《《BFF》|| taekook ✔️》Chapter 80

The following three days were a confusing blur.

Taehyung tried to enjoy the final days of the remaining semester, spending some quality time with Seokjin and his best friends, Jinyoung and Soojin. Since everyone was a year older than him, he felt a bit out of place at first as he was the youngest but came to enjoy spending time with the three of them who liked to baby him a lot. But at some point he did come to enjoy it as it felt good to be taken care of by elders.

He constantly pushed away the anxiety always settling inside his tummy when he thought of going home, focusing on the nice things for now, as much as he could.

He also tried to ignore the fact that Jungkook still hadn't responded to his text messages and came to the conclusion inside his mind that the younger did not wish to speak to him and that he would have to make the first move to reconciliate.

However, as he found himself searching for an unoccupied seat on the train for the ride home, he started feeling horrible again, like he wanted to crumble.

His face was hidden by the dark, oversized hoodie draped over his frame and casting a dark shadow over his features. When he finally found a completely empty compartment, sat down and opened his bag to pull out his headphones and listen to some sad music, he saw a little container packed with some food, a pink sticky note glued onto it.

Smiling a little, he picked it up and read:

'Hey Tae, I packed you a little something for the long train ride. It's my homemade Gimbap that you liked so much, I hope you enjoy it!

I know you must be sulking right now. But everything will be alright, stop worrying about nothing and don't be sad.

See you next semester~

-Your dearest and very handsome roommate Kim Seokjin :))

PS: Jinyoung and Soojin are missing you already. Call us when you have enough time, kay?'

Despite all the dread he was currently feeling, this seemed to cheer him up a little. Actually deciding to take Seokjin's advice for loyalty's sake, he watched the train slowly depart and the train station's grey, dirty and crowded platforms turn into trees, fields and lakes, the beautiful scenery molding into one big stripe of

green and blue as the train reached its full speed.

Plugging in his earphones, he opened Seokjin's little brunch and pushed a piece of food into his mouth every now and then, sighing in content as the delicious taste spread throughout his whole mouth.

The train ride was extremely quiet and peaceful. Taehyung did not feel sick and he did not get a headache either, both of which he had experienced the first time he had taken this train as he really didn't feel like leaving and had texted Jungkook until his battery was empty- which had made his head feel sick and dizzy eventually.

Oh, Jungkook...

And now, the empty, painful feeling was back. The one eating his heart out and making him feel tearful and hollow, making his eyes glossy. He dreaded the arrival at the train station more than anything else, not seeing the ravenette standing at the platform waiting for him breaking his heart more than anything else.

Why did this have to happen now?

About half an hour later, the train gradually slowed down and its pipes started hissing loudly, the guests blocking their ears as they lined up to exit. Taehyung simply sighed, taking his earbuds out of his ear and stuffing them into his jacket's pocket carelessly. He did not see any reason to keep them plugged in as his playlist had just finished playing its last song, anyways.

He made his way through the abundance of people chatting and blocking his way, heaving his way too heavy suitcase along with him and groaning internally. And about five minutes later, his two feet were planted on the floor of the grey platform of his hometown, him feeling stranger than ever despite having lived here and been here for all his life. He had never been so far away for so long before.

Staying put for a few moments, he kept his eyes fixated on an old piece of chewing gum stuck right in front of his feet. Why he had decided to do that, he did not know.

"Oh my god, Taehyungie! You're here!," a voice screamed all of a sudden, and just a millisecond later, Taehyung felt four pairs of arms entangle him in a tight grip and squeaked in surprise. And when they let go of him, the first thing he saw were two heads with fiery red hair.

His sadness completely vanished, he laughed heartily. "Jiminie! Chaeyoungie! Ohh, I missed you guys so much!," he exclaimed, pulling the two of them into another hug. They responded immediately, the warmth radiating from their embrace making him feel secured and loved. As they loosened the hug, he smiled widely. "We haven't been able to talk for a while, how has college been treating you guys?" And as Chaeyoung told him about her college professors were super strict and loved stressing everyone out, Jimin grinned and told him about the dance academy that may take him very soon.

He listened attentively. "Jimin, I'm praying for you to get taken, and I don't even believe in God that much. And Chae, you can tell your college professors to fuck themselves, they sound horrible. Oh, besides... How's your girlfriend?" He wiggled his eyebrows at her, the girl's face turning to the colour of her hair.

"She's doing well. But she couldn't come today, she went to visit her grandparents."

"My girlfriend went to visit her grandparents too, in freaking Japan. God, how much I miss her." Both of them found that extremely relatable, Taehyung's heart slightly aching again as he thought about his own lover. "Relatable," he simply spoke.

But before he could worry any further, he saw another figure stepping closer towards him, gasping loudly and starting to run towards that person happily, throwing himself into their arms.

"Yoongi!," he squealed happily, engulfing him in a tight hug.

It didn't take long for the younger boy to hug him back with a cute gummy smile, closing his eyes briefly before loosening the hug. "Hi. I really missed you, it's so weird to go to school without you guys there." Ruffling his hair softly, Taehyung smiled at him.

