《《BFF》|| taekook ✔️》Chapter 69

December went by amazingly.

Christmas had been about the most amazing time Taehyung and Jungkook ever had and yes, they did kiss under a mistletoe. Many, many times.

They baked an abundance of gingerbread houses, a big part of which they had decided to gift to a local orphanage since there was no way a properly functioning human would be able to eat all of that. And, they felt a sense of lightness and happiness by doing the good deed as they watched the little orphans' hopeful smiles.

"Look at how happy they are, Jungkookie," Taehyung had sighed, silently holding the younger's hand and watching the children with wide, fond eyes.

"Maybe this will be us adopting a child someday," Jungkook had responded, to which the blonde's eyes had turned very glassy as many emotions began stirring within him.

The two of them then kissed, right behind the back of the unsuspecting orphan keeper to whom they had proudly told they were two brothers who would like to give away some food as an early Christmas present.

And coincidentally, a little mistletoe was hanging over them just then.

That was two days before Christmas Eve. The day right before, they were busy wrapping their presents. And Jungkook made sure to wrap his dear boyfriend's presents in non-glittery wrapping paper as he knew how much said boyfriend disliked it. Why that was, however, he still did not know.

As this was their first Christmas as a couple, he felt himself to be extremely conflicted on what to give him at first.

'It's okay, he will love you even if your presents are shit,' he had told to himself consolingly which unfortunately didn't help very much.

But then, he just decided to give him three different presents, each of which with a certain significance.

First of all, a phone case.

He came to notice that his lover was in desperate need of a new phone case, escpecially by the way he would pout and whine: "Jungkookie, my phone case is so boring! I hate black!"

Jungkook would always ruffle his hair, kiss the top of his head and calm him down by telling him that he would soon get a new one.

And just like called for, he coincidentally found the perfect one while strolling around the mall:

pastel pink, with lots of fluffy, little clouds and rainbows on it, and strawberries. A lot of them.

He had bought it as soon as he laid eyes on it.

And he could still remember the happy sound Taehyung had made (and the big hug he gave to Jungkook) when receiving this gift on Christmas Eve, switching his phone case almost immediately. The ravenette had felt truly accomplished.

So much for the first present, the second one had been a bit harder to find.

But after doing some thinking, he found a good solution:

He remembered Taehyung complaining about how plain his room looked.

"My room's so big and white, but empty. There's nothing interesting in here. Jiminie has so many cool dancing posters, Chae has the prettiest fairy lights. And Yoongi has pictures of him and his family, and his piano," he'd mutter to no one in particular. But Jungkook, being the caring boyfriend he was, obviously hung on his every single word and kept it inside his head.

And so, he combined two different things and merged them into one present: fairy lights in shape of little butterflies and many, many photos of him and Taehyung doing, well, couple stuff. And the best part was the fact that the LED-fairy lights had the ability to change colours. And Taehyung was extremely delighted to get the present.

"Ohhh, Jungkookie! I love you!," he had gushed, watching the present with big, adoring eyes with all the Christmas tree's candlelights reflecting in them.

Out of all the prettily framed pictures, one had caught his attention the most: a picture of the two of them posing playfully, laughing and Jungkook backhugging Taehyung while teasingly nibbling his earlobe.

That picture was now placed right on his bedside table, making him smile whenever he woke up.

Jungkook's final present had been a beautiful, heartfelt letter, along with some quite expensive chocolate.

Chocolate with strawberry fillings, actually.

Yes, he really did not hesitate to spoil his dear boyfriend to death.

Because, well, it was his boyfriend.

Not once did he have to worry about being too cheesy or emotional, he just poured his heart out without hesitation. And when receiving the letter, Taehyung may or may not have cried a little.

And they spent a beautiful Christmas Eve with lots of kisses, hugs and tears aswell as smiles.

And mistletoes, until their lips swelled to the size of plums. And feeding each other loads of cinnamon cookies.

Taehyung had prepared lots of heartfelt presents for Jungkook aswell.

Bluetooth headphones, as he saw how much his boyfriend was struggling with wired headphones aswell as earphones, he'd always complain about how annoying the wires tangling up were and how he'd always accidentally damage them.

And the ravenette was definetely flattered by the way his dearest paid attention to trivial things that no one else would care about.

Secondly, Taehyung had bought him, weirdly enough, a pillow.

Only recently, he had realized that the younger boy's bed did not contain a pillow during a typical cuddle session.

It seemed that Jungkook had simply forgotten to obtain himself a pillow, and since he was worried about his boyfriend's head not being soft enough during the night.

So he bought him a very fluffy, baby blue pillow which the other highly appreciated, thanking him with many, many forehead kisses and hair ruffles.

And just like Jungkook, Taehyung wrote him a heartfelt letter as a final present, heart-shaped chocolates enclosed.

Basically, both of them had shed many tears while reading each other's letters.

Mrs Jeon had come into the room surprised as she thought they'd had a fight but couldn't help but smile fondly when she saw them embracing each other with happy tears rolling down their cheeks.

And for Taehyung's eighteenth birthday, Jungkook attempted something entirely new: a painting, more specifically, a portrait of him on a huge canvas since he unfortunately did not have enough money to buy him a puppy (yet).

He tried extremely hard to perfectionate it, you could say he put his blood, sweat and tears into it. It was his boyfriend's eighteenth birthday after all.

This was his first time drawing on a canvas but luckily, he was Jeon Jungkook who was able to recruit any sort of talent in a short span of time.

And that included painting.

He actually found it fun. Relaxing, it put him at ease. And at the same time, it channelled all his attention and piqued his concentration. Sometimes, it also made him panic and want to pull out his hair in frustration.

But that was the good part, the contrast of different emotions flowing through him while he completed his artwork, which, by the way, turned out to look amazing.

Personally, the ravenette thought he could've done a better job at the colouring. But all in all, he was quite content with himself.

He was also quite content with the reaction he received: As soon as Taehyung laid eyes on the portrait, he let out a small scream, throwing himself into Jungkook's arms and clinging onto him like a koala for the rest of the day, mumbling 'Thank you so much, I love you,' into his chest, over and over.

And New Year's Eve was spent just as eventfully: They got to fulfill their wish of kissing the second the new year would begin, the loud crackling and banging of the fireworks not bothering them all too much.

Afterwards, they spent their night drinking loads of sparkling wine, completely drunk and, with red cheeks and half-lidded eyes, flirting with each other in the most intimate yet awkward, second-hand-embarrassing ways ever.

Mr. Jeon just kept watching them with wide eyes and raised eyebrows, not believing the words coming out of his son's mouth.

When he planned on interfering, his wife had grabbed his arm and shaken her head, telling him to let them have their moment and dragging him away from the scene, him reluctantly following her.

And right now, it was already the middle of February.

The snow was starting to melt, lakes were thawing, the flowers were preparing to bloom, the sun showed itself more and more as the temperature significantly rose, nature was preparing itself for the refreshing, comforting season of spring.

School would start again and the usual cycle of going to school, spending the whole afternoon and evening studying and drinking several cups of coffee alongside breakfast to make up for their sleepless nights would repeat itself, over and over.

And Taehyung and Jungkook realized both,

They were slowly, but surely, running out of time.
