《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 40 - Kept in the dark

Katana went ahead and grabbed the police officers staff from her, snapped it in half and threw it to the ground. She wasn't up to fighting tonight, so she quickly snatched her katana and looked back at the woman who was scared.
"I was never here. Got it?" and with that, she kicked the door open and went out another window, not being seen by anyone else.
She attached the katana to her hip and found her way back to her sister. Together they ran out of that city as fast as they could, even using the remainders of any quirk she copied to get out faster.

Deku had gone home thinking she was sleeping at the hospital, now he was kicking himself for being that stupid. And Katana was relieved to think things through and act "normal". Even though she had no idea how much that would've helped her.
While the heroes were going crazy searching for her and Anna, only few days later, the girls had arrived at the bottom of the mountain they lived on.
Katana had chosen to stay quiet the whole time and so had Anna, but the silence was killing her now.
"It's safe to talk now so... what's going on? Where have you been? What happened when-"
She looked her sister in the face and saw tears running down her cheeks.
"K-Katana? Why are you crying?" she wrapped an arm over her shoulder to try and comfort her while they walked up the many, many stairs.
"They tried to help me... it didn't work. And then I was suddenly on this rooftop I've been on a couple of times, kissing the angry hero from last year..."
"What?" Anna asked perplexed.
Katana then proceeded to fill her sister in on everything that had been going on while she was locked in that hospital room. From the night they got taken away to Eri giving trying to give her memories back. All of it.

It's not like there was much to tell, but that's exactly why it bothered her so much. She didn't know. the universe was keeping her in the dark about her own life.
"Wow... I-I don't know what to say."
The sisters stopped when they stood in front of the large gates leading them to their home. The white haired girl looked up and then back to her sister before she spoke.
"There's nothing to say. I don't know who I am anymore, all because of that bastard. I'm happy that my quirk could help you but..." she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
"I can't help but think about the life that could've been. Is that bad?" she looked down at her katana and gripped onto it before she pushed the gates open, leaving her sister speechless.
"Welcome home, Katana. Anastasia." one of the butlers greeted them as they walked inside.
"Thank you."
"May I ask, where is your father?"
"Some villains took him but it's fine. We'll get him back." Katana didn't even look at him as she walked away with Anna close behind her.
"And then I'll kill him myself." both the girls thought.

"What about you? What have you been doing for the week?" Katana asked Anna to stay with her tonight for comfort.
"They'd come in my room and ask me questions about you and what we were doing there that night. Other than that I've just been thinking of 13 ways I could kill our dear father."
"How are we gonna find him anyways?"
"I don't know. Shigaraki could be anywhere with him by now."
"You're right, he could be anywhere... but lucky for you I know where." a deep voice suddenly said behind them and they immediately grabbed the nearest weapons lying around and got ready to fight.

Katana threw a knife at him but it seemed to disappear in his purple fog. She stepped closer to him with a glare as he spoke.
"Now, now. Calm down, I'm not here to fight you."
"Who are you?"
"You don't remember me?"
The girls exchanged looks before Katana shook her head. He let out a small chuckle.
"I suppose it was a long time ago..."
"Whatever. What the fuck do you want?" Anna held her weapons higher up, about to attack any moment.
"I've gone through a lot of trouble trying to find you... Cause we need each other to get what we want."
"Excuse me?" Anna scoffed and tossed a sword to her sister.
"What makes you so sure that I won't slice you to pieces right now for intruding?" the blue eyed girl asked ice cold.
"I can get you your quirk back..."
"I already have everything I need."
"Your white lightning, little Inazuma."
She went up to him and pressed his body up against the wall. Her sword was grazing his foot, ready to stab him with it if he dared to move.
"Never call me that."
"Besides, why would she even want her quirk back? What's in it for you?" Anna asked and stepped closer to them.
"I work for All for one, so what's in it for me you ask? My life."
"Hm. Proceed."
"Akito has your quirk. I know where he is."
"What has that got to do with anything now? Like Anna said-"
"The thing is, you need your quirk back to kill someone. Someone All for one can't kill himself at the moment, but you can with your quirk."
Katana scoffed and pushed him aggressively.
"And what makes you think that I'll do it?"
"You want your father back, don't you? All you need to do is follow me as I take you to the boss, copy his quirk, then get your father."
"Why would I need my quirk to kill this person?"
"Do you have any idea what your quirk is capable of? You can-"
"Shut up. This person has got to be quite strong if you want me to use it to kill them. Who is it?"
"So you agree?"
"Katana, think about this. Are we really that desperate to get him back?"
"If we don't do this, there's a high risk that Shigaraki kills him before we find their location."
Katana kept her grip on the purple fog man as she looked at her anxious sister. None of the girls would admit it but they really just wanted him home. Sure, right now they were thinking of killing him but he was still their father.
To Anna at least.
A small part of them still cared and weren't going to forgive themselves if they didn't make it in time.
Almost at the same time, both realised just that. Their eyes met and they nodded, both agreeing to this.
"Come back here in 10 minutes." the white haired girl said and sighed afterwards, letting go of the man in front of her.
He dusted himself off and did as told, creating a warp gate in the middle of the room.
"Spooky." the assassins thought.
The girls rushed to get their clothes and weapons ready, not knowing anything that could happen tonight.
As agreed upon, the villain appeared in their room about 10 minutes later alone.
"Let's get this over with." Anna said and joined her sister and purple man in the warp gate.