"I missed you more! And don't worry, you'll be out of here soon. College is much cooler than high school, I'll tell you all about it."

Dragging Yoongi towards Jimin and Chaeyoung still standing there, all of them started talking about all the things that had happened this semester and finally, the blonde felt like he was at home again. He had missed this, all of this, so much. And yet, he still felt a stinging sensation in his chest all the time, and it was quite obvious where it came from.

"Guys, wait a second. Where's Jungkook?," Chaeyoung asked all of a sudden, the corners of Taehyung's mouth immediately dropping at that.

"I-I don't think he'll come. We... had a fight and we haven't made up yet. He didn't answer my calls or my text messages so I'm guessing he still doesn't want to talk to me," he explained to the curious crowd.

"Oh my god, Taehyung! I'm so sorry!"

"That's not a reason for him to not show up, though..."

"What did you guys fight about?" Questions swarmed around the air which overwhelmed the boy and made him gulp deeply.

He then just sighed. "Guys, I don't even know. It's a long story and I think both of us overreacted a bit, I regret not hearing him out properly. I just hope Jungkook doesn't hate me forever."

"Do you seriously think I could ever hate you?"

The group jumped apart in surprise, immediately turning around to see an angelic-looking Jeon Jungkook, holding a big bouquet of fresh, blue roses and gazing at a paralyzed Taehyung intensively, but lovingly.

"O-Oh my god, J-Jungkook," the blonde stuttered, now falling out of his daze and not wasting another second to run towards the other boy and quite literally jump on top of him, Jungkook threatening to stumble and fall but luckily regaining his posture and holding on to his waist, taking extra care to not accidentally drop the roses or ruin them.

With his legs locked around the younger's waist, Taehyung kept hugging him like a koala, his head snuggling his shoulder. He was close to sobbing out of happiness. "I thought you were super angry with me. I was so scared you'd never talk to me again and hate me forever, god, I regret ever snapping at you. I'm so sorry, Jungkookie!," he exclaimed emotionally.

Jimin, who observed the scene quietly, decided to make this easier for them and took the boquet of roses into his own hands which Jungkook handed him relieved.

Shaking his head, the ravenette held him tighter and spun him around once. "No, baby. You have nothing to apologize for. I was the one who kept this from you, I should be the one apologizing. It was completely natural for you to be doubtful, okay? I'm so, so sorry. I was just so emotionally unstable at that time, I don't know what got over me. God, I hurt you, right? I'll never forgive myself for that." Loosening one arm around the blonde's waist, he now cradled his head as if were the most precious thing in the world.

"No, Kook, you didn't hurt me. But you know you can always talk to me, right? No matter what it is. Don't keep your burdens hidden like that, it makes me sad," Taehyung mumbled, lifting his head and connecting their foreheads.

"I know, baby. I just... I don't even know. I started feeling guilty for everything, it was like I was unsure of who I even was anymore. You know, people at my college are really homophobic. Eunwoo kept asking me if I had a girlfriend because I FaceTime'd you all the time- I couldn't tell him. I felt really trapped, you know? I told them you were a girl but for that, I feel so guilty. Like a coward. And I had no right to be such a dick to you for just that. You should be pissed at me, I fucked up."

"Kook...," the blonde whispered, caressing his cheek. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know. You know I'd never be mad because of that. But you know that if anyone understands, it's me. Please talk to me instead of keeping it for yourself, that could prevent emotional outbursts like that." At that, the younger boy slightly smiled, connecting their foreheads.

"Stop apologizing, I'm the major fuckup here. And I'm sorry I couldn't answer your messages. The last three days have been a lot, something happened. You know my aunt, right? Yeji's and Beomgyu's mother? She... It's kind of a secret, actually, I wanna show you later. But yeah, she was hospitalized for a while because her health was kind of endangered. We had to be there for her and we were worried sick. Mom especially, since she's her sister. I just completely forgot but I wouldn't have known what to say anyways. I hope you didn't mean any of that. I could never not be completely in love with you. One silly, little argument? You're gonna have to try harder than that." Jungkook grinned, the boy in his arms trying to process all the information he had just received.

"Wow, that... I hope your aunt is okay, Koo." The ravenette nodded reassuringly, indicating that she was fine indeed.

"I'm glad we're fine, you have no idea how worried I was the past few days. Now let's shut up and kiss, I really, really missed the taste of your lips." And with that, Taehyung grabbed his boyfriend's jaw softly and connected their lips, said boyfriend immediately responding with full enthusiasm.

Now holding Taehyung up by the back of his thighs, he twirled him around a few times, making the blonde hold on to his nape for dear life and both of them giggle into the kiss. The feeling of pure euphoria and happiness for their beautiful kisses hadn't vanished a bit. The fireworks exploding inside both of their bodies was still as prickling and enticing as it had always been.

"Guys, we're here too, you know?," Jimin broke them out of their own perfect little world carefully, slightly coughing. The couple just smiled cutely, Taehyung standing back on the ground and both of them rejoining the little group.

"You're making me miss my girlfriend even more," the red-headed boy grumbled.

"Me too!," the girl next to him whined.

"I'll go back to my piano," Yoongi stated, all of them laughing at that.
