftershock of the strange ordeal. Other than that, you were fine.
Was it all a dream?
Phew, what a weird dream!
You breathed out in relief only to freeze when you didn't recognise the room. Was the ceiling always this high? And why did everything look so big, so gigantic than you?
"Wahhh!!"
What? Who's baby's crying?
"Wahhh!!"
....
What the hell?! Since when did I have these small hands?
You looked at your chubby pinkish hand. There were so small, so soft. You instantly were blown by panic. Because last time you checked, your hands weren't this small.
You looked at the rest of your body. You blinked once. Twice. Thrice.
Your mind went blank before a bubbling shriek resound in the room.
"Wahh!!"
You had become a baby. A baby. A FREAKING BABY?!
You rolled around as much as your new body would allow you and sniffled out big tears. Flailing your tiny hands and legs in utter frustration and dejection.
That crazy lady had killed me! I was murdered by a fraud fortune teller. No!!
Why? You didn't even get to celebrate your birthday or enjoy it fully. How come your birthday became your deathday? It wasn't fair!
Your loud fuzzing came to a halt as you heard cloth rustle beside you. You froze for a moment thinking it might be the 'crazy lady' but breathed a sigh of relief to find someone else.
Ok, it isn't okay. Nothing is okay. Was I reincarnated after getting murdered by that 'crazy lady'?
Seem plausible.
But why a baby?!
You took a moment to look at the lady sleeping soundlessly on the bed. Her brown hair was matted, and sweat buds on her forehead. She looked drained and exhausted. But a serene smile was gently curled on her lips.

Man, she was beautiful. And young.
Her pupils shook behind her closed lids as though disturbed by your commotion. Her eyes gently fluttered open and she blinked groggily. Before a cute yawn left her mouth.
Wow, her eyes were a shade of pink. You never saw eyes of that shade. They almost looked surreal, otherworldly.
Her pink eyes met yours and her smile widened. She looked happy. Blissful even.
"Hello, sweetheart! Welcome to the world!" She said cheerfully and picked you up. "I'm your Momma!"
You almost deadpanned. Almost.
Her happiness was rubbing your wrong way. You mean, you had just died and been reborn into a foreign place. That wasn't anything to be excited about.
"Aww, look at my cute baby! So beautiful!!" She cooed, gently rocking you. Her long brown hair danced in the air.
You were mesmerized by the carefree attitude of the lady that was your new 'Momma'
"Oh, does my dear baby wants to know her name?" she asked gleefully. You almost snorted when she looked so expectant.
Look lady, I'm a freaking child who just took her first breath. I don't how to speak yet...
"...."
...Don't look at me with those sparking puppy eyes!!
"Wahh!" You cried out. Well, you could humour her.
Her eyes lit up in excitement. "Aww, my baby is so smart! She understands her Momma!!"
Lady, you blackmailed me with your kicked puppy eyes...
My soft heart can't handle it!!
Her wide smile softened. Her pink eyes roamed your face as if taking every small detail in and burning it in her memories.
"It's (Y/N) Scarlett!" She announced proudly. Rising me high in the air, "A beautiful name suited for a beautiful child"
You blinked your big innocent [c] eyes. But isn't that my real name except for the last Scarlett part?

You were weirded out by the coincidence.
"I see you finally up, Nora" a scratchy voice caught your attention. You both turned to see a black-haired, mid-thirties chubby woman standing at the doorway.
Oh, so your Momma's name was Nora. Well, it suited her.
The lady stopped in front of Nora, looking at you intensely.
Oi, lady doesn't look at me so judgemental!
"This cute little thing is quite ugly to look at," she announced and looked quite pleased with herself.
That doesn't even make sense!!
"Now, now Iseka, don't be mean to my baby!" Your Momma just laughed it off.
Iseka huffed, crossing her chubby arms. "Well, you look better. But you stink. Have you ever taken a shower yet?"
Nora gave her a sheepish smile, "I am so excited for the baby to finally open her eyes. I wanted to be one she looked for the first time so I didn't..?"
"What do you mean you didn't?! Go and take a bath this instant, young lady!!"
Nora jumped in fear, "Alright!!"
She looked unsure as she stared at you.
Is she worried about me being alone?
Iseka must have noted her hesitance. She sighed, "Don't worry. While you go and take a bath, I shall look after her. Give her to me"
Nora beamed, "Thank you!"
She gently passed you to Iseka. She took you just as gently making adjustments to make you comfortable.
Nora quickly grabbed her clothes and bolted out. You looked questioningly at her distancing figure. Seem like there wasn't any bathroom in the house. You sulked.
"Don't worry, child. Your mother will return in short while," Iseka assured you, mistaking your sulking for your mother's departure.
You cooed at her to eliminate her worries. Reaching for her shiny black hair. If you had to play the role of a baby! Then you shall! Wow, her hair was silky soft, you thought in awe.
"Now, now, brat, don't touch my hair," she slapped your hands away. Glaring at you she said, "Now take a nap and don't bother me."
What?
"Be a good girl and go to sleep,"
She placed you in your crib giving you a glare as the last warning. She strode away.
What a bad lady! That's not how you treat a baby, you monster!
You huffed.
Such a bad lady. Threatening a baby! Forcing her to sleep! She even didn't sing a lullaby, not that you want her to.
You scoffed. I'll call her fat lady from now!! You get it, you fat lady!!
You let out a yawn as you fumed in your mind, feeling drowsy. Your eyes fluttered closed, taking you away to dreamland despite your efforts to stay awake.
You wondered if you imagined the strange voice echoing in your mind as you slipped away...

Approached by a suspicious red-haired girl shortly after awakening and recognizing where he was, he's abruptly given a second chance at a youth filled with romance. But what does this forty years old man turned sixteen do when confronted with youth? He flips youth off and tells it to take a hike, he's having none of it.
